Joanna was great! She gave the perfect amount updates on my greyhound, Minerva while we were away and she kept our house super neat and clean. Minerva was so relaxed when we got home so we know she had a great weekend too! Would highly recommend!

Emilee is great! She did so well with our two pups. She was quick to respond to my inquiry, came out for a meet and greet, and was happy to meet us again before we left. She sent many pictures when we were away and we did not have to worry about our dogs at all while we were traveling. Our dogs aren’t always easy and we had no issues at all. I would definitely recommend and will be using Emilee again for sure ?

Melanie was a huge help. Having a dog with anxiety it’s hard to know who should care for Blaze. Melanie gave her outside time, treats and rubs and we came home to a very happy dog! ( a first!). It was so nice knowing our pup was well cared for . Melanie communicated well, was on time, answered any questions I had as a new dog parent and understood our dog’s needs. Thank you Melanie! We would love to have her over again.

We used Abigail over 4th of July weekend and she was great about giving our dogs medication on time and helping them stay calm through the fireworks and thunderstorms. It was our second time using Abigail and she's been fantastic both times. She sent plenty of photos and kept us updated throughout the day on how our boys were doing.

About: My name is Sophia and I have loved animals since I was little. I have 3 fur babies myself! Brandy, Bourbon and Whisky (my little bar cart if you will). I also have a rabbit named Toast and all 4 of them are the light of my life. Every morning I wake up and they greet me with kisses and demands for pets. Of course I always give in. I have a bachelors in large animal sciences, have volunteered at forgotten cats for years, and have worked in emergency, oncology and dermatology departments. Currently I work at another veterinary clinic that helps dogs and cats get quick emergency care for more minor issues like ear infections. With all my past experience your fluffy ones will be in good hands! Since I work during week days and sometimes weekends, I would try to be back with your pet(s) as much as possible! (I work a total of 4 days a week and my schedule can be random since I’m in veterinary emergency). Weekdays I work 3pm -11pm and weekends I would work 10am-8pm. Any other time would be spent taking your pet on walks, brushing out their fur, giving them treats and all the attention they deserve! I can stay with/walk pets before work on weekdays. Weekends I would be unable to walk them unless you are okay with my hours and I am doing overnight or long term pet sitting. I would take your dogs for walks or let them out into the yard as much as possible. I will follow instructions left by you and make sure to give many updates and pictures! I believe pictures are the best way to feel comfortable with your pets care while also getting those cute pet moments while your away!

The whole process booking with Katie was easy! We needed her help with our two kittens who need a bunch of attention throughout the week and when we arrived home everything was in order and under control. She did a great job watching over the kittens during our vacation and made our arrival peaceful by having them already taken care of. She is so sweet and caring. We received updates at least twice a day about the day which we LOVED ! We appreciate you for all your help! Thank you.

About: I was a pet groomer for 9 years! I now am a full time stay at home mom. I so badly wanted to work with dogs again, so instead of continuing my profession in dog grooming, I'd like to be their safe place! This is a relaxed environment, where your dog will be loved with small walks, plenty of attention, and lots of cuddles! Also, if you need your dog to have basic grooming, I can provide that as well. This is a place where your dog can relax as if he never left his own room. I have small children and a cat ( who comes and goes at his leisure ) I would love to accommodate you and your pet! Please don't hesitate to ask me anything! Other than providing a safe space and grooming; I also have extensive experience dealing with elderly, or pets that need extra medical assistance. I am comfortable administering medicine as well as shots for your diabetic pets from my previous experience with clients. I also can offer a general assessment in your pets health. While they are in my care they will be securely monitored at all times. As a stay at home mom, I only leave home twice a day to pick up and drop off my children to school. Then as I’m home your pet will be going everywhere I go! I take small walks throughout the day suited to your pets energy level. A tired pet, is a happy one at home! While your pet is in my care you can rest assured that not only will they have their own dog beds, but also free range of 90% of the home. They are allowed on all the beds and furniture as well that if they like or need their own quiet space, we have a place wherever they feel most at ease. Our home has a very unfenced large back yard, your dog regardless, would be on leash at all times. Also, we have a park right next to our house in a very walkable area near Valley Forge.

She was kind to work with and took notes on Momo’s care which I appreciated. My first experience on Rover was a good one because of her! 10/10 recommend

We highly recommend her services, we felt very safe leaving our doodle and home to her for the weekend.

Tabor N. is such an amazing dog sitter! We have two small dogs, and he went over and beyond to make sure they were taken care of while we were away. Tabor spent the night four nights. During the four nights, and five days, he made sure that he was at our home a majority of the time until he had to go to work. When he did go to work, or had to leave our home for whatever reason, he wasn't gone long. He was punctual, respectful of our home, and most importantly, incredibly sweet and attentive to our pups! Chewy and Tango can be very scared around strangers, but Tabor made them feel comfortable right away! Tabor also made us smile many times with videos and photos of our babies which made us feel so comfortable, at ease and happy! We highly recommend Tabor to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! We will definitely be using him again many times in the future! Thank you, Tabor! Thank you for caring and loving our pups as much as we do! They really are our babies... Thank you Rover.com for finding amazing caring people for us!

Cara was the most amazing dog sitter!!! I was out of town for almost a week and didn’t have to worry for a second about my dogs - she took them on long walks downtown, took them to swim in her pool, and they absolutely loved her! I swear they were hoping she would walk in the door when I got home instead of me. Highly recommend Cara for all your pet sitting needs. Thanks Cara!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Oaks

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Oaks on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,563 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oaks. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oaks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oaks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oaks. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
