Wonderful dog walkers. Pat was critical to helping me successfully interview for a job (including full days of Zoom) without whiny dogs in the background and was highly responsive and flexible in scheduling. We are looking forward to boarding our dogs with them and only wish they had greater availability (but of course, top dog walkers/boarders are busy!).

About: Been taking care of dogs for 6 years now. Have had experience training two of my own dogs and taking care of them/walking them on my own. I also work alongside with my father (also named Luis ) who has been doing dog boarding for about 2 years now. Me and my father are very used to the behavior of dogs and comfortable with dogs no matter the size or the breed of your dog. I have always had a strong love and a passion for animals, especially dogs I am currently a college student looking to make a little bit extra money by taking care of dogs. If I cannot look after the dog, my dad also takes care of dogs and is always available Me and my father don't live in a very busy neighborhood so you don't have to worry about your dog being unsafe. We have a relatively big house and also have a park very close to my house with a big open field and fence for the dogs to run around in were I can walk your dog and play with them to keep them busy without the risk of them getting hurt. I also have many toys for your dogs to play with if you would like for me to have them get a more fun experience instead of just walking them.

Samantha was on time very morning to walk our dogs, was great about staying in touch with updates and photos. She was also super patient with our one pup who has been healing from a wounded shoulder so could/would only walk short distances. She was flexible and adaptable to make sure she still got attention. We were able to relax during vacation knowing Samantha was there every morning for our doggos.

About: I love dogs and cats! I do not currently own a dog or cat, but I volunteer with Our Companions in their Adopt a Shelter program spending time visiting and walking dogs in local shelters, and I have volunteered at their animal sanctuary in Ashford walking dogs. I am also in their Canine College program, taking and assisting in dog training classes. I enjoy using positive training techniques (treats and praise) to reinforce polite dog walking and attentive behaviors. I am comfortable walking dogs up to 70 lbs. I have recently retired, which gives me some flexibility, and I am participating in a Canine College dog training program. I love dogs, and I am looking for more opportunities to meet and spend time with dogs. I also enjoy cats and would be happy to house sit and/or walk your cat as well! My recent experiences with Our Companions Animal Sanctuary and Canine College programs are teaching me so much about being a pet guardian for different kinds of dogs. I am learning about dog body language and how to help engage dogs in enrichment, calming, and attention-game activities while in a home, in a yard, and on a walk. I have friends who own cats, and I enjoy getting to know them as well.

About: I am a huge animal person and have been around dogs most of my life. I currently have a 7 year old (30lb) dog that we rescued as a puppy. She is a sweet girl and is use to having a companion (since we also had a spaniel for 17 years that recently passed away) so she is comfortable with other dogs. We also foster puppies and have experience with many different breeds and personalities! While you're away, working, or just have other plans that can't include your pet, he or she is welcome to stay with us or I can come to you. Either way, I will strive to make your furry family member feel comfortable and cared for. During the day, your pet will get plenty of attention. I currently work from home full time, which allows more flexibility with outside breaks and neighborhood walks. While I work, I will be in the same room as your pet so they will never feel alone. As far as basic care and house rules go, their feeding schedule can be flexible and adjusted to match his/her schedule at home. They are allow to roam the main areas of our home and snuggle up on the couch as they wish!

About: My name is Jen, I am an avid animal lover, dog mom, and part-time adventurer. I have my BA in psychology and have always been interested in animal behavior. I first started watching friends' dogs in 2001, then moved on to house-sitting cats and dogs. I have great experience taking care of pups and love taking them on long walks, trips to the park, the beach, and places alike. And there's always time for some positive reinforcement! I am always willing to work on some training with your pup if you request. I have a 6-year-old love bug Cavapoo named Beau who is the light of my life! Feel free to contact me and discuss your needs, desires, and any questions! Fun Awaits! As of June 14 I am free to book between 9a-5pm. I walk my dog on the trails every single day after work and we enjoy it! I will not be taking care of any dogs at my home at this time. If this changes I will update the profile as soon as possible. I do not stay over night but I will stay until bed time and return in the AM.

About: With over nine years of pet care and dog rescue experience, I offer a level of knowledge and hands-on experience that goes beyond basic pet sitting. My background in rescue has included fostering, transporting rescue dogs, dog walking, screening adoption applications, and working with dogs of many different breeds, temperaments, ages, and backgrounds. I have also completed professional dog-walking training through the Connecticut Humane Society. I have extensive experience with working breeds, powerful dogs, high-drive dogs, and dogs involved in dog sports. My own dogs participate in dog sports, and I understand the physical and mental needs that often come with active, athletic, and highly motivated dogs. I’m comfortable with the dog who needs a long walk, run, hike, structured activity, or extra enrichment—not just a quick trip around the block. At the same time, great care doesn’t always mean doing more. I’m equally happy caring for the senior dog who wants a slow neighborhood stroll and a comfortable place to nap, the young puppy who needs patience and consistency, or the dog who simply wants companionship while their person is away. I tailor my care to the individual dog rather than expecting every dog to fit the same routine. One of the most important parts of my approach is my understanding of canine body language and behavior. I pay close attention to what dogs are communicating, respect their boundaries, and make safety-conscious decisions before a situation becomes a problem. I will never knowingly put your dog in a position where they are uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or set up to fail. I am also experienced caring for dogs with additional medical or behavioral needs, including administering oral and topical medications, providing injections, following detailed care instructions, and accommodating special routines. Whether your dog is an energetic working breed, an adventurous hiking partner, a powerful dog who needs a confident and experienced handler, a puppy, a senior, or a professional couch potato, my goal is the same: to treat them with the same level of care and attention I would want for my own dogs. Your dog’s safety, physical well-being, emotional comfort, and overall experience are always my highest priorities. I know how difficult it can be to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. I have a full time career but petsit and dog walk whenever my schedule allows. If you’re looking for walks and visits as needed, I’m a great fit! I do not care for other peoples pets in my own home. When watching your dog or cat in your home I will treat them how I would my own. I pay close attention to each individual pets needs and am sure to respect the owners wishes at all times.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
