“Kallie came by several times a day to check in on our dogs while we were out of town. She fed them, walked them, and played with them. She kept us updated the entire time and sent pictures during her visits, which we always looked forward to. When we came home it was clear they were happy and well taken care of. We would definitely use her again! Thank you!! 😊”

“Patrick was awesome watching my dog while I was on a work trip. He took so much care to make sure Orville got plenty of exercise and felt comfortable. I will definitely be booking Patrick again.”

About: I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I understand that pets are family, I treat every pet in my care with patience, kindness, and plenty of attention. I have always had pets in my life ever since I was a child, I can't imagine a life without them. My husband and I of 26 years have always had a dog and a cat in our home, our 2 kids grew up with them as well. We are now empty nesters and our recent family dog Tank passed last year at 17 years old. Oh how we miss him! We currently do not have a dog, but do have a cat named Cali. She is 12 yrs old, has her own space and typically does not interact with the dogs. Our son and his fiance have two dogs (Corgi and Golden Retriever) that we have taken care of when needed since they were puppies. Neighbors and friends have also relied on us to watch, check in with, feed, walk and play with their pups and kitties. We have a fenced back yard with pool, our grand pups enjoy the sun shelf to cool off and occasionally jump in. We live close to the Pinellas Trail as well which is great for early morning and evening walks. I am comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and other pets. I'm happy to follow your pet's usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication, and lots of cuddles! My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and loved while you are away. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pets to learn more about how I can help. I recently retired from my full time job of 30 years, looking to stay active while enjoying my love for animals by caring for pets. I live in a home with a fenced back yard. I'm happy to follow your pet's usual routine, making them feel safe and loved.

“We are so happy we found Kimberly ! She is so great with Denver and so thorough. She leaves detailed notes of the visit which gives us a great sense of relief when we can’t be there with him. We will ask for her every time !”

About: Reliable, caring, and attentive dog lover who treats every pup like family. Experienced, responsible, and dedicated to keeping dogs happy, safe, and comfortable. Can’t wait to meet your fur baby! I’m a musician full time but love taking care of animals and love to help out in my spare time by either walking them, playing with them, whatever they need! i have 2 dogs and 2 kittens myself and ensure they have a happy, healthy and loving home each and everyday! my pups go on walks every night, my cats get lots of play time with us and it makes us all feel so special and warm at the end of the day.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have experience with all types ranging from little dachshunds to large bernese mountain dogs. I’ve been pet sitting for family and friends for as long as I can remember. My last dachshund lived to be 16, so I’m very familiar with senior care and giving medications. I’m very reliable and flexible and can’t wait to spoil your pup and give it all the love and care it needs! My days off from my regular job are usually Wednesdays and Sundays. However, I do only work until 1pm so I am available for afternoon visits any day of the week. I am also flexible with scheduling and am usually able to pick up any last minute visits when necessary. I live in a very dog friendly apartment complex that also has a dog park. I do also have a screened in balcony. I’m very comfortable walking larger dogs or even dogs that don’t always do well on a leash. I’m capable of following any dietary needs or administering medications, as I had to do this for my senior dog.
“Shannon watched our 3 needy, loving cats. She gave them lots of love and spent a lot of time with them. She kept us informed throughout her visits and the house was very clean when we got home. Would definitely recommend.”

About: I have been a dog lover since I was little. My family had a sweet Shepherd-Boxer mix who sadly passed away within the last year, so I know how much our pets truly mean to us. I’ve also had the opportunity to dog sit for many different families over the years. Whether your pup is energetic and loves long walks and playtime or is more laid-back and wants to relax and cuddle, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’m dependable, attentive, and respectful of their routines, and I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away. I’ll treat your pup like they’re my own! I recently left the corporate world and am transitioning into part-time work, so I currently have a very flexible schedule. This gives me plenty of availability to spend time with your pets and accommodate walks, drop-ins, and other care needs throughout the week. I’m able to work around your pet’s schedule and provide plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship to best fit your needs! Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I want to make sure they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll follow your routines and instructions closely, be mindful of doors, gates, and other safety considerations, and give your pet plenty of attention and care. I’ll also treat your home with respect and leave it just as I found it. Most importantly, I want you to feel completely comfortable and confident that your pets and belongings are well cared for while you’re away.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was about 10 years old — walking, feeding, giving meds, brushing, and of course, plenty of playtime and cuddles! I have a 12-year-old husky of my own and love dogs of all sizes and personalities (the bigger the better!). I work in healthcare and specialize in behavior therapy, which helps me read your dog’s body language and make them feel calm, comfortable, and right at home. Since I work from home, your pup will get tons of attention, supervision, and love throughout the day. I'm self-employed, which gives me a lot of flexibility with my schedule so I can build visits around your pet's routine instead of squeezing them into a rigid 9-5. Whether it's an early morning walk, a late evening drop-in, or something last-minute, I can usually make it work. Your dog gets someone who shows up on time and isn't rushing off somewhere else! Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first! I only provide care in the client's home — house sitting, drop-ins, and dog walks. I don't offer sitting at my own place at this time. I'm a professional behavior analyst by trade, so I bring a level of comfort and skill with dogs that goes beyond typical pet care. I'm highly experienced and confident handling dogs with any temperament — anxious, reactive, high-energy, or just plain stubborn. In your home, I follow your routines exactly: feeding schedules, medication, potty habits, and any specific behavioral protocols you use. I'm observant of body language and stress signals, and I adjust my approach dog by dog rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. Your home and pet's routine stay exactly as you left them! For walks, I’m an experienced handler — I’ve walked up to four 80+ lb huskies at once, so no size or strength limits here.

“Kelsey did an amazing job with my cat. She listened to directions, showed up consistently, and gave very good care...She put effort in to provide him a safe friend while I was away. She also did a few extra things that were above cat sitting. I felt lucky to find her, highly recommend.”

About: Hello fellow pet lovers and owners! I love animals and I am so happy to host your furry family member. Whether your dog needs fed, walked, run, played with, or watched, I’m there. I’m here to provide a loving and supportive environment for your pet so they are in a stress free environment & well cared for. I only work part-time so I’m at home a lot and my schedule is flexible. I’m active too, so if you’re looking for your dog to be able to run, go to the dog park or just for a long walk, I’m available. I’m looking forward to seeing you & your furry family member soon! Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information. -Alyssa
About: I had my dog from age 6-18 and I was her main caretaker. I taught her a lot of tricks, so I am familiar with a lot of common commands. She was so special to me, so I can ensure that I will always treat your pets with the most kindness and respect to honor that bond. I am currently going to college, but I have a lot of flexibility. It is summer so classes are not currently running, and I have more time to care for animals! While boarding, I have a fenced in yard as well as a nice neighborhood for walks. Either while boarding or pet sitting, I make sure that I learn their routines from you and make sure that I follow them as closely as possible.
“The best cat sitter we’ve ever had! Our kitties LOVE Zlata and they are usually very scared of people they don’t know. She sends very thorough check-in updates with lots of cute pictures. Overall she is a sweet person and very personable!”
About: I’ve had puppies and rescues since age 5. I’ve trained puppies and special needs senior dogs with love and consistency. A tired dog is a good dog! I’m a Florida/Texas hybrid. As such I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to acquire experience in caring for animals of every shape and size from birth essentially! . I have cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, cows, horses, pigs, rabbits, goats, turtles, fish, chickens and even llamas! Some as secondhand exposure to how their needs dictate their care, while others as ownership and primary care. As a critical care nurse for nearly 18 years I developed skills in accuracy, prioritization and diligence. I no longer work in that capacity and my goal with Rover is simply to care for fur babies as their people would so we can all have full happy lives! I’m currently open to sitting/visiting/walking during the day. I can also offer bathing. I have experience with a variety of needs and sizes. I’ve never been without a dog by my side! I have a large fenced yard and have large dogs. I take them to the beach and dog parks regularly. I’m open to unsocialized dogs who need independent, at home care as well.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs and other pets since I was a young child. I love pretty much all animals and they are family to me. I am currently working part time and from home so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups and keep them company. I am available for boarding anytime on weekends and after 2 PM during weekdays. I have a fenced yard and one friendly cat named Lily that will keep your fur babies company as well. I can easily crate your pet if needed.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bay Pines
Emma is a fantastic sitter! My dog took to her immediately, so i knew she was the right person for us. My sweet girl is even smiling in the visit pics Emma sent! The clincher is that my cats who are very "stranger danger" came out of hiding to hang with her. She was very thorough with asking questions and making sure of any special notes. I highly recommend Emma!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
