“Dennis was a wonderful house and pet sitter for us while we were away for a week. He took good care of our two dogs and two cats so we could actually have a relaxing vacation, knowing they and our home were in good hands. We will definitely book him again.”

“Melina was wonderful taking care of my special needs chihuahua. She sent me video and picture updates every day, several times a day (which I so appreciated). She made sure my dog took her medications on time and was thoughtful about all of her needs. She was responsive and so easy to coordinate with. I will definitely be utilizing Melina’s services again.”

“I had Esteban house sit to look after my big, rambunctious dog Sable for 6 days. Not only did Esteban take amazing care of my dog, he left the house in incredible condition. All my dog’s needs were met, and he sent regular pupdates. I’m a very anxious person and it was my first time using Rover, but Esteban put me at ease and I am so glad I decided to go with him. I would 100% use Esteban again if I ever leave town. I believe it’s safer and easier on my dog than boarding her at a dog hotel. You da man, Esteban!”

“Adela is fantastic! Adela follows all my instructions and cares for my dog (Bowie) as if he was her own. Adela stays overnight at my home and she is super respectful, clean and kind. Highly recommend!”

“Shivani was incredible and the best sitter we’ve had! She took such great care of our pup, our two cats, and our home. Our pup is fairly reactive and has some big feelings about the world, so it can be hard to find people she is comfortable with. She seemed to be quite at ease with Shivani and enjoyed her time with her! Our shy cat also loved Shivani! Shivani also sent a lot of updates about our pets, which was soooo incredibly helpful and really put us at ease while we were away! Truly can’t say enough positive things about her and we will definitely ask her to sit for us in the future!”

“If there were 6 stars, I'd give them to Hollie. She is the epitome of conscientious, responsible, and caring. Our flight home was delayed and she even changed her plans so she could stay longer. Our shih tzu loves being with her - from a drop-in walk to a 3-night stay - and we're eager to have Hollie back as soon as our next need arises. I cannot recommend this sitter more highly.”

“Madeline is our top choice for taking care of our babies. We are so impressed by her and feel like she is an angel sent from up above. Super self sufficient, caring towards our animals, respectful and professional. She’s the best.”

“Josie was a great house-sitter! Very appreciative of her flexibility with scheduling, and she took great care of my dog, who’s still learning how to meet new people and be away from me.”

“Paola was great with little Beau 🐶 he loves her already! She had to be at our house crazy early in the morning, she got here a few minutes early & was wide awake and joyful…. Beau & I will invite Paola back whenever possible!!! 🐶💕”

“Meshaal took great care of our 55 lb pup and our cat in our home while we were on vacation! They were thorough in preparing for the job, very communicative while we were away, and followed all of our feeding and exercise instructions. We would definitely have Meshaal sit for us again!”
“Gabrielle was perfect. We were gone two weeks and she allowed us to be so at ease the entire time. She took great care of our Doberman and house. Gabrielle texted photos and videos each day and consistently communicated. She clearly cares about animals as our dog seemed to enjoy every moment with her and her dog. She’s conscientious, attentive, responsible, consistent and nice. We are lucky to have found her.”

“Dane was amazing and I’m so relieved to have found such a great sitter on our first go at Rover. He’s extremely communicative and took amazing care of both our cat and dog. We received frequent updates and photos and knew both our babies were in good hands. Our dog was extremely well exercised, and Dane went above and beyond to still check in and greet our cat (while giving her space) who doesn’t do well with people. Dane also went above and beyond to leave our house neater than when he first arrived! Would highly recommend Dane, and I’m so glad to know we have a reliable, trusted sitter for future vacations!”

“Another excellent pet sitting! This is the second time I was able to hire Bernie and he is so great with my cats! Thor remembered him and clearly loves him. My new cat who is very skittish, felt comfortable being out from under the bed with him there. Bernie has a great vibe!”

“Matt is always great with our dog, Elliott. He was very responsible with Elliott's medication schedule and attentive to his emotional needs. I'll be re-booking Matt for our next trip as well. Thank you, Matt!”

“Qishu (and Ian) were wonderful guests in our home, housesitters and keepers of our pups and flock of chickens. Qishu kept us updated frequently and sent lots of pictures and videos of our furbabies while we were gone. One of our pups has boundless energy and Qishu didn’t flinch! She event spent time working on commands and training the pups while we were out. She left the house cleaner than it was when we left and was very respectful. I’d recommend Qishu (and Ian) to anyone anytime.”

“Laura’s first time dog sitting for us went smoothly. This was an overnight trip. She sent us photo updates and was responsive when we texted to check in. When we got home, the house was tidy, their water bowls were filled, and Cannoli and Da Vinci were in good spirits. We’ve booked Laura for an extended stay while we’re on an international trip. Thanks, Laura!”

“After a last minute cancelation, Tony was a lifesaver. His experience is evident from our first meet-up, and our 14 yr old pibble Charlotte was at ease with him during out first meet and greet. Would not hesitate to entrust our pup and home to his care again. 5 Stars.”
“Victoria is nothing short of a dog send. Not only did she ease my anxieties, but she provided a comfortable and calming environment for my Gracie Girl - and that is not an easy thing to do. Thank you, Victoria!”

About: My background spans a lifetime of animal husbandry, from raising horses, poultry, and rabbits on a hobby farm to specialized adult experience with iguanas and high-energy breeds. Most recently, I raised my Pitbull, Fang, from eight weeks old, giving me hands-on experience with puppy development, leash manners, and managing powerful, athletic dogs. I’ve also completed the American Red Cross online Pet First Aid course, adding emergency awareness and safety training to my practical experience. Whether it’s a backyard flock or a misunderstood breed, I provide confident, intuitive care built on decades of working with diverse species. Since my active hours are 8:00 PM to 1:00 PM, I am perfectly positioned for late-night check-ins, early-morning walks, and night-shift owners. My own routine includes three-hour morning adventures with my Pitbull, Fang, ensuring your pets receive high-energy exercise and dedicated attention while the rest of the world is still asleep. Safety and trust are paramount, especially when handling powerful breeds like my Pitbull, Fang. In my home or yours, I maintain a secure, hazard-free environment with a focus on clear boundaries and consistent routines. My "nocturnal" schedule ensures I am alert for late-night needs or early morning exercise when the neighborhood is quietest and safest for walks. Whether it’s managing high-energy dogs, specialized reptile habitats, or backyard flocks, I prioritize double-checking gates, monitoring health cues, and providing constant communication so you have total peace of mind while you are away.
Ivy Hill pet parents share their Rover experiences
Maya was so quick to respond which was helpful because we were in a bind. She is a clear communicator. She stayed in our home and was extremely trustworthy. We will definitely use Maya again, and highly recommend her to other families. She took amazing care of our 3.5 month old puppy, regularly sending pictures to keep us up to date.

Laura did an excellent job house sitting with Echo. My dog is reactive with new people and Laura was willing to go through several meet ups to build a relationship with her. Despite Echo having a reaction when she first arrived, Laura stuck it out and waited for Echo to re-acclimate to her in a new context (i.e., at the house instead of the park). I got updates and pictures every day. Echo was a happy camper and got lots of play time. Will absolutely book with Laura again!

Camphuong did an amazing job taking care of our pup! She took her to the park every day and played fetch and made new friends, and generally spoiled the heck out of her. Iskierka had a great time and we're happy she got to have her own little staycation while we were gone.

Valarie is an excellent communicator. She took the time to do a meet and greet before confirming the job. During the meet and greet she took her time, was patient and asked great questions. She gave a lot of attention to our boy cat who is very needy. I will definitely be working with Valerie in the future!

First time having Diana pet sit- we did a couple of walks beforehand to get to know my anxious pup. Diana is wonderful and I returned to the calmest post-vacation dog I’ve ever returned to having been in her care. Would definitely recommend and will be booking with her again.

Betsy did a great job and took great care of my boy. She was familiar with the breed’s quirks which is a bonus. Too many people say they get ACD’s and aren’t actually prepared for these high voltage knuckleheads. Betsy has a calm demeanor and remembered my instruction despite my forgetting to write them down.

Another excellent pet sitting! This is the second time I was able to hire Bernie and he is so great with my cats! Thor remembered him and clearly loves him. My new cat who is very skittish, felt comfortable being out from under the bed with him there. Bernie has a great vibe!

Robert was great. He stepped in to care for our cat last minute after she'd been to the ER 2 days before our trip. Openly communicative, he brought up good questions and didn't hesitate to ask. Minelli is new to taking 3 pills a day, and Robert was up for the challenge. When we got back, Minelli was happy, her food and water bowls full, and the house was better than we left it. Thank you so much for taking care of our girl.

Margarita is phenomenal! I truly cannot recommend her enough. She took such wonderful care of our cat, Bro, and sent so many amazing photos that made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Bro is also on oral medication, and she handled that with such care and ease. She also went above and beyond by taking great care of our home. We came back to a happy cat and a perfectly kept house. We’re so grateful for her!

My fur babies love Frances! She was able to house sit for us for a quick weekend away. My two anxious cats and dog all warmed up to her immediately! She left my house spotless and sent many updates and photos. Can't recommend Frances enough. I will be re-booking her again!

We are so happy to have found Kendra on Rover and cannot recommend her enough to others! Long story: Our original boarding plans fell through and one of our sitters canceled on us a few days before our international trip. We were so stressed looking for someone trustworthy to look after our dog, Shelly, on such a last minute notice. Since it was Shelly’s first time away from family, we wanted to make sure she would be comfortable with her sitters. Kendra was willing to squeeze in a last minute trip over to our house at night for a m&g (which I happily tipped her for)! Upon meeting, I could tell right away that she is serious and passionate about her work. We appreciated all the notes she took down, questions she asked, and the time she took to get to know Shelly and earn her trust. We felt assured that our dog (family) would be in good hands. During the house sitting session (~4-5 days), Kendra kept me updated often on Shelly (as requested) and was quick to respond to any questions and concerns. As it was also our first time away from Shelly for an extended time, we were overly concerned and sent Kendra quite a lot of messages. She was very understanding and accommodating to our needs and requests. We were also worried about how Shelly would do around strangers (as she is easily scared/not a fan of strangers petting her), but she seemed to have taken a liking to Kendra pretty quickly. We loved seeing videos of her happily playing fetch with Kendra in our backyard and accepting scratches and pets from her. All in all, we would gladly have Kendra look after Shelly again in the future!

Shayna is the greatest! She watched my two kitties / housesat for a week while we were out of town. This was our first time having Shayna sit for us and we truly had the most wonderful experience - she was so kind, thoughtful, communicative and trustworthy. A few days before our booking started, we sadly had to put my third cat down, and Shayna was so kind/supportive - she checked in on us and helped us navigate updating the Rover booking. During the booking, Shayna spent a ton of time with our cats giving them so much attention and playing / cuddling with them a ton which really put me at ease as I was worried about how our cats would do given the recent loss of our other cat. She sent us daily pictures and updates about how everything was going and was super communicative. We came back home to very happy kitties and a clean house - couldn’t have asked for more. We really hope to have Shayna cat sit for us again in the future!!

Samantha took great care of my cat while I was away. Saroo can be a little mischievous, so I really appreciated how careful and attentive she was and how closely she followed my instructions to keep everything secure. I came home to a happy kitty and a home that was left super clean and tidy. I would definitely book with her again!
