From the clear and quick communication when arranging the sit, to the warm and reassuring drop off, to the frequent pictures and messages during the sit, and the full handover on collection, I couldn't have asked for a better experience of leaving Arlo with sitters for the weekend. About: My experience goes beyond simply walking and feeding. I've worked with dogs who have behavioral challenges and understand the importance of reading body language, building trust, and creating a calm, positive environment. Every dog is different, and I take the time to learn what makes each one feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Over the years, I've also cared for friends' and family's dogs during vacations and extended stays, giving them the same love, attention, and routine they receive at home. In addition, volunteering at my local Humane Society gave me hands-on experience working with dogs from many different backgrounds, temperaments, and energy levels, further strengthening my confidence and adaptability. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can completely trust. I know they're family, and I treat every dog in my care with the same patience, affection, and respect I'd want for my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their routine, I'm committed to providing reliable, attentive care and making sure they feel loved while you're away. My goal isn't just to watch your dog—it's to make them feel at home and give you complete peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I currently have a flexible schedule, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. This flexibility means I can accommodate walks, playtime, feedings, medication schedules, and lots of one-on-one companionship throughout the day. During the week, I don't have access to my own vehicle, so I primarily accept bookings that are within walking distance or accessible by public transportation. On weekends, I do have access to a car, which gives me greater flexibility for bookings that are farther away. I always communicate clearly with pet owners about availability and transportation to ensure we're a great fit before confirming a booking. No matter the day, when I'm caring for your pet, my priority is providing dependable, attentive care and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every dog as if they were my own and am committed to giving them the same care and routine they're used to at home. When caring for your pet, my top priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know that every dog has their own unique routine, preferences, and personality, so I take the time to learn exactly how you care for them at home and do my best to maintain that same routine while you're away. Keeping their schedule consistent helps reduce stress and allows them to feel right at home. I treat every dog as if they were my own, giving them plenty of love, attention, playtime, and companionship throughout their stay. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, relaxing on the couch, or playing with their favorite toys, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. f approved by you, I also love spoiling pups with healthy treats and extra enrichment. For longer stays, I enjoy taking dogs on fun adventures that match their personality and energy level, such as visits to the dog park, the beach, scenic walking trails, or other pet-friendly outings. Of course, every outing is discussed with and approved by you beforehand, and your dog's safety and comfort always come first. My goal is for your dog to feel happy, cared for, and loved while you're away—and for you to have complete peace of mind knowing they're in caring, reliable hands.
“Spud has been with Serena for the 3rd time this year. He is excited when we pull up outside Serena’s door and barks at the door to be let in. Don’t need to say more than that 🤩”

About: I've had 3 years + experience with pets, taking care of dogs as young as 8 months to 11 years old, from Greyhounds to Cairn Terriors. Throughout this time I've joined Zoom recall training for a Beagle puppy I cared for, provided post operative care and administered medication to my most senior dogs. I'm currently volunteering for The Cinnamon Trust charity to help the elderly walk their dogs as well as being a member of Borrowmydoggy. I now have 2 dogs of my own, 2 sausage dogs who love meeting new pooches. I work full time but I have evenings and weekends free to offer dog walking and Drop in visits for any pet from Turtles to Rabbits as well as Dogs. I have a reasonable sized garden fully fenced off and bolt gated. My first priority is your pet at all times. Ensuring doors are shut, the correct diet is given to those with special requirements and medication is administered on time. I am aware of the current concern around dog theft so therefore I am always happy to keep doors locked and don't mind the use of indoor cameras, as long as I'm warned to look presentable 😂
“Harry really enjoyed his time with Sarah. We received pics and updates everyday. We were confident we left him in good hands. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to pick Harry up 2 days later than planned but Sarah was fine with that. We would highly recommend Sarah to anyone who needs a home from home for their pet while they’re away.”

“Maisie had a lovely time and I know she was very well looked after . I was kept well up to date and had some lovely photos of her . I would not hesitate to using these lovely people again Thank you so much x”

“I can’t put into words how amazing Jill and her husband are! Freddie adored being with them and they loved him just like I do. It’s not just the dog sitting though, they understood my anxieties and completely put my mind at rest when I was already nervous about travelling on my own. Regular updates and pictures showed me how well he was looked after and loved. Can’t recommend enough ❤️”

Luba took amazing care of my female German Shepherd over the three days she stayed with her. From the moment I dropped her off, I knew she was in great hands. Luba kept me updated with lots of photos and messages throughout her stay, which gave me real peace of mind. It was clear my dog was having a fantastic time and was being treated like one of the family. She looked so happy and relaxed that I honestly don't think she wanted to come home! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Luba to anyone looking for someone who genuinely loves and cares for dogs. I'll definitely be booking with her again very soon. Thank you, Luba!

Really happy with the care Gandalf had while we were away. We got regular photos, videos, texts and voice updates which was reassuring. He seemed settled and well looked after throughout. And he didn’t not pick up any bad habits. Thanks again for taking good care of him!

Liam took care of my pup on such short notice, and despite a few hiccups due to the emergency, was so patient and understanding! She had such a good time with him and his family, and was so calm and happy when she was brought back. Liam sent updates, pictures and videos every day to keep me updated on what she had been up to and how she was doing. I appreciated it so much! Highly recommend booking with him, I will again for sure!

It was the first time I've had to board my dog away from home. Admittedly I was a bit worried as she is a little wary in new situations. I had absolutely nothing to worry about, she immediately warmed up to Ren. I got regular updates and it looked like she had an absolute blast being spoilt and loved by Ren. Thank you Ren we will 100% be booking with you again.

Beau has just had his second stay with Serena, and once again has been very well looked after. Beau made himself at home from the minute I dropped him off, and Serena was very accommodating to all his requirements. It was lovely to receive a video of him enjoying his evening walk looking very relaxed & comfortable. Would highly recommend 😊

Mark was so kind with my two dogs - he clearly has a way with making dogs feel calm and secure. My girls got lots of cuddles and affection. His communication was excellent from the meet and greet and especially during the visit where I got photos and videos throughout. Thank you Mark for taking such care of Honey and Belle 🐾🐾

Cansu took wonderful care of our dog, Bentley, during our recent holiday meaning we had no worries about him whilst we were away. She met with him initially and established his daily routine, likes/dislikes etc and he met her own dogs. It was clear that Cansu has a natural affinity with dogs and he felt very comfortable in her care. Whilst we were away, she messaged daily to advise how he was doing and send pictures which was reassuring to see. Upon collection, bentley was happy and settled and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cansu as a sitter to others- your dog will be wonderfully looked afree and happy in her care.

Our dog Luna has had a fantastic time staying with Thomas. She enjoyed plenty of attention, walks and time outdoors. Thomas clearly loves dogs and we appreciated his updates, videos and photos. We picked up a very happy dog. I’d highly recommend Thomas and he’ll be our first choice if we go away again. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Megan was absolutely wonderful with BoBo! Our miniature Dachshund can be quite a nervous soul in new places, but Megan’s patient approach meant he settled in no time. She followed every instruction perfectly and the frequent photo updates were such a lovely touch that kept us totally stress-free. We picked up a very happy pup and will definitely be booking Megan again!

I have rebooked Natalia several times to look after Iggy and have been really pleased with the love and care she has shown to Iggy each time she has stayed. Natalia is very easy to get in contact with and responds promptly to requests or questions. Natalia keeps me informed about what Iggy is up to and sends photos and videos too! Thank you Natalia for taking such good care of Iggy when she stays with you - really appreciate it ☺️

Trixie took to Kabir instantly and we immediately knew he was the right guy to look after Trixie while we were away for 9 nights. Kabir sent us regular photos and videos of Trixie where she was clearly having so much fun with Kabir and the other dogs in his care. That we thought she may not want to come back home with us 🤣 Would highly recommend Kabir and he will be the first choice when we need to leave Trixie with someone in the future.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
