“Sofia was great! She dropped in twice a day, for 6 days, while we were on vacation. We had an unexpected health issue with our one dog, and she went out of her way to make his life easier while we were gone. We were sent plenty of photos and could see that all of our pets really connected well with Sofia. I would recommend her to anyone who's looking for a great pet sitter!”

“Tim has been incredibly professional and great with out year and a half year old Australian cattle! After only two visits she is incredibly excited to see him despite normally be anxious with new people.”

“I just arrived home after a four-day trip, and let me tell you all a thing: this is the calmest my cats have ever been upon my return from being away. Lisa did a fantastic job looking after my two fur babies, so much so that I don’t think they even missed me! And on top of that, she collected my packages for me (none of which were supposed to arrive until after I returned). Thank you so much, Lisa!”

“Katelyn was awesome with my kitties! They all loved her, and even the shy one came out. Very prompt with updates and visit pictures, everyone was well fed and the boxes tidy. Would highly recommend!”

“Miranda is awesome!!! She is always loving with my pups and truly cares for them! They love when she comes over to play ball, and I always get pictures! She is my go-to sitter!!”

“Skylar did a fantastic job taking care of my two cats while I was away for 2 weeks on business. My cats warmed up to her quickly. The care was complicated by some medical issues with my cats, and the fact that I had just recently moved to a new place, but she handled everything fantastically and kept the cats happy and healthy”

“Rachael took GREAT care of my 5 month old puppy! Watching a puppy can be a lot of more work and I couldn’t thank her enough! I would recommend her to anyone I know looking for a sitter.”

“Mackenzie was an amazing pet sitter! She was always timely, friendly, and professional, which gave me so much peace of mind. I especially appreciated how she was able to get my shy cat to take her meds which is no small feat! On top of that, her photography skills were such a bonus; I loved getting thoughtful, high-quality updates. I’m so grateful for her care and would absolutely recommend her!”

“Jacob was extremely detailed and asked questions I hadn’t thought of in order to make sure my girl had the most positive experience! I am extremely pleased with Jacob’s work.”

“Kristin was amazing with our lab, Lilo. She was so caring and was fantastic with communication and pictures. Gave us such peace of mind to know that our pup was in such good hands. Lilo already misses her (and the PB Kong treats)!”

“Natalie was an outstanding pet sitter! Our booking went very smoothly. She definitely has a way with animals, since my cats are normally pretty shy but would come out to see her during their check-ins. I felt very at ease knowing they were being checked on by someone they liked, and appreciated her prompt updates. Would definitely book again!”

“I feel so lucky to have found Rachael to check in on my two cats every day while I was away for 10 days. She’s super communicative and reliable and I would recommend to her anyone and be so happy to work with her again.”

“Amanda was amazing with our 2 pups. Both my dogs were so calm and took right to Amanda. Amanda sent pictures with every visit and communication was spot on. We needed someone at last minute and Amanda was very accommodating. Will definitely be using her services in the near future.”

“Natalie is the kind of caregiver who goes above and beyond to ensure your furry ones get all the care and attention they deserve. She did a great job taking care of our two wonderful labs while we were away. We highly recommend her for any short term or long term services you may be looking for.”

About: I've always had a dog in my life. Since a child we always had a family dog and always have loved them. I now have the best cat ever. For many years I've watched friends pets (and new furry friends made on rover). It's always fun getting to play with them, take them out for long walks, and loving them as if they were my own. Due to my full time job, I'm mostly available Friday and weekends. I know that your pet and I will have a great time together if we get the chance! Thanks! I only work four days a week so I have plenty availability. Whether it’s just a quick day trip or a long weekend getaway I can be available for your pet I always take care of a pet as if it were my own. Some animals have special needs so I always make sure I follow their directions.

Valerie took great care of my cat for a whole week. I felt comfortable since she sent detailed descriptions of what they were up to, and I loved the pics including a festive new year pic!! I will continue to pick Valerie as my first choice cat sitter since she is reliable and my cat loves her.

Lisa took great care of our two cats and even sent photos (at least, of the one cat who didn’t hide!)! We rebooked her for the second time and she was as prompt, professional and clear as before with communication. She even helped us out during a drop-in visit by bringing our trash bin from the curb, which we really appreciated!

Xaymary was wonderful with our cat for drop-ins. She communicated very well and even sent us videos. She was so caring towards him while he was home alone. We needed to add an extra day and she was accommodating and responsive. I would definitely recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Trooper. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
