“Taylor was truly incredible! We felt so comfortable leaving our four pets with her, and she handled them all perfectly! Some of them were on medication and had specific feeding instructions, which she perfectly handled. Our animals loved her instantly-even our shy cat was giving her cuddles the second day! She took care of our house and went above and beyond cleaning up litter and removing snow! I can’t recommend her enough”

“Tim was FANTASTIC!! I went away for eight days and was worried how my fur baby was going to be emotionally. Only to my surprise and delight he was loved so much more than one could anticipate! I didn't know Patch (dog) was going to receive daily walks, hikes, creek cool offs, bathing and non-stop love! It was as he had a camp counselor move into my home for the week and play! The house was cleaned prior to us coming home, even sheets and towels washed and folded. I received daily posts and videos of the dog's time with Tim. I must say Patch loved him and was sad to see him go. Would I use him again? ABSOLUTLEY!!! Thank you, Tim!! Until next time”

“Joanna was great! She gave the perfect amount updates on my greyhound, Minerva while we were away and she kept our house super neat and clean. Minerva was so relaxed when we got home so we know she had a great weekend too! Would highly recommend!”
“Natalia was incredible! She took amazing overnight care of our rescue pup with separation anxiety. Throughout the booking process and the period our dog was in Natalia’s care, she was warm, responsive, and accommodating. I can’t recommend Natalia enough!!”

“Eva was amazing! She sent me pictures morning and night of my dogs. When I came home, my house was in perfect shape and my dogs were happy. I highly recommend Eva! Thanks so much for taking such great care of Oreo and Jackson. We will definitely use you again!!!”

“Valerie was wonderful with my cat! My friend recommended her to me when I needed an overnight sitter at the last minute, and luckily Valerie was available. She was kind to work with and took notes on Momo’s care which I appreciated. My first experience on Rover was a good one because of her! 10/10 recommend”

About: Throughout my life i’ve grown up with dogs and later in life with cats. I have also worked at boarding places here and there and currently work as a veterinary assistant at a clinic. Currently I am working full time at the clinic T-F 8-6. I will sometimes work a Saturday job seasonly but that won’t start until around spring. That being said I am available currently all weekends and mondays as well to walk your pups! Making sure everything is safe first and then clean. I will mainly be doing walking services so any poop or mess will be cleaned up on the walk and same for inside if need be! I will always greet your dog in a safe way to ensure safety on both ends and trust.
“Katie was absolutely phenomenal with my dogs! One of them wasn’t feeling their best unexpectedly, and she went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and cared for. She was so attentive, thoughtful, and kept me updated every step of the way. You can truly see how much she loves animals and how naturally it comes to her. My dogs adored her, and I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. Katie is a well-rounded, responsible, and compassionate young woman—I can’t recommend her enough. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone looking for amazing pet care!”

“Amy did a fantastic job taking care of my two Yorkshire terriers. I love the ability to let them stay in their own house and play in their own yard without being crated. Amy made that possible and I will definitely book her services again.”

I always make sure that the pets are taken care of first and if I can’t do it, then I always let you know in advance. I will always love to take a walk with the pets or spend one on one time playing with them. I love to bond with any animal
“My husband & I were really nervous to have someone house sit, but not only was Ryan awesome with our Yorkie & Fox Terrier but we returned to a clean house. He followed all of our well & gave daily reports on our fur-babies. Thanks so much Ryan!!”

“Meghan stayed three nights in our home with our Belgian malinois and everything went super smoothly! This was our first in-home boarding experience with our dog, and we were so happy to return to a calm, happy dog who would normally be very anxious after out of home boarding. She sent lots of updates/pictures and always responded in a timely manner.”

“Beverly was awesome. This was the first time we were away from our 150lb mastiff puppy and we were worried about him. Bev made us very comfortable during the meet and greet and communicated with us up until the the sit started to ensure she had all the details and care instructions. On the day of the sit she showed up right on time and settled in before we had to leave, so the puppies would get used to her being in the house. During the next few days she took wonderful care of our furbabies. She played with them and cuddled with them when they were moping and was persistent about trying to get them to eat. Pretty soon they were following her around everywhere. She sent us a lot of pictures of them and the house was immaculately clean when we got back. We would love for her to care for our babies again in the future.”

Abby is simply FANTASTIC! I have a cardigan corgi who, let’s just say, isn’t the easiest to watch overnight (think stubborn, Velcro, determined, etc.). In other words, a typical corgi who has never been away from me for more than a quick overnight or two. I was quite hesitant to leave her alone knowing how stubborn she can be, but Abby did an amazing job coaxing Tottie (said willful corgi) out of her self-imposed-mad-at-mom-for-leaving-corner. She was fantastic with sticking to her specialized diet due to a kidney stone surgery and was cognizant of the heat, so would take Tot for longer walks post sunrise/sunset once it cooled off. Even better, she knew when Tottie “wasn’t feeling it,” and made sure she went home before even remotely approaching the point of overheating. She also played with Tot indoors when it was too hot outside and made sure she had many snuggles and kisses. Since I was several states away, Abby sent daily updates and photos of the two of them - now best pals - on various adventures or being homebodies. When it was time for me to come home, she left the house incredibly clean (far neater than I had left it!), and even made up the bed with clean sheets so that when arrived home (around 10 PM), I could just head to bed. She also went out of her way and purchased a trellis for my tomato vine, which had really blossomed while I was gone and had overrun what I had originally set up for it, thereby saving all the tomato’s! Bottom line: Abby is the absolute BEST and I will be using her here on out! Thanks so much, Abby!

Kathleen is fantastic! She is communicative and really understands our dogs quirks. She is attentive to their needs and even reminded me about our dog's medication when I forgot to leave it out! She is our go-to when we need a dog sitter. Highly recommend. Thank you, Kathleen!

Julia took exceptional care of our senior German Shepherd while we were away on a much-needed family trip. For the first time, we could travel together without leaving someone behind to manage her care. Our old girl requires multiple medications throughout the day and has been dealing with back leg issues since last year, so boarding elsewhere simply wasn't an option. We discovered Julia offers in-home house sitting on Rover, which was perfect for us. After several days away, we returned to a happy, wagging old pup who greeted us at the door! She was clearly well-fed, given all her meds on schedule, and got gentle exercise to help keep her mobility in check. Coming home to her like that lifted such a weight off our shoulders—no more guilt about leaving her, and we got to focus on our college visits as a family. Julia's attentive, reliable care made all the difference. We're already booked with her again and highly recommend her to anyone with a senior pet who needs compassionate, in-home sitting. Thank you, Julia!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Trooper walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Trooper maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trooper choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
