About: For the past 3 years I have had jobs within the veterinary industry in both general practice and emergency veterinary care and am currently a pre-vet student. I have lots of hands on experience with all different kinds of animals, I myself have rabbits, guinea pigs and dogs. I have several years of dog training experience including training therapy dogs used in social settings for increasing positivity in different public environments. With my veterinary jobs I have taken care of and helped treat all different ages and breeds of animals. With my animal behavior training I can also assess animals body language in all different kinds of settings to know how best to react with each animal I meet. I do not currently own a dog or cat, but I volunteer with Our Companions in their Adopt a Shelter program spending time visiting and walking dogs in local shelters, and I have volunteered at their animal sanctuary in Ashford walking dogs. I am also in their Canine College program, taking and assisting in dog training classes. I enjoy using positive training techniques (treats and praise) to reinforce polite dog walking and attentive behaviors. I am comfortable walking dogs up to 70 lbs. About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs my entire life. Even through college and grad school, I had roommates with pets. Now I’m living in a rental that doesn’t allow animals, so I’m hoping to find some local pets to care for and spend time with! I’ve cared for cats and dogs of all ages and activity levels since I was young, and I enjoy taking dogs for walks any time of year! I’m a middle school teacher, so I have a pretty consistent schedule from August-June. Most days I’m able to leave work by 3, so I have all afternoon and evening to care for pets. I do have a small fenced in yard in case I had a client’s pet in my home, though I’d more than likely care for the pets in the client’s home.
