About: Hello. Stephanie and I, are both experienced house/pet sitters and have over 19 years of caring for cats, dogs alpacas, birds, and fish. When not house sitting we live on our river boat on the River Deben. This type of life does tend to insist that one is practical, self-reliant and inventive - which helps when house sitting, as sometimes the unexpected can arise. We both enjoy looking after any type of animal - and together have over three decades of experience caring for all types of creatures from dogs, of all sizes and ages - including dachshunds both miniature and full size - cats, tortoise, rats and mice, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, parrots, budgies and all other aviary birds, owls, tropical fish, salt water fish, cold water fish (carp, trout etc), goats - including milking and cheese making - pigs and sheep, insects, llamas, alpacas, and a wide range of fowl such as hens, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks and ducks. Indeed, one of our jobs included looking after some swans, and administering medicines. Sorry about this long list, but you may be wondering if we can look after your creature which maybe isn’t a cat or a dog. We are both vegetarians, enjoy cooking our own food, spending time with animals and plants and exploring new environments - these include the garden and immediate surrounding area. We do not use the situation to explore further afield, leaving the property and animals unattended for hours at a time. Please note we do not act as carers for humans, as neither of us have nursing experience. However, we can and do administer medicines and treatments to animals, and have years of experience in doing so, from dogs and cats through to alpacas and birds. All houseplants, plants in the main house, conservatories and greenhouses will be tended, watered and cared for in your absence. Occasionally only one of us takes on a housesit, if the other one has other obligations. Stephanie and I, enjoy house and pet sitting as we get to meet new friends and enjoy knowing that we can continue with the daily routines for the benefit of the owners animals and plants. We do ask that the owners leave us some basic essentials, such as bread, tea, milk, cheese and eggs, to keep us going for a while. Jane has a nut allergy. We like to get to know the animals , their routines and the home situation prior to going out for provisions if possible. When not caring for your animals and plants, we are busy writing for internet companies; photographing and logging birds and insects in the immediate area; walking, cooking; needlework; reading and gardening. Stephanie enjoys studying entomology, particularly beetles and flies. She is usually engaged in sewing or knitting project, in between writing for various companies. Jane is an experienced bird photographer and has given talks at the uk international bird fair. On sits Jane is usually busy with her photographs and also works online as an academic researcher. Travelling around and caring for different homesteads gives us the unique opportunity to meet four legged and two legged friends, extend our range of observations, while at the same time being able to offer peace of mind to fellow pet lovers. We find that we can fully engage in our enthusiasms within or very near to any property that we are minding, so do not leave the property unattended for any large amount of time. We do not use the job as an opportunity to go out and leave the homestead unattended as in a hotel or hostel, but we stay and care for the creatures entrusted to us. As there are two of us, we find that maintaining the security of the household straightforward and if any unexpected event arises, there is always one of us to attend to domestic matters. Although we work together, we prefer separate beds ( thought I would mention that in case asking caused embarrassment). Stephanie snores loudly. We look after pets in the owners home. As there are two of us, one of us usually stays in and cares for your pet, if the other needs to pop out.

“Jill is amazing. We were a little apprehensive about going away without Gus our little whippet. We went and met Jill a few days before his mini break and she made us feel at home. Jill provided us with daily updates and we could relax, knowing he was having a brilliant time. Gus clearly likes Jill and has been very well looked after. We would definitely book Jill again. Gus would love to go on another mini break in the near future I’m sure 😊”

“Karen was great. Our two dogs really loved her and they don’t get on with everyone. She was a great calming energy for them and we really would recommend her. She took everything in her stride and dealt with it all.”

About: I’ve always loved animals since I was a little girl. I have a dog on my own a cat, I’ve always been an animals girl I currently work full-time, but my hours are very up-and-down at the moment. Meaning I have quite a lot of free time in between my work. Depending on the job at my house, I have a big garden that is all safely fenced in as well as a nice house with plenty of space for cat or dog. In the home, I’m very good at keeping everything clean and ensuring that the animals needs a Matt.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the combination of being very gentle, calm and intuitive in my care and I personalise approach to each pet’s individual needs. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pet sitting because every animal has their own personality, routines, and comforts, and I make it my priority to understand and honour those from the moment we meet. Whether I’m caring for a confident, energetic dog or a shy, sensitive cat, I adjust my pace, tone, and style so they feel completely safe and at ease. I also have hands-on experience with both puppies and senior pets. I have grown up with a German sheppard and a cocker spaniel. For puppies, I gently reinforce positive habits such as toilet training, basic cues, healthy play behaviour, and regular rest. With senior pets, I’m patient, observant, and attentive to mobility, medication timings, and any signs of discomfort or stress. I’m especially confident with anxious animals who need extra reassurance, calm presence, and consistency. Clear communication is another key part of my service. I send regular photo and video updates so you always feel connected, reassured, and fully informed about how your pet is doing. Above all, I treat every pet with genuine love, respect, and the same level of care I’d want for my own. At the moment Im available most days to visit or stay overnight, please get in touch with me to arrange a service time that works best for both. My priority is always to maintain each pet’s routine, comfort, and wellbeing while giving them plenty of attention and reassurance. I keep your home secure and tidy, respecting all instructions about keys, alarms, and household routines. I send regular updates, photos, and short videos so you feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I focus on consistency

Suffolk Coastal pet owners share their Rover experiences
This is our first time using Rover, and obviously Colin too. Our little mini-daxy, Tippi, seemed to adapt well to Colin staying, and on our return was very relaxed and content. From occasional photo updates, to answering our questions about how she was behaving, his communication was excellent. Tippi has been well exercised, despite the rainy weather, socialising in new places we haven't taken her to before. Now, a couple of hours after our return, she is lying on the sofa just as she always does at this time, total relaxed as if we'd never been away. Colin has obviously made Tippi totally comfortable and relaxed, which is testament to his dog-sitting ability. Highly recommended.

Felix is a very friendly and trustworthy person. With little notice I had a last minute request to work away. Normally I would like to meet the person before booking, but after a video call and messages I could tell Felix is a reliable character. Felix stayed the night, my dog Fern was very happy and the house was in perfect condition when getting back. Highly recommended and will certainly book through Felix again if he wanted to return. Thanks again Felix!
