Availability

I have some flexibility within my day to aid with pet care. I can drop in mid-day if need be, which is helpful for those who need care for their animal when most people are in office. My availability is communicated through my calendar, which is updated at least every other day.

Safety, trust & environment

I currently provide drop-in visits to pet parents with cats and exotic animals. I am detail-oriented, neat, and have aptitude when it comes to cat behavior. I have worked at a vet office in the area, a pet store chain, doggie daycare, and have assisted in a reptile breeding company with feeding, cage cleanings, and general maintenance. ~ I maintain a Star-Sitter status with Rover, meaning that I have a track record of reliable pet care. Since joining in 2018, I have never cancelled a service. ~I have since upgraded my background check to the Advanced Background check now available through Rover, offering evem more piece of mind to my clients. ~I am cat & dog first aid and CPR certified through PetTech First Aid through 2027.

Information Anna Maria M. would like to know about your pet

I prefer to watch animals that most sitters would be afraid of. I feel like this gives people who own exotics a little breathing room when it comes to vacations and time away. If your friends and family say, "I have to feed it WHAT?", I'm your person. Prior to your time away, I would love to get a run-down of: 1. Medications-names of medications and who they're for, times of administering, dosage, mode of administering (injections, oral meds, etc.). 2. Allergies to any foods or treats 3. Hazards in the home that need to be removed/put away in absence (string toys, etc.). 4. Locations in which I can find animals in case they are shy (under beds, behind dressers). 4. Any special instructions when interacting with your pet (not a fan of ear touching, no pets at all).

A typical day

I currently do not go on walks with pets. Most of the animals I prefer to watch do not require walks and are drop-in visits. I am available for visits at pretty much any time of day. Medically significant cats with timed medication administering get priority for exact times; I communicate any schedule changes with my clients before any visits take place. No surprises here! I also take care of light housework, including bringing in packages and mail, watering houseplants, vacuuming litter and trafficked areas, trash and recycling removal, and pet fountain cleaning.

Anna Maria M. has Star Sitter status

The Star Sitter program highlights responsive sitters who deliver highly rated care and have a history of listing accurate availability and preferences, making it easier for pet parents to find the best care for their pets.

Cats and Exotics. Period.

Cat care experience

Cat care is my expertise, especially those with special medication and dietary needs. I understand the anguish in finding a pet sitter for such special needs; I was the owner of a diabetic cat named Kadabra, and finding someone comfortable with injections seemed daunting. My goal is to provide the more in-depth care medicated cats need in order to set owners at ease so that they may enjoy their time away, knowing that their babies are in capable hands. During my visits with medically time-dependent cats, I will include times injections/medications were given in the Rover card as an added relief while you're away.

Thanks, as always, for taking care of our pets! You go above and beyond with cleaning the automatic feeder and waterer, bringing in packages and the mail, etc. We appreciate it!

Thanks again Anna Maria for your loving care of Murr! It’s so nice to have someone so reliable that we trust completely to do an excellent job taking care of him while we’re away. Especially since he now has a medication schedule that needed to be followed.

Thanks so much for taking great care of Hope and the chickens! It makes our vacations much more enjoyable knowing you’ve got them covered! And I appreciate you collecting the mail/packages as well :)

Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
