“Our Finn loves ocean! She’s always on times and he is always a happy boy when we come home! I would 100% recommend her to look after your dogs! Thanks again ocean! 🫶”

“We honestly couldn’t be happier with the care Mark provided for our chihuahua, Twix. From the very beginning, Mark was absolutely wonderful — kind, reliable, professional, and clearly someone who genuinely loves animals. Every single visit was perfectly punctual, and he followed all of our instructions carefully and thoughtfully, which gave us huge peace of mind while we were away. Twix can be quite shy and cautious with new people at first, but Mark was incredibly patient and gentle with him. It was lovely to see how quickly Twix became comfortable around him and eventually made a real little friend in Mark. You could truly tell that he wasn’t just “checking in” on a dog, but actually spending quality time caring for him and making sure he felt safe and happy. Communication was excellent throughout, and knowing Twix was in such caring hands allowed us to fully relax during our trip. We genuinely feel very lucky to have found Mark, and honestly, whenever we need someone to look after our dog in the future, it will absolutely be Mark again without hesitation. Thank you so much, Mark — you’ve been amazing! 🐾”

“We asked Laura to step in at the last moment while we were on holiday - and luckily she was able to help. She was really flexible and friendly. One of the cats needed a tablet twice a day. Laura came, gave the tablet and checked in, checked water ( and petted) our 3 cats. She left helpful comments and took good pictures to reassure us that all was well. Thanks Laura. Would recommend Laura and use her again.”

About: My biggest so far challenge, was my “staff”breed. In fact, with lots of love, and an appropriate training approach, we bonded perfectly. Once or twice, i walked four “wiggle wags”at the same time, handful of treats worked just as well, we made a one “great pack” effort. A Caring for well-being of your pets will be depending on binding a joy of life, healthy snacks, and a cosy rest. I am self employed and managing most of my own schedule. I will find a time and i can fit in a pet care in, at my best. a Big garden with secured fencing, plus live next to one of the biggest parks in town, so if the pet dog is in need of good run, surely can provide that.

About: Since a young age I’ve always looked after family’s pets whilst they’re away on holiday. I frequently look after my friends dogs / cats whilst they go away either at theirs or mine. I love long walks & getting fresh air and am a huge animal lover. I work part time as a care and support worker, I spend a lot of time at home & in the garden in my spare time I have a fully fenced garden, with space to have a run around, I have room for anything you’d like to bring over to the house.
“Ren was a star, helping out a short notice and spending time with my elderly dog who took to her no problem. Thank you for extra attention and care helping mum with a couple things as well as my doggie. Trustworthy, reliable and great communication. Will use her again. Thanks again Ren. x”

“Can’t recommend Amanda enough. Amanda was reliable, and demonstrated a compassionate, loving nature. Having never used this service before, receiving daily photos and updates, gave us a lot of reassurance. Thank you! 🤩”

About: I work from home and live with my little 3 year old Labrador. I’ve looked after many dogs previously and quite often end up with my families dogs coming to stay as well. I’m up and out by 7ish with my Labrador, and she gets 3 good walks a day, either at the park or the beach or longer on a weekend when we can go exploring I have a fenced garden with grass and patio, my dog is very friendly and sociable so will play nicely along with others. I work from home so plenty of toilet breaks and multiple cuddles during the day
About: Must be child friendly 💜 One of my favourite things to do when taking care of dogs is taking them on days out and visiting different dog friendly places with them - if that’s also their thing! We love to go on a lot of walks, staying active and stimulated. We also have a cemetery moments away which is popular to us dog walkers for all types of dog personalities due to the lead only rule - great for those that prefer to be on a walk uninterrupted. I know that some dogs do struggle with separation anxiety which is why one of my strategies is to take them out on a walk almost immediately after a drop off as it rather quickly settles them and helps them to form a bond and trust with me. They will receive lots of love, attention and play - your dog’s happiness will be my top priority. I believe that I am not providing just a care for your companions but also in a way, their owners too. You will receive lots of photos and updates throughout their stay, that is something extremely important to me to provide for you as I know how at ease it’ll make you feel whilst you’re away from your pets and I will want to make sure you can enjoy your time away with all the reassurance you need! - I lock in prices so if my fees are to go up in the future they will always remain at the original price for you. I work early during the day whilst my partner works during the night, there will always be someone here at the house for your dog! I will like to know your routine to keep it as similar as it is when they’re at home I can. We will love for you to bring their home comforts.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since a young age for family members. It is something nice to do in my spare time as i love animals. I am comfortable with long walks and to play with dogs. However i comfortable to do short walks and just keep each other company if needs be. I have looked after family members elderly dogs and dealt with them being fairly poorly. I haven’t got much experience with puppies other than being around one for a couple of hours at a time I work full time, but my shifts can vary. If you are needing an evening sitter i could help out. occasionally i work saturdays so i will have a day off during the week which i am always available. Every sunday i am available unless i state other wise In my home i have a gate and an enclosed garden if pets were ever needed to be seen outside of there home. i am more than happy with dogs or cats for the day!
“Milly did a great job of coming to see Stan. I was apprehensive of how it would all work but Milly reassured me along the way. I will certainly be using Rover and Milly again. Thank you.”

About: I’ve always loved animals since I was a little girl. I have a dog on my own a cat, I’ve always been an animals girl I currently work full-time, but my hours are very up-and-down at the moment. Meaning I have quite a lot of free time in between my work. Depending on the job at my house, I have a big garden that is all safely fenced in as well as a nice house with plenty of space for cat or dog. In the home, I’m very good at keeping everything clean and ensuring that the animals needs a Matt.
About: I’ve grown up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m calm, patient, and reliable, and I always follow each pet’s routine closely. I prefer one-on-one walks so I can give dogs my full attention and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m happy to help with feeding, fresh water, playtime, and lots of affection, and I take responsibility and trust very seriously. I currently have a flexible schedule, which means I’m able to fit pet care easily into my daily routine. I’m available for walks and drop-in visits during weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I follow instructions carefully, respect your home, and keep pets on leads unless told otherwise. I make sure doors and gates are secure, routines are followed closely, and pets feel calm, safe, and well cared for at all times.
About: As a spaniel-retriever owner to a 1.5 year old pup, I fully understand how important it is for you to find the right person to take care of your dog so hope to show you I’m a reliable, love fitness (will take willing dogs on runs if requested!), and love to provide photo or text pupdates if you like. I do a bit of photography on the side so if you’d like me to bring my camera - please do say! Please let me know anything I should be aware of about your dog: quirky habits, likes, dislikes etc. and I’ll do my best to make sure they have the best time in my company. My main work right now is sports photography meaning I have a flexible schedule and able to work from home mostly unless I’m on a shoot. I can cover evenings and weekends also. I would treat any pet owner’s home with respect, leaving it exactly as I found it. You are very welcome to message me with anything I should know about looking after your dog or that would put your mind at ease. I’m very happy to accommodate requests.
About: Hi! I’m Mai — I’ve been a dog owner for over 10 years and have lots of experience puppy-sitting and dog-sitting for friends and family. I absolutely love dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s a walk, a cuddle, or just hanging out. I’m calm, patient, and reliable, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m familiar with different temperaments and needs, and I always aim to make dogs feel safe, happy, and relaxed in my care. Looking forward to meeting your pup! I am currently working as part time, my schedule allows me to be flexible, especially in the early mornings, evenings, and weekends — perfect for walks, drop-ins, or pet-sitting. “Rhiannon was fantastic with my cats for a drop in visit one of my cats is very anxious but she came out for Rhiannon for food and play. Rhiannon was very friendly and made sure she knew everything before visiting our girls. I got some lovely photos through the visit too so i could be reassured they was ok. I’ll definitely be getting back in touch with Rhiannon again.”

About: I absolutely adore dogs & cats. Iv grown up with both all my life whether it be at my parents when I was younger or around one of my sisters and brothers dogs, I think they make great companions and definitely become apart of the family! Ellie truly is a cat lover. Being very skeptical about inviting a stranger into our home and to look after our cats I wasn't sure about using this service...until I met Ellie. We had a meet and greet a few days before and I took the plunge hoping my gut was right. It was. Ellie looked after our cats like they were her own, sending daily updates and photos, many making my laugh knowing the antics our cats get up to. Ellie Completely put me at ease and I won't hesitate to book her again

Denise was great all week while sitting for Buffy. It was the first time I’ve had to leave her alone for so long, and Denise quickly put my mind at ease. We received photo or video updates every day so I could see that Buffy was completely comfortable around Denise. Would definitely book again.

Laura is a lovely, kind person and best of all my Lily cat liked her straight away! The service she provided was personalised to fit Lily's needs and the twice daily Rover Report ensured I was informed of Lily's welfare. I am very happy to recommend Laura to anyone who wants their furbabies cared for.

Couldn’t be happier with Jodie. She took care of our cat Bella so well, we got updates, photos and Jodie went above and beyond. We had ducklings hatch in our garden and Jodie fed and led them to the river with no questions asked. Couldn’t recommend her enough. Her care and compassion really shows and Bella was so happy 😀 will be booking Jodie again in a couple weeks for another holiday 😀

This is the first time we have used a drop in sitter and we were a little apprehensive because our little girl is shy/timid/aloof with new people. We booked Lucy and asked if she could meet our dog Loki before the drop in visit to see how Loki would react. All I can say is, wow!. It took Loki a couple of minutes to accept Lucy, which is unheard of. She instantly felt at ease with Lucy, as my wife and I did. On the night of the drop in, we received a message with how the sitting went which was really appreciated. We 100% recommend Lucy. They say dogs know, and that’s good enough for us!
Rhiannon was fantastic with my cats for a drop in visit one of my cats is very anxious but she came out for Rhiannon for food and play. Rhiannon was very friendly and made sure she knew everything before visiting our girls. I got some lovely photos through the visit too so i could be reassured they was ok. I’ll definitely be getting back in touch with Rhiannon again.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ipswich choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
