About: Growing up I always wanted a dog but it wasn’t on the cards, family and friends had dogs I’d walk and take care of. 4 years ago I got Albert my French Bulldog, he’s the cheekiest chap ever but has so much love for people and other dogs. My stepdad own dogs and private kennels, which I help with taking care of. I’ve helped birth puppies, train dogs of all ages. I decided to take my passion to another level. I am a student trainer with The Dog Training College. I am qualified in dog first aid. I own my own online store whilst studying to become a dog trainer. I’m home all day unless I’m helping my stepdad with his dogs or boarders. No dog would be left for lengthy periods of time. Dogs safety and well being is at the forefront of everything. I have 2 dogs who live at home, Albert (intact male French bulldog) and Stanley (intact male King Charles Cavalier). Both my dog love playing and interacting with other dogs. Due to my boys being intact I won’t be offering boarding at my home for Females on heat. Meet and greets with my boys are available in a neutral space where yourselves and your pooch can meet myself and my boys.

“John took really good care of my Staffy Denzel and gave him everything he needed while I was out. Denzel warmed to him right away and it was lovely to get a few pics to see what was happening. John is reliable and responsible and I would be happy to recommend him to other dog owners.”

About: I've been looking after friends dogs occasionally. I'm a dog lover and I like walking so I've decided to combine these two passions together. No matter what the weather is, I will be happy to walk with your dog and I'm sure your dog will enjoy that too. I've just been made redundant from my full time job so I have plenty time now for walking with your dog. Any time, any day. I will keep your dog safe, on the lead every time we walk. The lengh of the walk depands of your dog needs and your preferences.

About: I have no pets of my own in the house at the moment. I miss having dogs around a lot, I used to have two pugs. Not able to have the full time commitment these days, so having visiting pets is lovely for me. I treat dogs in my house as my own, they can sleep on or in my bed, snuggle on the sofa and get plenty of cuddles. I’m happy to follow your own house rules. Thornes park and Pugneys are on my doorstep, so lots of lovely walks nearby. Happy to sit for young pups and up to old seniors, and I’ll send daily pics of what we are up to if you require. I usually have only one or two dogs maximum, and if they are from different families I can keep separate if required, but will always encourage making friends. Im self employed and work part time, I can work my diary around pet care. I don’t work weekends. If I need to go into work it can be for a maximum of two hours at a time, but I can also keep my diary clear when pet sitting. My adult son also lives with me most of the time. I have a fenced partially lawned garden, and an access all areas in the house policy…I much prefer a dog in the room with me, and sofas and beds are not off limits.

“We arranged for Carol to look after our 12 year old cat whilst we was out of the country. We felt that our cat would be more comfortable at home so we arranged for Carol to pop in twice a day for general care and to give Bingo some TLC. We had a couple of meetings beforehand and I was was instantly blown away by Carols professionalism, empathy and rapport with Bingo. While we were away Carol provided frequent detailed updates about Bingo with plenty of pictures and information. She went above and beyond and even bought him a toy! She had an instant connection with Bingo, which is surprising as he can be very aloof and standoffish with humans. We were completely at ease whilst on holiday knowing that our pet was being looked after by such a fantastic sitter. We would not hesitate to use Carol again and would highly recommend her to anyone who is after a sitter.”

About: I love dogs and have plenty of experience with them, I grew up with Labradors and Springer Spaniels and I now have a Miniature Dachshund, who is doted on! She would enjoy having a furry friend around to play with and thrives in the company of other dogs. We enjoy hiking on a weekend and would happily take your dog along depending on their ability. I have done plenty of Rover bookings before but this was under another account, so I have experience with the process. Please message me for any further info :) Myself and my partner work from home Mon to Fri so we will always be around for company and your dog would never be left home alone or unattended. We will only take evening and weekend bookings where we are able to spend the entire time with the dogs. We would insist on a meet up prior to any dog sitting/boarding bookings just to check our dogs get along.

About: I have taken care of cats and elderly dogs who require medication but also have a deep passion for all animals no matter how big or small. I myself own a cat, rabbits, reptiles, invertebrates and marine and fresh water fish tanks so I completely understand the wonderful quirks of these animals and how hard it is to find someone you can trust with knowledge for your pets when you go away. I want to give people an extra option when they’re going on holiday and peace of mind their animals are safe with someone who understand bio active tanks, RO water, GI Stasis etc I work 5 days a week with a minimum of 2 days in office. My office hours are 8am-4pm so on those days I am available 6-7:30 and after work 4:30pm onwards I am happy to pop in at 6am or after work hours when in office. On my home days, I can do before 8am, lunch time and after 4:30pm However you want or need me to care for your animals is exactly how I will do it. I understand some pets have a rigid routine whereas some can just go with the flow. I personally prefer a day by day list of what you would like doing as this is what I provide for people caring for my animals.

“Lorna was amazing, she understood what our dog Albert's needs which isn't always easy given hes a beagle. Excellent skills and knowledge in handling a hound, Lorna was comfortable and attentive. Ontime for the appointment and well prepared, I would recommend Lorna highly.”

About: “It’s amazing being a dog-sitter on Rover (a great app to connect dog owners with caring sitters) because I get to enjoy the company of so many different dogs .. all shapes & sizes .. and of course their unique quirks and individual personalities’ Home boarding offers an alternative to kennels, especially for those dogs who would find such an environment stressful i.e loneliness, anxiety, minimal human interactions and socialisation. I offer a bestoke service, with the aim of replicating your dog’s usual routine as much as possible e.g daily walks, play time, feeding routines etc … tailored to the individual needs of your dog and your instruction - This will maintain routines and best meet the needs of your dog. 🐾YOUR DOG IS THE ONLY DOG BOARDING 🐾 I only ever care for one dog at a time, ensuring your dog receives individual care. I much prefer the 1-2-1 interaction and it avoids any anxiety that your dog may have, when mixing with other dogs. I am retired and I have no work or working from home commitments.. The service I provide is not run as a business or to supplement any day to work employment income .. I just love spending time with these beautiful animals. 🐾 Welcome Meeting 🐾 It’s really important that I am a good match for your dog and you have confidence in me to provide the best possible care for your dog. A meet & greet before a booking affords both parties an opportunity to ask questions and to determine if we are a good match. It’s essential that your dog is happy and comfortable whilst in my care - Care instructions should be discussed in respect of feeding, exercise requirements, health issues, medication etc. Please share any behavioural or individual character traits that I should be aware of … do they pull on the lead, do they socialise well with other dogs? … all dogs are different, so please let me know. Caring for dogs is a real pleasure and certainly never feels like a job .. I am very fortunate that owners through Rover and private bookings, trust me to care for their precious dogs. I look forward to receiving your enquiries. £15 saving off your first booking. Please use the link: https://www.rover.com/sit/barrym69835 Being retired means that I have no work commitments. I will be at home throughout any period of care to minimise any separation anxiety issues. IMPORTANT I kindly ask that any special care requirements are discussed, so that I am best prepared to meet the needs of your dog. Please note that my calendar may indicate that I’m not available, this is not always the case, please send a request and I will respond asap to confirm availability. (I do care for numerous other dogs on a private basis eg for friends and family). 🐾 Security 🐾 I have a secure back garden for toilet breaks and access is available throughout the entirety of a stay. Whilst your dog is on walks he/she will be on a lead at all times, no exceptions. Both myself and the environment will be new to your dog, so allowing your dog off the lead is not something I would risk. The walks will be tailored to suit the needs of your dog e.g terrain, duration etc

About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life and I currently have a 3 year old mixed breed called Sunday. I know that dogs and cats are members of your family so I will always treat them as such! I work from home every weekday other than Wednesdays when I’m in the office. I’m around a lot so able to give plenty of attention and let out for toilet breaks often and walk daily. I have a medium sized fenced garden and a medium sized house to home your fur baby. I have a 3 year old mixed breed called Sunday. Happy to use a crate if needed. Animals are allowed on furniture and beds.

About: I have owned (big) dogs all my life and have had a lot of experience around different breeds ranging from lahasa apso’s to Japanese akitas. Your dogs will be looked after by myself (Alex) and my partner Luke so they get double the love and attention. Myself and Luke are usually free from late Friday to Monday nights giving enough time for a long weekend away. We have the accessibility to take them on day trips for long walks. There may be cases where we can have longer boarding sittings throughout the year. We are free on evenings if you need your dog walking or for drop in visits. We have a good sized garden that’s completely fenced giving enough room for freedom and a large field at the back of our house. Dogs can be crated if needed.

About: Hello my name is Helen I have always been surrounded by animals from large dogs to the smallest of fur balls, I have taken in rescue Border Collies whom came with lots of challenging behaviours but also brought lots of love and friendship. I decided 15 years ago to set up my little animal business, looking after other peoples animals, whether this is offering home visits or dog boarding or day care at my home, as I hold a 5* Wakefield Council Licence, I have many repeat animal owners whom entrust me to look after their beloved pets. I am also a qualified dog/puppy trainer, first aider and in canine behaviour, so over the years I have had the privilege of working with some lovely dog owners and their dogs, for many different reasons, from training issues to more complex problems, regarding dogs being reactive. I have a vehicle which is kitted out, to ensure that your dog is transported around safely and securely. My life revolves around, looking after my Border Collies Fraggle age 12 and Maisy age 8 and the dogs that I have in my care on a daily basis, their priorities come first. Everyday, myself and the dogs are either enjoying tramping around in the woods at New Millerdam or Winterset Woods or a gentle stroll around Pugneys, I also have unlimited access to 23 acres of privately owned greenspace to walk around, as these beautiful places are right on my doorstep. My doggy owners love the photos and videos that I send to them on a daily basis, showing them the fun that we are having or the snuggles on the settee. (Please note that I do not walk more than 3 dogs at any one time, after an initial assessment, this will determine which dogs I walk together) Both Fraggle and Maisy, I have had the pleasure in having them since they were puppies, they are my world!!! They are both very sociable and love nothing more than being with me and other dogs enjoying our daily walks or cuddles on the settee. My house is spacious with plenty of room for the dogs to move around in and the garden is enclosed with a 8ft fence, which is Wakefield Council Approved for my licence. This ensures that the dogs are safe and secure. If your dog is crate trained and you would prefer your dog to have the use of a crate whilst in my home, then I have a variety of sizes to choose from. At feeding times I have a variety of different types of Kong's and interacting toys to stimulate the dogs mind or if a dog has a tendency to eat it's food too fast, I have bowls especially designed to slow the dog down. Please note that I always do a free, meet and greet session, with you and your dog, as this gives both parties the opportunity to get to know one another and ask any questions or concerns.

About: Dogs & cats have always been around in my life and I genuinely have a huge spot in my heart for animals. Growing up I loved looking after family & friends pets and exploring new places with them. Both my family and my partners' family have plenty of pets and we love being the favourite big sibling and giving them treats and lots of attention. Our families have lots of dogs of different breeds and we even have our own trained therapy dog Betty (who is Minnie’s best friend and auntie). I love spending my free time in their company and having the best bond with them. Hopefully, I can share that with your pet too! :) I have my own miniature dachshund, Minnie, who is an absolute bundle of joy. She is currently at doggy training school. She will always be with me, so as long as your pet is good with a very typical sausage dog, then I am the right fit for you. I’m currently working full-time, but I WFH so I’m always around for the pooch. I have plenty of breaks in my day to accommodate toilet breaks and walks to stretch their legs. I am the gal for any pet walking needs and drop-in visits to your home. I am a very organised person who loves a routine, so if your dog requires medication etc, I will be very punctual with feeding times etc. I can easily bring a crate and I can bring my pooch with me if you wish, as I know some dogs need other dogs company around humans. Alongside me, my partner loves animals too and will frequently ask to join me on dog walks. This definitely comes in handy for dealing with larger dogs and often helps when dealing with dogs that are more comfortable with male presence.

About: Hi there! Myself (Polly) and my husband (Liam) have had our little dude Fozzie since being a pup (a Cavapoochon who is nearly 5 now), and he gets all the love, attention and cuddles in the world! We know first hand how important it is to know your little ones are safe and well looked after, and will send you all the pictures and pupdates you’d like to know they are happy and loved whilst you’re away or at work! 📸 Liam and I both work from home, so we are able to accommodate any weekdays and weekends, with one of us always at home with your little one. We have a fully fenced back garden, with an open plan downstairs featuring patio doors onto this so your pup is free to roam as much as they want. We also only take one Rover request at any time (unless the pups are from the same household) so your furry friend will always have all our full love and attention.

About: I have a lot of experience with dogs, I have owned many different breeds from chihuahuas to dogue de Bordeaux so I am experienced in small right up to XL breeds. I am also experienced in dogs that suffer with anxiety, dogs that aren’t friendly towards other dogs, and dogs that are on medication. Hello! I am a stay at home mum with a love for dogs, after loosing my dog in January I miss the company and dog walks, however don’t feel ready to get another dog of my own yet as it feels so soon after Roxy passing. Therefore I think this would be the perfect solution for me! I’m home most of the day with just a 30 minute school run twice a day to nip out to, other than that my attention can be all on your fur babies! I have an enclosed garden, I have a large downstairs living space for crates if needed, which also includes an integral garage which is a lot cooler for summer where my dog used to love spending time watching me in the kitchen from her ‘cool spot’ in the garage! I allow dogs on my furniture and they will have a full run of the house. If you would rather your dog stayed downstairs I also have a spare baby gate I can put up if needs be. I also live a 5 minute walk away from a local colliery which dogs love! There are busy routes for dogs that love to interact with other dogs, or quieter routes for the dogs that aren’t dog friendly or are a bit shy.

“We have had Dexter for 12 yrs now and prior to him we’ve had an Akita and Labrador. Dexter is a German Shepherd and is very needy. Both Alex and Luke love him to bits and since they got their own home he has been for sleepovers. They have both slept downstairs with him because he can’t get upstairs due to bad legs. Alex has always loved dogs and plays with them and takes them for walks. As a toddler she didn’t want teddy bears or dolls but stuffed dogs. Nothing else came close to having a new doggy. I can guarantee that your dogs would be looked after and cared for like their own.”

Helen M.
“We have used Helen several times over the last 3 years and I would not hesitate in recommending her to anyone. It's like home from home for our Cockapoo, Charlie. She is a very nice person and very accommodating.”
