Another wonderful stay for Ralph with Sarah and Paul. We can relax while we’re away knowing he’s being taken care of and having a lovely time himself!

Chelsea is amazing! She took great care of our dog, sending regular updates and photos so we could stay connected while we were away. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear she had a real connection with our pomeranian- he didn't want to leave her house at the end of the stay! We'll definitely be booking her again in the future. Highly recommended!

This is the first time I have used Rover and I must say it’s a very positive experience. Kirsteen agreed to look after my two dogs for 6 days/nights, she was very a very warm, welcoming host, we went for a short walk on the drop off day so it made the handover very smooth. I received photos and a message or two most days and when I picked them up there was waggy tails and happy faces all round 🙂🐶🐶 All in all, I would highly recommend Kirsteen to look after your dogs and I would very happily leave my dogs with Kirsteen again and will do in the future.

I couldn’t have hoped for better! Monica was amazing with my nervous and reactive rescue dog. She was patient and kind. He was comfortable with her in no time. Her communication was excellent and we had regular updates and pictures/video. She followed my directions to the letter. It was like my dog had a little holiday himself as Monica loved him like he was her own. Thank you so much!!!

Tom looked after Enola (our 18 month old flat coat retriever) and she had a great time. Tom was super flexible and kept us informed about our dog happiness with overwhelming us with information! We were able to kick back and enjoy a local festival (that did not allow dogs)!!

Luba took amazing care of my female German Shepherd over the three days she stayed with her. From the moment I dropped her off, I knew she was in great hands. Luba kept me updated with lots of photos and messages throughout her stay, which gave me real peace of mind. It was clear my dog was having a fantastic time and was being treated like one of the family. She looked so happy and relaxed that I honestly don't think she wanted to come home! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Luba to anyone looking for someone who genuinely loves and cares for dogs. I'll definitely be booking with her again very soon. Thank you, Luba!

We choose Sarah to look after our 1-year old Lab Lottie, first time we’ve ever left her with anyone but her profile looked 5star - and we wasn’t wrong! Both Sarah and her Husband were very kind and made us instantly feel comfortable from the second we dropped Lottie off! Amazing house with lovely land on it! Can tell they’re a dog loving family with their own lovely dog Bella who was super calm! We was updated with pictures throughout and Lottie had a lovely time! She loved it at Sarah’s house we could tell, and we will be using them in future for sure! Would HIGHLY recommend!

About: My experience goes beyond simply walking and feeding. I've worked with dogs who have behavioral challenges and understand the importance of reading body language, building trust, and creating a calm, positive environment. Every dog is different, and I take the time to learn what makes each one feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Over the years, I've also cared for friends' and family's dogs during vacations and extended stays, giving them the same love, attention, and routine they receive at home. In addition, volunteering at my local Humane Society gave me hands-on experience working with dogs from many different backgrounds, temperaments, and energy levels, further strengthening my confidence and adaptability. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can completely trust. I know they're family, and I treat every dog in my care with the same patience, affection, and respect I'd want for my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their routine, I'm committed to providing reliable, attentive care and making sure they feel loved while you're away. My goal isn't just to watch your dog—it's to make them feel at home and give you complete peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I currently have a flexible schedule, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. This flexibility means I can accommodate walks, playtime, feedings, medication schedules, and lots of one-on-one companionship throughout the day. During the week, I don't have access to my own vehicle, so I primarily accept bookings that are within walking distance or accessible by public transportation. On weekends, I do have access to a car, which gives me greater flexibility for bookings that are farther away. I always communicate clearly with pet owners about availability and transportation to ensure we're a great fit before confirming a booking. No matter the day, when I'm caring for your pet, my priority is providing dependable, attentive care and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every dog as if they were my own and am committed to giving them the same care and routine they're used to at home. When caring for your pet, my top priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know that every dog has their own unique routine, preferences, and personality, so I take the time to learn exactly how you care for them at home and do my best to maintain that same routine while you're away. Keeping their schedule consistent helps reduce stress and allows them to feel right at home. I treat every dog as if they were my own, giving them plenty of love, attention, playtime, and companionship throughout their stay. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, relaxing on the couch, or playing with their favorite toys, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. f approved by you, I also love spoiling pups with healthy treats and extra enrichment. For longer stays, I enjoy taking dogs on fun adventures that match their personality and energy level, such as visits to the dog park, the beach, scenic walking trails, or other pet-friendly outings. Of course, every outing is discussed with and approved by you beforehand, and your dog's safety and comfort always come first. My goal is for your dog to feel happy, cared for, and loved while you're away—and for you to have complete peace of mind knowing they're in caring, reliable hands.

About: Animals have always been part of my life. Growing up, we always had dogs and other pets, and caring for animals has come naturally to me from a young age. For the last 10 years, our family shared our home with our much-loved French Bulldog, Woody. We recently lost him very suddenly, which left a huge hole in our hearts. While no dog could ever replace Woody, we're looking forward to opening our home to other dogs and giving them the same love, care and attention that he enjoyed. I've also regularly looked after friends' dogs, including a lovely Labrador who I cared for well into his senior years. This has given me experience with different personalities, routines and needs. My husband, Laszlo, is my additional caretaker and shares my love of dogs. Between us, there's usually someone at home to provide company, care and plenty of attention for our furry guests. What makes us different is that we only welcome dogs from one household at a time. Your dog will enjoy a relaxed family environment, a secure garden, walks to the nearby park, plenty of company and, if they're used to it, lots of sofa cuddles too! Dogs fit naturally into our family life. I work part-time weekdays (9am–1pm) and my husband works nights, so there's usually someone at home to keep your dog company. We live just a couple of minutes from the park, making it easy to fit walks, playtime and plenty of attention into every day. I care for every dog as if they were my own. Dogs staying with us become part of the family and are welcome to relax on the sofa, enjoy time in our secure garden, and join us for walks and play. I like to stick to each dog's usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, sleeping arrangements and any special requirements. My goal is for owners to enjoy their time away knowing their dog is safe, happy and loved.

About: 50 years of caring for and loving animals. We will take great care of elderly dogs who might be lacking in confidence and need extra emotional and physical support. We are home all day every day and garden outside with the dogs’ help! They are also walked every day before retiring in front of the woodburner! Our 1 acre garden is securely fenced in a quiet location and we have 3 very friendly bitches of our own who love to socialise!

Dan looked after our dog for a week. Ollie is blind and diabetic, so he needs insulin injections twice a so finding someone we can trust is extremely important. In the photos Dan sent, Ollie looked happy and comfortable. When he came home, he didn't even give us the usual sulky look that sometimes happens after we've been away! 🤣 We felt relaxed knowing Ollie was in good hands. We will definitely contact Dan again before our next holiday. Thank you, Dan!

It was my first time having someone look after Walter. Vanessa put my mind immediate at ease. She is friendly, professional and was really good with Walter. I would highly recommend anyone contemplating using Vanessa’s services. Walter was loving life when I arrived to pick him up after my trip away. As soon as we got home he went straight to sleep. Vanessa had clearly given him a good run out as tiring an 18month Cocker Spaniel is not the easiest. Vanessa will be top of my list to look after Walter in the future. She kept me updated with a quick text, letting me know he had settled in fine and slept well the first evening. Great stuff, thank you Vanessa. ?

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
