About: ▪️I provide a calm, safe, home-from-home environment for your dog while you’re away -whether that’s for daycare or longer stays 🤍 Dogs are given space to settle, play, and relax at their own pace in a quiet, low-pressure home. ▪️I regularly foster behavioural dogs for rehabilitation, so I’m very comfortable working with nervous, quirky, or reactive dogs and always happy to adapt to each dog’s individual needs. ▪️At home I have two friendly sporting dogs - a collie and a whippet - who are both used to having visiting dogs stay with us 🌟 To keep things calm and safe, I only take a small number of dogs at a time. ▪️Meet & greets are always welcome, you’re very welcome to come inside and let your dog have a sniff around, however initial dog introductions will take place outside first - either in the garden on lead or preferably on a walk at our local park 🐶 I’ve found this helps keep everyone calm, relaxed, and set up for the best possible stay together - don’t hesitate to let me know if a different approach would work better for your dog though. ▪️I’ll also send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your dog is happy and well cared for while you’re away 💛 ▫️I work full time from home, so the dogs are rarely left alone 😊 We usually start the day with a walk around the local park or river, followed by a longer evening walk ☀️ ▫️If I have more than 3 dogs at a time (including my own), I’ll split walks to keep things calm and make sure everyone gets equal attention. I also occasionally book enclosed dog fields for safe off-lead/free-run time 🐶 ▫️I believe rest is just as important as exercise in a multi-dog home, so the dogs all get time to relax and properly switch off during the day. 🤍 Dogs are a huge part of my life, so your dog will be treated like part of the family while they’re here 💛 ▪️I’m happy to accommodate anything you need for your pet, every foster comes with their own set of needs and accommodations so I’m used to putting different things in place, to keep them comfortable and happy 💛 ▪️My garden is fenced with a grass and patio section. We can exercise with on lead and off lead walks or enclosed fields if you’d prefer! Whatever makes your dog happy!
About: My aim is to make sure your dog is happy, loved, entertained, walked and fed in the same way as if they were at home. I work from home so am here all day to look after your dog as I do my own gorgeous golden retriever, Stan. I wake up early (06:30) to say hi, provide breakfast, and let Stan and your lovely dog out in our safe garden followed by a cuddle. Then we’re out for a walk in the lovely open spaces on our doorstep. If it’s the weekend - and your dog is keen - we’ll go to the beach for a swim or paddle! Otherwise happy to stick to our lovely countryside walks :) Chill time then playtime in the garden followed by another walk later. Then dinner and an evening play and chill whilst we cook dinner and relax at home with Stan and his pal :) I have my own 7 year old golden retriever, Stan who is very chilled and gets on with all dogs and humans! We have a spacious home with a fenced garden. There are lots of lovely walks on our doorstep and we like to go to the beach for a swim or paddle too! Stan is my third child! I have two grown up kids at uni. Freddie, 22 and Poppy 20. I will look after your dog as if he were part of our family.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and have always loved caring for them. I grew up with many cats, and since I was little I’ve helped look after them, including taking in stray cats during my childhood. We also always had family dogs, and I loved spending time with them, playing, and taking them out for walks. In total, my whole family 5 dogs overall, so I’m very comfortable being around different breeds and personalities. I also have personal experience caring for a small tortoise named Frankie, so I’m used to looking after pets with different needs and routines. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy giving them attention, care, and companionship. I’m currently not working, so I have plenty of time to give pets the attention they need. I’m available for dog walks, home visits, boarding, and overnight stays, and I can be flexible to suit your pet’s routine. I’m happy to help with whatever is needed to make sure your pet feels comfortable and well cared for. I live in a small two-bedroom house, and although I don’t have a garden, there is a small nature reserve area just behind my home that’s perfect for dog walks. There’s also a bigger park about a 5 to 10 minute walk away, so there’s plenty of outdoor space and nature nearby for exercise and fresh air. I make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and cared for in a calm, safe environment.

About: With over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, I’ve dedicated much of my life to ensuring animals feel safe, loved, and well looked after in their owner's absence. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding routines, administering medication, or staying overnight to provide companionship and care, I tailor each visit to your pet’s unique needs and personality. I hold a BTEC qualification in Animal Care and Welfare, and my passion for animals has taken me as far as Africa, where I had the incredible opportunity to work in an animal sanctuary—an experience that deepened my understanding of animal behavior, compassion, and responsibility. My services include: Dog walking Feeding and fresh water refills Drop-in visits for garden breaks or medication Overnight stays in your home for consistency and comfort You can feel confident knowing your pets will be in experienced, gentle, and capable hands. I treat every animal as if they were my own—offering not just care, but kindness, patience, and genuine affection. I work shift work so each week varies with my availability but I do find I have many days off during the week. I will be reflecting my work schedule on my availability calender. I find caring for your pets whilst they still are in their home helps keep them comfortable. Before any stay or walk I would preferably like to meet your dog/cat, get to know them and their routine e.g feeding times, any medication they are on, any health issues, favourite toys and fears. I will also glady keep you updated with photos to help keep your mind at ease.
Colchester pet owners share their Rover experiences
Highly recommend Katie ! She recently watched my two cats for a few days, and she was an absolute gem. From her first interaction, it was clear how much she truly cares about animals. She didn't just drop in to feed them; she spent real quality time playing with them, keeping them company, and making sure they felt completely safe and loved. Her kindness and exceptional communication gave me total peace of mind while I was away. I will definitely be booking her again!

Charlotte was kind and gentle with our very old cat, who I think barely noticed we had gone away because of Charlotte's good ministrations! She was reliable and trustworthy, and coped well with all medication she had to give our cat, the litter tray, furballs, and mess from our longhaired hairy old cat.

Danielle was brilliant, everything was spotless when we got back, cats were happy, daily updates sent to us. Danielle even came to visit before we went away to meet us and the cats and when we got back to drop the keys off and a quick chat which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend!

Bettina was absolutely lovely with Tank and Alfie. You can instantly tell she’s a true dog person, and the boys took to her straight away. She was so caring and attentive, and I really appreciated the updates while she was there — it was very reassuring. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Highly recommend!
