About: I have been surrounded by animals my entire life, beginning with my childhood growing up on a farm. That early, hands-on exposure taught me the fundamentals of animal care, daily routines, and how to read animal behavior. This transitioned into professional work as a dog trainer at Happy Hound play and daycare in Oakland where I trained and cared for dogs both at the center and on park walks and in home visits. I am able to confidently handle pets of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels from puppies needing structure and basic obedience to older dogs requiring a gentle, patient approach. I have a background in housing and caring for animals. I currently share my home with my own pet, Baloo and my housemates pet Bentley my living space is always dog-friendly. I know exactly what it takes to create a safe, enriching, and comforting environment for visiting animals. I can give owners peace of mind while they are away! I am currently working part-time and have lots of flexibility to work around schedules and to setup routines! I also have transportation to travel. I have a fully fenced in yard with two fur babies to keep your doggos safe and entertained! They can lounge outside in the sun or inside.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs. I currently have a dog of my own and understand just how much our pets mean to us—they’re family. When I moved my dad to California so I could become his full-time caregiver, bringing his dog with us was never a question. He’s an important part of our family and daily life. I previously had another beloved dog from the age of 13 through 27, giving me experience with puppies, adult dogs, and seniors. I’m comfortable providing patient, attentive care and making sure each dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any household rules. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while their owners are away. For walks and drop-in visits, I prioritize safety, communication, and making sure each pet’s individual needs are met. I understand that every animal has a different personality and comfort level, so I take the time to build trust and help them feel secure. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to have peace of mind when someone else is caring for your pet, and I treat every animal as if they were my own.

“From our initial meet and greet, Manuel’s communication was prompt, clear, and great, which immediately made us feel comfortable leaving Hampton in his care. Hampton had a vet appointment the day of the sitting and was still coming down from the effects of sedation, and Manuel handled him with such patience and care. Hampton also requires several medications on a regular schedule, and Manuel didn’t flinch. He made sure everything was given as instructed and really showed that he cared about keeping Hampton comfortable and safe. Manuel communicated with us regularly throughout the stay and sent pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. He even got up around 3 AM to let Hampton outside—which is totally Hampton being Hampton 😂. He can be a bit of a rebel and was probably trying to look for us! Manuel took it all in stride. He was attentive, reliable, caring, communicative, and everything you could ask for in a sitter. We felt completely comfortable knowing Hampton was in great hands and would absolutely recommend Manuel.”
