“Stephanie has been so great with my dog Maya. After starting a new job and moving to a new city, I didn’t have any support to help with my dog. Stephanie has been so helpful with all these changes. Maya can be a bit nervous around new people but she warmed up to Stephanie really fast and gets so excited to see her! Stephanie is so great- she is a very reliable person, trustworthy, a great communicator and great with dogs. I’m so happy I found her and that Maya really enjoys her company!”

About: I’ve always loved animals- growing up I had both cats and dogs, and currently have a senior cat of my own. I also foster dogs of all breeds, personalities, and needs through a local shelter. I’ve pet-sat both in my home, and in others’ homes, throughout my life, and have experience caring for animals post-op, with semi-complex medical needs, and basic training techniques, using positive reinforcement and praise. With your pets in my care, I can assure you that they will get all the love and attention that they deserve, everything that they need, and from day 1 they will be cared for as if they were my own. I am available for overnight care in your home, drop-in walks/ play-time/ potty breaks, and daycare in your home. Unfortunately, am not available for boarding or daycare in my home. However, I’m more than happy to take your pet on a day-long outing out in nature, or around the city. I am available for recurring walks, drop-ins, house sits, and one-off bookings on an as-needed basis, with a minimum of 48 hours notice ahead of time. My goal is to always fit seamlessly into your and your pet’s life, but due to pre-existing commitments, I can’t accommodate on-demand services. Every pet I take on, I care for as if they are my own. I strive to provide consistent communication about how they’re doing, what activities we engaged in during our time together, and am mindful to tailor my communication to your needs, so frequency of communication that meets your specific needs will be discussed at our meet and greet. Any concerns that I may have about your pet will be communicated promptly.

About: I have experience caring for furry dog friends. I'm comfortable with walking, feeding, giving medication, and providing attention and playtime. Whether your dog is energetic or laid-back, I make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. Hi, my name is G'la! I'm excited to meet new pets and provide them with loving, reliable care. I work a hybrid schedule, which gives me the flexibility to offer consistent attention and companionship throughout the day. Whether it’s a midday walk, playtime, or just keeping a furry friend company, I truly enjoy making pets a natural and joyful part of my daily routine. I adjust my care based on each pet’s routine and personality. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions closely to keep pets comfortable in their familiar space—feeding, walks, playtime, litter box or yard clean-up, medication, and plenty of companionship. I also make sure the home stays clean, safe, and secure. If I’m caring for pets in my own home, I create a calm, pet-friendly environment with plenty of space, enrichment, and supervision. I keep to their feeding and exercise schedule and give them lots of affection and attention to help them feel at ease while they're away from home.

About: Dogs have always been a central part of my life, from growing up with a beloved family dog to raising my own puppy into a happy, well-trained adult dog. I also have experience caring for senior dogs, including my parents’ high maintenance senior dog, so I understand the full spectrum of a dog’s needs at every life stage. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting and dog walking for family, friends, and neighbors, and I genuinely love creating joyful, safe experiences for every dog in my care. What makes me different is my deep empathy, for both dogs and their owners. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and I’m here to make that process feel easy, transparent, and reassuring. Whether your dog needs a long walk, playful companionship, or just a calm presence, I’m dedicated to making them feel loved and secure. To me, no request is too small when it comes to your dog’s comfort and happiness. Right now, I’m in between full-time jobs, which means I have a very flexible schedule and can build my days around your dog’s specific needs. Whether your pup needs midday walks, extended care, or last-minute help, I’m able to accommodate a variety of routines. I’m especially hoping to find consistent, recurring gigs, but I’m also more than happy to help with short-term or one-time bookings. My priority is making sure your dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for—on your schedule. I live in a secure 8th-floor apartment just a block from Lake Merritt, an ideal location for dogs who enjoy outdoor time, socialization, and variety. For pups who love to play, there’s a lively, friendly dog area near Fairyland from about 5–7 PM daily that I’m happy to take them to, as well as a nearby fenced-in park for safe games of fetch. If your dog prefers solo walks or isn’t as social, I’m just as happy to take them on calm, leash-only walks around the neighborhood or along the lake. I always prioritize your dog’s comfort, boundaries, and safety. At home, your dog will be spending time with Homer, my sweet 60 lb Goldendoodle who’s incredibly friendly and used to living with and around other dogs. He loves having a buddy around! For boarding requests, I always recommend a meet & greet first to make sure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. For dog walking or drop-in visits, I’m happy to accommodate any extra care needs, whether that’s refilling water, feeding, or giving meds. My goal is to create a calm, caring environment where your dog feels safe, happy, and loved, whether they’re with me or in their own home.

“Cynthia was a great walker with our dog Rocky! She took him on long walks and he was a happy and tired pup every day. Very responsive as well. Thank you Cynthia!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who's been caring for my own dog—as well as family and friends' pets—for the past 5+ years. Whether it's going on long walks, bath time, puzzle games, or playtime together at home, I truly enjoy giving every animal the attention and care they deserve. I’ve looked after cats and dogs of all ages, from energetic youngsters to sweet seniors, and I love tailoring each day to their needs and personalities. Rest assured that your furry friend will be treated like family with me! I currently work part-time as a yoga instructor here in Oakland, which means I have a flexible schedule with lots of availability—especially during weekday 9–5 hours and weekends. Whether your furry one wants a peaceful walk, a playful adventure, or just some cozy company at home, I have the time and energy to make it happen. I take safety and trust very seriously, whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours. I always follow the specific routines and guidelines each pet parent provides—whether that means administering medication on time, using the proper harness for walks, crating them when I step out, or sticking to house rules. Every pet is unique, and I’m committed to making sure they feel secure and cared for while giving you total peace of mind. Your pet’s safety—and your trust—are my top priorities.

“Elise did a great job walking my Great Dane mix. She was very energetic and positive, and my dog seemed very comfortable with her. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for both cats and dogs for over 10 years. I’m patient, attentive, and truly enjoy spending time with animals. I treat every pet like they’re part of my family. I’m a freelancer with a flexible schedule. I enjoy taking dogs outside, I personally prefer caring for one pet at a time to give them my full attention. I currently don’t offer pet boarding in my home, but I’m happy to come to yours! I offer drop-in visits, feeding, and dog walking. I focus on providing calm, one-on-one care in a familiar environment for your pet.

About: I have had dogs in my life from the very beginning. I teach 3rd grade and love dog sittng/walking during the summer. I have had Shih Tzus, Chocolate Labs, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians, and a beautiful Great Dane. I am responsible, loving, and detail oriented. I am also the ultimate play mate for any kind of pup personality. I have 9 years of experience within canine care. I am also able to meet any special needs your furry friends may need. Teacher during the Summer so I am pretty open. Also, I do work during the school year as well. I need pups year round. :) I am an experienced pet owner and dog walker. I have owned multiple dogs, guinea pigs, dwarf hamsters. I’ve been taking care of pets professionally for over a decade.

About: Hello! I've been pet-sitting professionally since September 2023 and have done walks, drop-in visits, and house-sitting for dogs and cats of various ages, sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. This includes caring for senior dogs who need mobility assistance and have a hard time hearing and seeing. I also volunteered at my local animal shelter during college, where I had weekly shifts walking, playing with, and socializing dogs in the shelter. Additionally, I have experience caring for my own pet rats, and others' rodents and reptiles (rabbit, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons). With clear instructions from you, I would love to care for any rodents, reptiles, amphibians, or birds as well! You can list these animals as "Cats" within your Rover profile. I have a 30 hour/week job in libraries and I work pet-care into my off-days, or before/after a work shift. I recently adopted my own cat, so I will mostly be offering drop-in visits and dog walks, but will be available for 1-3 night housesits. Let me know you and your pet's schedule and needs, and we can see if we're a good match! I like to get to know you and your pet before caring for them in order to make sure we’re a good fit (so, I do require a Meet & Greet before booking). Whether they're an energetic dog who will want a high energy walk, or a shy cat who might take some time getting used to a stranger, I want your pets to feel safe, cared for, and happy. Please note: I have a severe peanut allergy so if feeding your dog peanut butter or peanut treats is a big part of their routine, I won't be able to provide those foods, but if they can go without while in my care, that's okay!

About: I have a special intuition or talent for understanding all animals. I have had many pets including dogs and cats. I am a farrier and horse trainer and have received an award of recognition for helping save wild horses in New Mexico. I live near Lake Merritt and enjoy meeting other folks with dogs when I’m out walking our chihuahuas. I have cared for pets and other animals in California, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, and Oklahoma. I have references and I’m an older person who is sober, dependable, and trustworthy. Most of all, I have a love for animals and a unique ability to understand their needs and the nonverbal cues they give us to communicate their needs. I would be happy to care for your pets anytime. I am free any day of the week and have a very flexible schedule. I love working with animals and want to continue caring for pets. I have been a homeowner and understand how important your home and privacy are so I will respect your space well. I have been entrusted with people’s homes and properties and take that seriously. Of course, your pet’s well-being, comfort, and happiness is my priority and I know how to gain their trust and treat them with love. I am gentle with pets and have two tiny chihuahuas that are somewhat delicate but I have had big dogs including golden retrievers, a standard poodle, cow dogs, and a lab-pit mix, so I also know how to play with dogs that need more fun. Also, I have always had cats and I’m used to having them sleep on me and play with me. I have traveled with cats and doctored sick cats. I have had house cats we kept inside and cats that went outside. I have saved cats at barns and even from dumpsters. I understand how to interact with cats in a gentle quiet manner that helps them feel safe.

About: I had a full grown cat in my crib as a baby, my parent's told me I would feed it my bottle. I moved to SC to live with my grandmother when I was young. She was a nurse and spent a lot of time helping the local animal shelter. At most, 20 kittens or puppies would be at her house. Usually the animals were malnourished or sick, she would try to get them healthy enough to adopt. That's probably why I love cats and dogs as much as I do. I've adopted 2 dogs, 1 cat from the humane society as an adult. The first dog I adopted was a feral puppy, I adopted him bc I wanted to see why my grandmother never would allow feral animals in her home. I had him for 14 wonderful years but it did take a lot of training and patience. The last dog I owned was a 1 year old pit from a kill shelter. I was able to train this dog not to bite and protect it's owner without biting. I love pets, I know more than your regular person on what types of food/treats to give a dog. For example, if your dog eats a couple pecans, that's bad news. I also know people can be very particular of what they want their animals eating, even if it's a treat. I'd never give someone else's pet a treat without their consent. My job revolves around fixing coffee machines and that business isn't as busy as it used to be prior to the pandemic. I have plenty of free time and I understand how important a routine is in young dogs/cats and I'm willing to help out in any way I possibly can. Currently my roommate has a dog that isn't friendly around other dogs, it's a 9 year old Shiba, and I've learned those breeds are some of the most stubborn dogs. I feed this dog, wash her, and trim du claws and nails. When my roommate is out of town, I let the dog sleep in my bed even though I can't stand how much she sheds. I have a clean background, I've never been in trouble for stealing bc my parents brought me up not to do that. Prior to moving out to CA to work on coffee machines, I spent 17 year's working for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage department. I didn't love my job which is why I'm out here now. My roommate I've known since high school, he'll confirm you won't have to worry when you're out of town.

Chelsea E.
“Between Chelsea’s meticulous attention to detail and her love for pups and all things with toe beans and fur, she is the perfect person to trust your beloved four-legged friend with. She has a knack for reading a dog’s body language, understanding the way a dog/dogs process and deal with their surroundings and stimulus, and for making a dog feel extra loved and special. Chelsea will let your dog sniff every single rock and blade of grass on their walk, as well as make sure they stay hydrated and don’t get too hot in the Florida sun. Trust your pups with Chelsea.”

G’la S.
“She was truly exceptional. My dog immediately took to her vibrant energy and gentle demeanor. Watching them connect so naturally was heartwarming. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again—she’s a rare find!”

Sofia W.
“Sofia is the best dog walker we have ever had. She is always on time and our dog Argos loves her. She has an uncanny ability to know what our dog is communicating and what he might need at any given time. She is honest, reliable, and a joy to be around, whether you are a dog or a human. Sofia gets our highest rating.”

Hannah Y.
“Hannah has been watching and walking my golden retriever, Ellie, for about 5 years now. Anytime she comes over, Ellie squeals with joy and excitement. Hannah is experienced with reactive dogs and, in my case, stubborn dogs! Even when Ellie would prefer to sit and lounge instead of walk, she is able to get her moving using positive reinforcement. I’d highly recommend and trust her with my dog anytime!”

Thomas B.
“Tom cared for our blind Shih Tzu and did a really good job. He sincerely cares about animals and takes good care of them in his own home.”

Grace L.

“Grace took care of our cat, Holly, and apartment while we were away for a week. She took excellent care of Holly and followed our instructions for feeding perfectly. Our cat has no teeth so she requires a little extra care around feeding. Holly really enjoyed Grace and we received many happy pictures of them cuddling. Grace also was house-sitting for us, and she did a great job at keeping our house clean and safe. Grace is very kind, communicative, and punctual. I highly recommend her for all your pet and house sitting needs!”

Ernesto L.
“Ernesto is a very knowledgeable animal caregiver. He is timely and communicative which made everything feel very consistent and secure — exactly what you want when someone else is caring for your pet. My dogs absolutely love him and get so excited to see him every time he shows up. Even my cat who is scared of most people goes up to him to greet him. He works at barns with horses professionally and I can absolutely see that animal experience come through in how my pets respond to him. I have and would continue to recommend him to anybody looking for someone to care for their pet!”

Ivy Hill dog parents share their Rover experiences
Natalie is super communicative and easy to work with. She’s very respectful in my home and always confirms all the tasks before leaving. I am definitely a repeat customer !

Madeleine was great with our super shy rescue dog! He went up to her almost immediately (very rare for him) and seemed to trust her right away. She even went back to check on him when he didn’t want to go out on a walk to make sure he got outside if he needed to. Would highly recommend Madeleine to any pet owners who want a kind and trustworthy sitter!

Nothing could have gone more smoothly. Communicative, timely, and great with my puppy. Thank you. I hope we can work together again.

Shanley treats our little Scooter like a prince. She is very kind and loving with him, and he is THRILLED to go for walks with her!

Jennifer is helpful and communicative. She also went above and beyond to make sure my dog was taken care of while I was gone for the day. I totally recommend her as a dog walker!

Alexandria graciously accepted my booking very last minute when something came up even though I was a little out of her normal area. She communicated well and everything went great! I would definitely recommend!

Laura takes such good care of Ollie and always leaves detailed walk cards that helps me know my pup is in super caring hands!

Sofia is great - communicative and super friendly. Goes above and beyond when walking my fur baby so I know he’s always well taken care of whenever I have to be away for work.

Courtney was very communicative and helpful last minute for a dog walk :) I really appreciate the pictures and videos and will definitely rebook in the future.

Michelle is fantastic! Super communicative and reliable. She has taken such great care of our puppy Mochi! She started with him when he was too young to go on walks and took great care of him during her drop-in visits and potty breaks. When he started going on walks, she helped him with leash confidence and getting used to strangers. I always appreciated the detailed Rover cards & cute pics she took of Mochi. Definitely will book Michelle in the future and highly recommend her for drop-in visits or walks with your pup!

Azadeh was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the moment they met, I could tell she genuinely cared and connected with him. She was punctual, attentive, and kept me updated throughout the walk. My dog came back happy, calm, and clearly well taken care of. It’s such a relief to find someone I can trust, and Azadeh exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind dog walker!
