About: After 21 years working for His Majesty's Prison and Probation service, I finally decided to follow my passion to care for dogs. Since I was 8 years old, I have loved and taken care of my own dogs and those that belong to friends and family. I know how much dogs mean to their families but know that circumstances often mean owners need support to walk or visit their four legged family members. I am qualified in Canine First Aid, it is vital to keep your pets safe and happy in my care. Pet care is my only job so I have plenty of time to visit your dogs (to play, feed, toilet break, cuddle them) or to walk them (ensuring the walk is tailored to their needs). When dogs are in my care I will ensure they are always safe whether it be on a leaded walk or in your home. I also offer supervised off-lead play in my secure garden if this is required for your dog.

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have been caring for pets since I was around 10 years old. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, as well as pets of different ages, personalities and routines. I know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person looking after your pets, so I always take the time to understand their normal routine, likes, dislikes and any individual needs. I work from home, which gives me lots of flexibility and means I can spend plenty of time with the animals in my care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I’m happy to follow feeding and walking routines, provide lots of playtime and attention, and of course give plenty of cuddles to pets who want them! My aim is for your pet to feel safe, settled and loved while you’re away and for you to be able to relax knowing they’re in good hands. I work from home which gives me much larger availability to care for my own animals and to give me time to care for others. I live at home with my mum so thankfully we also have someone in for my dogs/cats and I am able to do the same for someone else. I work full-time from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. I can easily work pet care around my schedule, including regular feeding, toilet breaks, walks, playtime and lots of company. This also means pets in my care won’t be left alone for long periods. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I’ll follow their usual routine and any instructions you provide, including feeding, medication, walks and household rules. I make sure their environment is secure and pay close attention to their behaviour so I can spot if anything seems unusual. I also treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own.

About: I’ve helped my parents walking our dog since he was a puppy. I’ll feed him on time and company him when his family aren’t around. I’ll make sure he has a familiar person during thunderstorms and fireworks. I’m currently working part time and will be free most days of the week. I’m an animal person so they fit in perfectly with my free time. I have a fenced and good sized garden where my dog can safely play and have fun. I make sure my dog has a walk and playtime. He has his food accordingly and a relaxing evening before bed.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and sometimes babysit my sisters dog and cat, I’ve also been entrusted by neighbours and friends to care for their pets whilst they’re on holiday. I work part time so could definitely make time for pet care within my schedule, I have clubs and hobbies but I’m confident that timings can be sorted! I wouldn’t necessarily pet sit from my house just due to my current circumstances! However this may change in the future. As for a pet owners home, however you feel comfortable! I know each dog/cat has their own quirks and personalities.

I cannot recommend Amy highly enough. On our first meeting she showed a real true care with my cats and they took to her instantly too. Working away is always a worry when leaving our cats in the hands of others, especially as we have two with medical needs, so finding Rover and Amy has been a blessing. To receive a notification when Amy is with them is of great comfort and to see daily check list and photos was very welcomed. Arriving home to a lovely clean space where the trays and food areas were spotless was wonderful and or cats look like they had a blast and love their new kitty nanny! I will be booking Amy for our Holiday next year knowing that they are in safe and caring hands!

About: I’ve had pets all my life and they are constantly the best thing in my life. I’ve always loved animals but having pets that become part of your family is so special which is why I would love to help anyone out as I know it can be difficult at times to make sure they’re living as happily as can be! I work part time and am in college a few days a week but I still find myself having a lot of spare time especially in my evenings from 3 onwards. I also have two days off college where I feel I could be a lot of help to others even just for a dog walk. My routine never changes it is the same weekly so I would be happy to schedule weekly sessions to keep routine. I have a fenced garden so no escaping I’m afraid😂 I am more then happy to crate your animals if needed as I understand keeping them in your usual routine is important. I have a dog and a cat who love other animals which of course will keep yours company !

About: Although I haven’t had a dog of my own, I have plenty of hands on experience caring for dogs. I’ve spent a lot of time looking after a dog who was very special to me, and I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs when they’ve needed someone they trust. I’m comfortable with the day to day care dogs need, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, companionship and giving them plenty of attention. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, and I’ll take the time to get to know them. I’m happy to follow your usual routines and instructions closely, including any specific feeding, walking or care requirements. I’ll treat your dog with the same patience and care I would want for my own pet. I currently work part time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care around my routine. I’m available for pet sitting and drop in visits from 11am onwards, including weekends. I have time to give pets the attention and company they need, rather than having to rush a visit around a full time working day. I’m happy to work around each pet’s usual routine, including feeding, cleaning, playtime, walks and plenty of fuss and attention. I’ll always discuss your pet’s routine and needs with you beforehand so I can keep things as familiar and comfortable as possible while you’re away. I’m happy to care for pets in their own home, where they can stay in familiar surroundings and keep to their usual routine while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions carefully and make sure they have everything they need, including food, fresh water, clean litter trays, playtime, exercise and plenty of attention and companionship. For cats, I’m very happy to spend time playing with them, giving them fuss if they want it, or simply keeping them company if they prefer their own space. I’ll also keep their feeding and litter routine consistent. I’ll treat your home with respect and leave everything clean and tidy. I can also keep you updated with messages and photos while you’re away, so you know how your pet is getting on.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Tendring pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tendring choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
