“Taylor is amazing with my dogs. Excellent communication, gentle with them when they were stubborn and showed care when they wouldn’t eat. I’m really grateful for her and how she cares for my precious pups and my home.”

“PHENOMENONAL...we were out of options and turned to rover.com to find a sitter for our fur babies. After the first day of updates and photos we received from Tabor we were at ease. Tabor stayed with our animals and took care of them as if they were his own. Highly recommend him if you need a sitter or any kind.”

About: I was a pet groomer for 9 years! I now am a full time stay at home mom. I so badly wanted to work with dogs again, so instead of continuing my profession in dog grooming, I'd like to be their safe place! This is a relaxed environment, where your dog will be loved with small walks, plenty of attention, and lots of cuddles! Also, if you need your dog to have basic grooming, I can provide that as well. This is a place where your dog can relax as if he never left his own room. I have small children and a cat ( who comes and goes at his leisure ) I would love to accommodate you and your pet! Please don't hesitate to ask me anything! Other than providing a safe space and grooming; I also have extensive experience dealing with elderly, or pets that need extra medical assistance. I am comfortable administering medicine as well as shots for your diabetic pets from my previous experience with clients. I also can offer a general assessment in your pets health. While they are in my care they will be securely monitored at all times. As a stay at home mom, I only leave home twice a day to pick up and drop off my children to school. Then as I’m home your pet will be going everywhere I go! I take small walks throughout the day suited to your pets energy level. A tired pet, is a happy one at home! While your pet is in my care you can rest assured that not only will they have their own dog beds, but also free range of 90% of the home. They are allowed on all the beds and furniture as well that if they like or need their own quiet space, we have a place wherever they feel most at ease. Our home has a very unfenced large back yard, your dog regardless, would be on leash at all times. Also, we have a park right next to our house in a very walkable area near Valley Forge.
“I wish that more people in the world were like Tim. His integrity, responsibility, and dedication are rare qualities. I was at my wits end with stress from moving across the country, but I had to travel for work. I was worried sick about my poor cat that had been through so much stress already. From the first day, I felt that I could trust Tim with my cat and my home. With clear and regular communication, I could see that my very shy cat was warming up to Tim and it gave me a sense of relief that I hadn’t felt in weeks. Despite the facts that my furniture hadn’t even arrived (and arrived while I was away!), that the house was cold, and had few amenities, Tim never complained and handled everything graciously. Simply put, Tim was there for me when I needed help, and he has my eternal trust and gratitude. I’ve already asked him to stay again when I have to travel in a couple of months.”

“We are new to the Northeast and planned a trip out of the country for our anniversary. Dustin was very responsive from the beginning. He came to the house prior to meet our pups and get a scope of the house. He kept us informed of their well being with pictures and even made Henry's birthday special while we were gone. He also took great care of the house. Dustin will definitely be our first reserve on future travels. We know both the pups and the house are in great hands.”

“Joanna was great! She gave the perfect amount updates on my greyhound, Minerva while we were away and she kept our house super neat and clean. Minerva was so relaxed when we got home so we know she had a great weekend too! Would highly recommend!”
About: I am new to Rover :)) I have taken care of dogs since high school. I graduated college in 2023 with a degree in Health Sciences. I am currently working as an aide at a physical therapy clinic, and looking to make extra money. I love pet sitting and caring for animals is one of my strong suits. I am always willing to accommodate you and your dogs needs and I will always care for them like they are my own! I am currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I am a home body, so I am always at home and also have my mom and grandmom in the home to help if need be. In a clients home, I will leave it completely up to you, how I walk, feed, crate, etc. your dog. But I will always care for your dog as if they were my own! For pet sitting at my home, I do not have a fenced in yard but I usually walk the dogs on leashes around my yard or take them to the park by my house to walk them. I can crate them anywhere in the home if needed. I also have plenty of dog toys/crates/ dog accessories from my own dog.
“Lisa was great! She kept me updated on all activities and ensured Buddy’s meds were administered on time daily. I am happy to have found her and hope to book with her again soon!”

“Abby is a gem! She communicates beautifully and her updates are concise and informative. Our dog Pia gets the gulpies occasionally. Abby relayed that Pia was having occasionally gulping and that she was giving her ice cubes as instructed. What else? We asked if she could boil some chicken and rice, giving Pia small amounts. She did and within 24 hours, Pia was back to her old self. We were comforted knowing that our fur child was in such capable hands.”

“Abigail was a great sitter for our dogs. We could tell from the meet and greet that she genuinely cared for them. She took great care of them while we were gone, even as one of our dogs was dealing with an upset stomach. Abigail kept us updated with texts and pictures throughout her time with them. We highly recommend her to anyone looking to hire a sitter.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and fish for over 25 years and have experience with pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I grew up with Siberian Huskies and have spent my life around animals, both as a pet owner and caregiver. I provide attentive, dependable care tailored to each pet’s routine and needs! My experience includes walks, feeding, administering oral medications, playtime, companionship, photo updates, and monitoring pets for any changes in behavior or well-being while you’re away. In addition to pet care, I have experience maintaining freshwater aquariums, including water quality monitoring and tank care, as well as basic indoor plant care. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away! I have a flexible part-time work schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I enjoy staying active through walks and spending time with animals, so pet sitting and dog walking are a rewarding part of my routine. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine and individual needs, from feeding schedules and walks to medications and favorite activities. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience while keeping owners updated with messages and cute photos! I make sure to treat every client’s home with respect and care.
About: Animals have been part of my life since I was a baby. My first dog, Mixie (a Japanese Tibetan Spaniel), and I grew up together. She met me at the bus stop every day after school — this was before leash laws — and she was truly my best friend. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do; it’s who I am. All of my pets have been rescues, and each one has been treated as family. Over the years I have: • Raised and cared for rescued dogs and cats of all ages • Adopted my Maine Coon, Tigger, at 12 weeks old and cared for her through adulthood (she even traveled with me from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania) • Raised my Maine Coon mix, Abigail, from kittenhood through 16 years of age — attentive to senior care needs as she aged • Lived for 1.5 years in a multi-pet household with: – Chloe, a 3-year-old Pit Bull – Bear, a 14-year-old Pit Bull/Labrador mix (senior care experience) – Maggie, a tuxedo cat (cared for 10 years) – Max, a tabby (cared for 10 years) – Abigail, my Maine Coon mix During that time, I managed vet visits, medications, feeding schedules, litter maintenance, senior care, and daily backyard exercise and enrichment • Raised Brumby at my apartment — he was my emotional support dog and went everywhere with me, including daily trips to the on-site dog park and errands • Loved and cared for bonded rescued kittens Muffin & Cookie I am comfortable with: ✔ Vet appointments ✔ Administering medications ✔ Senior pets and aging care ✔ High-energy dogs (including young Pit Bulls) ✔ Multi-pet households ✔ Feeding routines & special diets ✔ Structured exercise and enrichment I treat every animal with patience, love, and respect. Their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being always come first. If you’re looking for someone responsible, experienced, and truly devoted to animals, I would be honored to care for your pets. 🐾 Reliable 🐾 Trustworthy 🐾 Flexible scheduling Please feel free to message me to discuss your pet’s needs! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I live in Jeffersonville and work Monday–Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in Berwyn, which allows me to provide early morning visits before work and evening visits after work. I am fully available on weekends and can often accommodate requests with just a few hours’ notice. I’m also happy to stay overnight during the week or on weekends when needed. I’m organized and dependable, and I schedule pet visits thoughtfully so every cat receives my full attention — whether that’s feeding, medication, playtime, litter maintenance, or simply companionship and comfort. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s established routine as closely as possible to minimize stress. I carefully review feeding schedules, medication instructions, litter or potty routines, exercise needs, and any special preferences beforehand. I provide enrichment, playtime, affection (if the pet welcomes it), and detailed updates so owners feel completely at ease while away. I am attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, or bathroom habits and will notify owners immediately if anything seems off. Cleanliness is important to me — I keep litter areas tidy, wipe food areas, and leave your home exactly as I found it. If caring for a pet in my home (if applicable), I provide a calm, safe environment with structured feeding, supervised play, and plenty of attention. I do not overcrowd pets and prioritize comfort and safety at all times. My goal is for your pet to feel secure, loved, and relaxed while you’re away — and for you to feel confident they are in responsible hands.
“Angelica was great with our large, high-energy dog. She was in constant communication with us throughout the weekend, and took our dog on multiple long walks throughout the day. She is so nice and someone you want to leave your dog with! We will definitely book again, she took great care of our dog!!!”

“Emilee was amazing with Charlie! And I was worried because Charlie is a 3 year old, big lab and full of energy. She gave daily updates and pictures and made our family feel so at ease knowing our baby was in great hands! Will for sure rebook!! Thanks for such a great experience Emilee!!”

“Jake is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! We have tried countless sitters and no one even comes close to Jake! We came to the happiest pups ever and the cleanest house. He is just so kind and considerate and great with our dogs. I can’t imagine ever using anyone else!”

“Katie was absolutely phenomenal with my dogs! One of them wasn’t feeling their best unexpectedly, and she went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and cared for. She was so attentive, thoughtful, and kept me updated every step of the way. You can truly see how much she loves animals and how naturally it comes to her. My dogs adored her, and I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. Katie is a well-rounded, responsible, and compassionate young woman—I can’t recommend her enough. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone looking for amazing pet care!”

Abby is a gem! Julia took exceptional care of our senior German Shepherd while we were away on a much-needed family trip. For the first time, we could travel together without leaving someone behind to manage her care. Our old girl requires multiple medications throughout the day and has been dealing with back leg issues since last year, so boarding elsewhere simply wasn't an option. We discovered Julia offers in-home house sitting on Rover, which was perfect for us. After several days away, we returned to a happy, wagging old pup who greeted us at the door! She was clearly well-fed, given all her meds on schedule, and got gentle exercise to help keep her mobility in check. Coming home to her like that lifted such a weight off our shoulders—no more guilt about leaving her, and we got to focus on our college visits as a family. Julia's attentive, reliable care made all the difference. We're already booked with her again and highly recommend her to anyone with a senior pet who needs compassionate, in-home sitting. Thank you, Julia!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Trooper on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 5,727 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Trooper. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Trooper walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Trooper maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trooper choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Trooper. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
