“We are so thankful we found Elizabeth & Cole to watch our pup Ellie. Elizabeth was kind enough to pick her up from our home and drop her off before we got back from our trip! We will absolutely be using them in the future!!”

“Melissa is a thoughtful and caring dog-sitter. She told me she loves dogs and it show in all her actions when she dog sat my labradoodle. She read him very well and met his emotional needs.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for Samoyeds, Alaskan Malamutes, and Corgis, so I’m comfortable with both large and small breeds and their very different needs. High-energy dogs like Samoyeds and Malamutes need plenty of exercise and attention, while Corgis are smart, curious, and sometimes a little stubborn, which requires patience and consistency. I always tailor walks, playtime, and routines to each dog’s size, personality, and energy level to keep them happy and safe. I have dogs so I’m free for all the time if you need me to. I’ll be very careful and on time to take care of your pets. I always prioritize safety and comfort when caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s home. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their environment clean and secure, and pay attention to behavior, appetite, and mood. I make sure doors, leashes, and feeding instructions are handled carefully, and I treat every pet with patience, respect, and genuine care.
About: Playing with them, taking them for walks and giving them lots of love is part of my experience. I love working with them and making them feel safe with me. Working with animals is my passion. I feel that they are part of my life, that they are essential, they are part of our families and they deserve to be loved and respected. I am responsible for their care and feeding. I like to take them for walks. It is very essential for them to give them love and affection. Playing with them is part of their environment.
“Lina took excellent care of my two pups for an overnight stay. She went above and beyond and brought them home for me so I didn’t have to retrieve them after a tiring trip. She played with them and sent many pictures and videos keeping me updated during their stay. I will be using Lina again for my next trip and highly recommend.”

“Barbara watched my puppy while I was away for a night and I was nervous since my pup had never stayed with anyone else before but she had a great time with Barbara! She kept me updated with texts and photos during Kaia’s stay. She also let Kaia sleep in her room which I really appreciate. Kaia was in good spirits when I picked her up. I will definitely use her again.”
“She is amazing! High quality great pics and great updates multiple times daily. Very great communication. I felt so comfortable leaving my pup in her care! He came back to me clean and brushed and tired and happy”

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.
“Carrigan was a wonderful sitter for our pup, Shea. We just moved from NYC and I wasn’t sure how Shea would fare in the suburbs but Carrigan and her dogs were so sweet and playful. Shea had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend her as a sitter for anyone looking.”

About: I’m the type of sitter who pays attention to the little things — routines, favorite toys, energy levels, and comfort needs. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors, and I adapt to what each pet needs. I believe pets do best when they feel safe, loved, and understood, and that’s the environment I strive to provide. Plus, you can expect plenty of updates and photos! Pets fit easily into my routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I plan my schedule to make sure pets get the attention, exercise, care, and consistency they need — whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just company and cuddles. I aim to keep their routine as normal as possible so they feel happy and comfortable. I care for pets by creating a safe, calm, and loving environment while following their normal routine as closely as possible. In my home, pets receive plenty of attention, supervised playtime, walks, feeding on schedule, and a comfortable space to relax and feel at home. In a client’s home, I respect their pet’s routine, environment, and instructions to help keep things familiar and stress-free. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, energy level, dietary needs, and comfort, and I make sure owners receive regular updates and photos for peace of mind.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have over 20 years of experience caring for them. Our family shares our home with Kay, our friendly 40-pound Australian Shepherd and Cocker Spaniel mix. She is playful, social, and enjoys having other dogs around. Dogs in our care become part of our daily routine! We enjoy regular walks, trips to the park, and plenty of playtime. We typically take several walks throughout the day, including a morning walk, a longer afternoon outing, and an evening walk. We live in a dog-friendly building complex with access to a dog park, and we also have a spacious unfenced patio where dogs can relax and enjoy fresh air while supervised. We understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, and we’ll do our best to make your pup feel comfortable, safe, and at home. We’d love to meet your dog and welcome them into our family! No change, I take my dog for walks 3 times per day, intend to do the same with whoever stays with us , they get fed 2 a day and will sleep in their beds . On weekends walk a longer up to an hour Always leashed and never letting off leash outside. Never had any issues with my dog safety wise, always keeping studs unsuited up high to avoid dog playing with it
“This was our pups’ third stay with Juan, and once again he exceeded our expectations! He kept us updated with pictures throughout their stay, which gave us peace of mind knowing they were happy and well cared for. The dogs came home clean, relaxed, and clearly content. Juan was also wonderful about accommodating their new fresh food from The Farmer’s Dog without any issues—something that really shows how attentive and flexible he is with each dog’s needs. His fenced yard and the opportunity for safe playtime are such a bonus, and it’s obvious he treats every dog like his own. We are so grateful to have found Juan. Our dogs love staying with him, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”

“We contacted Leo for some last minute help with our two dogs. He was extremely accommodating, responsive and attentive. He asked questions about our dogs and helped us to feel comfortable with a stranger taking our pooches. Would absolutely recommend Leo and we plan on using him for all of our dog sitting needs in the future!”

“We are so lucky to have found Monika! She is kind, responsive, and it was clear that our dog, Finley, was happy and very well taken care of throughout his stay. We hope to use Monika again and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone!”

“Ashley was a fantastic host for Oscar. She was very responsive and kept me updated on what he was up to each day. She treated him like he was one of her own and I felt extremely comfortable leaving him with her and her two dogs. I look forward to leaving him with them again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stamford
I was out of town for a weekend and needed someone for dog boarding, so of course I went to Wendy! She was great with my dog and followed the care instructions I gave her. She provided updates throughout the day, was flexible with drop off/pick up time, and made things easy for me by dropping off my dog at my home. Wendy is great!

Judy took a lot of time before our boarding to ask questions about Dream- what she likes, what she needs to be comfortable, her allergies, etc. that already put me at ease. But when I received daily updates from Judy with descriptions of how my dog was acclimating, how they were getting along, with pictures of their daily adventures, I knew she was in the best possible hands. My dog gets very anxious when we are apart and I am so glad to have finally found a sitter who wants to *genuinely* understand how to best approach my dogs needs. She came back smelling amazing too :)

Nandita was great while Gwen stayed at her home for a week! Gwen can be a very tentative dog, but Nandita made sure she was comfortable and taken care of. She was great at providing photos and videos during the stay and Gwen looked happy and comfortable throughout! Nandita is also extremely responsive, and she has a very friendly Labrador retriever who is great at interacting with all kinds of dog personalities. Highly recommend!

Melissa and Christian were fantastic with our two girls. Each day we received clever updates on what they were up to, how they were doing and what they have done. They were taken on multiple walks each day and were very comfortable with them. Will definitely be booking again with them!

Steph did a wonderful job caring for our dog. She was very communicative and provided updates daily along with the cutest photos. She really cares about the dogs she takes care of. Definitely one of the top sitters we’ve found on Rover! We would happily book again and highly recommend her! I can tell our pup was in great hands.

Emma took amazing care of our 2.5 year old lab for one week while we went away on vacation. She took great care of our dog giving her plenty of exercise and care. She shared videos and photos on a regular basis which we were grateful for. Our dog came home safe and sound. We would definitely ask Emma to take care of our dog again!
Jessica was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our cats, kept us updated with photos and messages, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Clinton was fantastic! Quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Our basset hound Millie stayed with him for a weekend and enjoyed herself. Clinton sent us multiple update pictures letting us know that she was comfortable and spending time with his son and golden retriever. Clinton’s backyard space was great for Millie too! We’ll definitely be repeat customers :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
