“Ashlee was wonderful with our 17 year old toy schnauzer. She is so calm and Bella was very comfortable. Great communication throughout. Will definitely use her services again”
“Kristen was incredible throughout the whole stay. In addition to great text updates, she sent pictures where we saw our cats with their tails up and playing, knowing they were happy and well taken care of the entire time. For our longest trip away from our cats, she kept our minds at ease the whole time. Kristen is great and we thank her for all the visits! We’ll definitely be hiring her again.”

“Alison was fantastic. She came by for some drop-ins while I was out of town for the weekend. She was extremely communicative, came right on schedule, made sure every one of my dog's needs was attended to, and was super easy to work with. Zero complaints.”

About: I have always had pets in my home, like dogs and/or cats, when I was in highschool many family friends and neighbors trusted me to pet sit for them while they would be away for a week or two. I would stay and play with the pets, feed them, and provide fresh water every day, go on walks, and keep in touch with the owners. I am in college and I work in a lab that cares for crested geckos where I feed them, and look at their environment levels (e.g. humidity) to make sure they are healthy! Caring for animals always brightens my day and I would be happy to care for your furry (or not) babies whether you are at work, or going on a trip! For the summer I am not in school, but I am doing participating in my lab for internship credits with this my schedule is pretty open on weekends and weekdays so I would be able to spend time with your pets however long they want or need! I would be able to do home visits, including drop-ins, staying etc. Whatever you feel comfortable with. I would follow what your pet needs like what kind of food, if there is any medications, any kinds of routines they have, etc. What I provide will depending on what the pet needs, like if they are an older dog or a couch potato I can do a slow walk or just chill and be a couch potato. Or if they are a very active pet I will dedicate play time or outside time. I would also be in contact with the owner if anything alarming occurs or even just a picture of your pet.
“Mary is super friendly and respectful. Our dog adores her and can't wait to see her. She always shows up at the agreed time and contacts us if there is a problem. The pictures she sends us are adorable and we always feel assured our dog is well cared for. I highly recommend her (although I'd like to keep her a secret lol).”

“Cassandra saved us at the last minute when we left on a trip. She is friendly, kind and made extra effort to get to know our Ragdoll cat who can be shy and ldifficult. We couldn’t have asked for more. Cassandra is absolutely the best!!!”

About: I had my dog from age 6-18 and I was her main caretaker. I taught her a lot of tricks, so I am familiar with a lot of common commands. She was so special to me, so I can ensure that I will always treat your pets with the most kindness and respect to honor that bond. I am currently going to college, but I have a lot of flexibility. It is summer so classes are not currently running, and I have more time to care for animals! While boarding, I have a fenced in yard as well as a nice neighborhood for walks. Either while boarding or pet sitting, I make sure that I learn their routines from you and make sure that I follow them as closely as possible.
About: I grew up with two dogs that filled my life with so much joy. I just want to give that to your dogs even if it’s just a walk, a check in, or even a long term service. I have open availability to care for your fur babies. I do have a part time job but will be able to schedule around those few shifts I have a week. My priority is your animals! I am very adamant on keeping all dogs on leash unless in a gated backyard or at a dog park dependent on how they interact with other dogs and owners wishes.
About: Hi! I’m Maggie. I’ve grown up with pretty much every kind of pet you can think of — dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, and even chickens. I got my own dachshund in 2021, so I’m very comfortable with the chaos and personality that comes with having a dog. I’m responsible, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy being around animals. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and whatever they need to stick to their normal routine while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits pretty easily into my day. I’m able to work walks, drop-ins, and plenty of playtime into my routine, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule around a pet’s needs. Looking to mostly watch pets at the pet owners home but in regards to safety, knowing that each home situation is different, I defer to the discretion of the owner in how they handle safety measures.

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience and genuine love for dogs. I’ve had dogs of many different breeds my entire life, which has given me a deep understanding of their personalities and needs. I also worked in a shelter, where I cared for over 50 dogs, so I’m comfortable handling different temperaments, energy levels, and special situations. I’m patient, attentive, and truly committed to making every dog feel safe, loved, and understood. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a senior dog who needs extra care, I adapt to each pet’s unique needs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I structure my day to make sure pets get regular walks, feeding, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I’m flexible with my schedule, which allows me to adapt to each pet’s needs—whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening care. I also make sure to dedicate quality time so pets feel comfortable, safe, and not alone. Caring for pets isn’t just something I fit in—it’s something I genuinely prioritize and enjoy every day. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I always follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. In my home, I make sure pets have a clean, comfortable space where they can relax and feel secure. I give them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also respecting their individual personality and energy level. In a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their pet’s routine consistent to reduce stress. I’m very respectful of the home, keep everything clean, and make sure pets feel safe and cared for while their owner is away. I also pay close attention to behavior and health, and I’m comfortable caring for puppies, active dogs, and seniors who may need extra patience and care.
“We have had two male tabby cats (litter mates) for 12 years. We lost one just before Courtney was to care for them recently. I made her aware that we lost one of our babies and she spent extra time bonding with our surviving cat. He has never been by himself before and I worried about that. She was wonderful and our kitty did very well! Courtney is great!”

About: Having grown up with two dogs my entire life, caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I provide attentive, reliable care and treat ever animal with the same love and respect I give my own pets. As a college student, my schedule allows me plenty of time for pet care. I only have three classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and just one hour class on Tuesday and Thursday, which gives me flexibility throughout the day for visits, walks, feeding, and quality time with your pets. When caring for pets in a clients home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get walked, have playtime and receive plenty of tension. I also make sure to tidy up any messes and make sure the pet feel as comfortable as possible in their own environment.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tierra Verde
Lexi is a lifesaver! We needed someone asap and she went above and beyond to help. She instantly became our go-to caregiver for our dog and we feel blessed to have found her. From the start, our dog was so excited to meet her as if he's known her forever. Our dog is very friendly, but every once in a while he meets someone and it's as though he/she is a long lost friend. Lexi is one of these people. A new friend to our Oakley and our family for sure!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
