About: Hi there! I'm Karly, a lifelong animal lover who has been caring for dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. I spent about four years as a dedicated dog walker in Southern California, building a loyal community of pups (and their humans) who kept coming back because they knew their babies were genuinely loved and well looked after. These days I'm based in Oakland, and I'm so excited to bring that same energy to your dog. Over the years I've lived with dogs of all shapes, personalities, and breeds from big goofy pitbulls to spirited blue heelers, so I'm comfortable with the whole spectrum. I'm also experienced with oral medications and the extra patience and care that special-needs or picky pets require. Your dog's routine matters to me, and I'll always do my best to honor it. One thing I hear a lot: shy or anxious dogs tend to warm up to me pretty quickly. I think it's because I let them set the pace, just patience and a calm presence until they feel safe. It's honestly one of my favorite things to witness. At home I share my space with my sweet one-eyed black cat Lady, so I'm used to a house that revolves around an animal's needs. I'm very flexible with scheduling and availability, especially through the summer, so please don't hesitate to reach out even if your timing is a little unconventional. I would love to meet your pup! 🐾 Pet care isn't something I squeeze into my life — it's genuinely central to it. I currently work part time in the nightlife industry, which means my days are largely free and my schedule is wonderfully flexible. The other half of my time is already dedicated to pet sitting, so caring for animals is quite literally built into my weekly rhythm. Because I'm not locked into a traditional 9-to-5, I have real availability during the hours that matter most: mornings, afternoons, and daytime check-ins when most pet parents are at work. I'm rarely in a rush, and I think animals can feel that. If something comes up last minute or you need a little extra flexibility, I'm almost always able to make it work. When I'm caring for your dog/cat in your home, my number one priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and like their normal routine hasn't been disrupted. I follow your feeding schedule and system exactly, and always make sure fresh water is available throughout the day. Beyond the basics, I make sure your pup is getting plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while you're away. Whether that's belly rubs on the couch, a good play session, or just calm company for a dog who doesn't love being alone. You'll never have to wonder if your dog is just sitting in a corner somewhere. They're loved on.

About: Years of experience with animals ranging from horses, goats, cattle, pigs, birds, turtles, cats, and (of course) dogs. I am very comfortable around all shapes and sizes and have some experience with animals with special needs and behavioral issues. My schedule varies, but it is highly flexible! With advanced notice I am able to work around most dates/ times to better fit your pet care needs I have two dogs of my own in a second floor 1 bed apartment with a large patio space. My neighborhood is quiet (perfect for walking furry friends), and there is a park nearby. I have two dogs in my home, a blind Chocoalate lab named Tramp, and a small cocker spaniel mix naamed Juliet. Both pups are crate trained, threshold trained, etc.

About: I’ve grown up around cats and dogs my whole life, and currently have 2 kitties at home. I love getting to know each animal, and experiencing the cuddles and love each have to give. One of my favorite times of day is playtime- I feel like they always come alive and it’s so fun to be a part of. I have also done a lot of overnight cat/ house sitting as well! I’m currently working part-time and have a few other side gigs, so this works into my routine perfectly! I love the flexibility of pet sitting. I know that some animals especially cats are more sensitive than others, and I like to give them plenty of grace and space to get to know me and become comfortable with me. I know animals are all unique with their personalities and limits and I always try to respect what they show me they are okay with. I am comfy with daily visits and also overnight stays.

I was previously a sales engineer with IBM. I'd love to help all the cat and dog mamas/papas out here just as I had in Boulder, CO and, before that, Chicago, IL. I grew up with dogs since the age of 8 - mixed breeds, yorkies, labs, pitbulls, shepherds, terriers, corgis, chihuahuas, frenchies.. the list goes on!! One of the moments that confirmed I’d always want to work with animals was in college, when I helped care for my roommate’s pitbull/red heeler mix, Bridget. She is the sweetest girl, though she struggled with anxiety and health issues. Her teeth were worn down from chewing rocks in her past life, and she’d carry a little blanket around whenever she felt distressed. With her special diet, supplements, and medications, Bridget taught me what it meant to truly care for a soul who’d been through so much. That experience deepened my love and empathy for all animals in a way that’s stayed with me ever since. I'm a huge advocate for providing pets with a great quality of life - more than just basic food and shelter. For my cat parents out there: Because of my 3 kids (Kina, Nemr, & Freyja) and a short stint fostering, I'm seasoned in all things cat/kitten: socializing, changing litter, oral admin of meds, treating fleas, bathing, nail trimming, de-shedding, training (sit, high-five, stand, turn-around, kiss). Since I’m a full-time student, my Rover calendar is currently limited to weekends and school breaks. That said, many families are comfortable having my partner, Ian, join when he’s available—which allows for a little more flexibility with scheduling. It’s a wonderful setup because Ian works from home (and is basically a dog at heart!), so your pets will almost always have company and care. Rest assured, it will only be me caring for your pets unless we’ve discussed and agreed otherwise. I’m also happy to bring Ian to our meet & greet and provide references upon request! I am responsible for creating a safe space for pets in their home. I make sure that they are comfortable and their boundaries are respected and understood with the guidance of their body language and the wisdom from their humans.
