“Mac’s stay with Emma was great. I think he had a nice holiday while I was away on my holiday. He settled back into his routine at home quickly and he is very happy so that shows he was well looked after by Emma and her family. Thanks Emma.”

“Thank you Hannah. You made May so welcome on such a hit day and had thought of everything. She clearly had a lovely time and even made a friend in Buddy. She slept so well last night and we could hear her having lovely dreams so a very happy pooch. Hopefully see you again soon. ☺️”

“Debbie had our dog Harley for one night. Prior to having him we met her at her house and had a good chat about Harley’s food, sleep, walks etc. he really took to both her and her husband, they are genuinely lovely people and really want to take care of the dogs they are looking after. A few weeks later Harley went to see Debbie for an hour and we left him to see how he would be, he was very settled and Debbie took the time to send a couple of pictures showing him chilled out. Subsequently I had no worries at all leaving him overnight. Debbie took really good care of him, sent a couple of pictures to reassure me and I think he thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I would have no hesitation in using Debbie again and have already booked another stay 😊 🐶”

“Michael was fantasti! He looked after our Basset Hound like she was his own. Michael sent me regular photos and videos. I will be using Michael again, whenever we need our Polly to be looked after.”

“Thank you Jill and family for taking Toffee in for the week. It's a home away from home for him at this stage. Thanks for the regular updates and photographs. Toffee's looking forward to his next holiday at yours!”

“Briony's communication was excellent from start to finish, and she kept us updated throughout the weekend with regular messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. Our dog is quite nervous around new people and in unfamiliar environments, but Briony made her feel right at home. She also got on well with Briony's two dogs. It was clear she was well cared for, comfortable, and happy during her stay. We would definitely recommend Briony, thank you again!”

“This is our first time using Rover and we could not be any happier with the choice we met. Judit and her family took wonderful care of our dog. Due to being July and our normal kennels fully booked , Rover came as a life saviour. We are fully recommending Judit and her family; they are professional, friendly and K had a home from home. Beautiful pictures and our dog was so happy there We will be using them again in the future! Thank you, Anca and James!”

“Tom was great in looking after our two dogs last minute! One of them is just a 15wk old puppy, and it was her first night away from us, but Tom was very accommodating and reassuring, and she seemed right at home. Will book again :)”

“Tanna and her partner have been absolutely incredible with our Golden Retriever Jackson! They boarded him for a week and looked after him in the first few days when he was sick (he had an upset tummy and vomiting because as a side effect of the deworming tablets we gave him). Tanna sent us daily updates, photos and videos and we loved to see how he became best friends with Nala! I would not hesitate to reach out to you again on our next holiday, thanks so much!”

“Jodie was wonderful with Lipa. She understood the potential issues with her age and kept in touch with me to reassure me. Lipa was extremely happy when we picked her up and we will definitely book Jodie again. Thank you so much!”

“Robert is absolutely brilliant. He is so kind and caring and really knows so much about dogs and the care they need. Our little dog was so happy with him for a few days and he sent us lots of photos and videos so we didn’t need to worry. 5 star care. We will be re-booking soon! Thanks again Robert,”

About: Myself and my partner Chip, love dogs. Since I was born I have had dogs as pets. These have been small and large dogs, such as Jack Russell, Basset hound to a golden retriever. I prioritize creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment, ensuring every dog feels comfortable and cherished. What sets me apart is my genuine connection with dogs, attention to detail, and commitment to treating them as part of the family. My partner chip has had a family dog, which was a staffy/cross. My names Kirsty I work full time, and my partner Chip also works full time. So during the week it can be tricky. However we are available during the weekends to care, play with and walk your dog. We have a small garden which is fenced off. We also have access to a larger green area for the dogs to enjoy. We love going for walks in the local fields and woods. We do not have any other pets at home.
“Claire was able to provide excellent care for our spaniel who is 12. We were reassured that he was being well cared for and we were updated on him each day. He enjoyed ot so much he did not want to come home! Thanks Claire!”

Leah was absolutely amazing with Axel — I couldn’t have asked for better care. She kept me updated every day with photos and videos, which really put my mind at ease, and it was clear he was happy, relaxed and being well looked after the whole time. The photos she took were incredible — honestly like professional shots! We love them so much we’re planning to frame them. Leah was also incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout. She really went above and beyond to make Axel feel comfortable and settled, and even helped us out on pick-up by bringing him to the station, which made things so much easier for us. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and Axel was treated with so much warmth and attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you again, Leah 🤍 xx

Adele and her family were fantastic sitters, I would not hesitate to recommend her pet boarding services. My Alfie enjoyed a lovely weekend in their home, I had regular updates with pics and I felt reassured he was fine. We will certainly use Adele’s services again if we need to go away. Nanette

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
