“Five-star sitter who treats your dog like her own. We have a small deaf dog that we are too attached to but loved how Brittany took such good care of our dog during a very hot spell and could not take her with us. She is the best!”

“Great host. Has an outdoor fenced in area, very easy to communicate with, no issues handling medications or other specific needs - all in all a great dog sitter. Thank you so much.”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care, patience, and reliability I bring to every visit. As a teacher, creating a calm, safe, and positive environment comes naturally to me, and I carry that same approach into caring for pets. I'm attentive to routines, notice small changes in behavior, and understand that consistency helps pets feel secure while their owners are away. Having grown up with both dogs and cats, I'm comfortable with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and temperaments. Whether your pet is an energetic puppy who loves to play, an adult dog who enjoys long walks, a senior pet who needs a gentler pace, or a cat who simply wants a quiet companion, I'll tailor my care to their individual needs. I'm happy to follow detailed feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, provide plenty of exercise, and, of course, give lots of affection and attention. I also know how important communication is, so you'll receive regular updates, photos, and videos to give you peace of mind while you're away. To me, pet sitting isn't just about checking off a to-do list—it's about making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for until you're back home. As a teacher, my summertime availability is sadly coming to an end. M-F: before 7am for a walk and feeding and after 3:30pm all day. Weekends are all-day availability. I treat every pet and every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. Safety and comfort always come first. I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, keep doors and windows securely closed, make sure food, water, and litter are taken care of, and pay close attention to anything that could be unsafe or out of the ordinary. I’m also very respectful of my clients’ homes. I’ll keep things clean and tidy, make sure everything is as I found it, and communicate promptly if I notice anything unusual with your pet or in your home. Most importantly, I want both you and your pet to feel completely comfortable with me. I’ll take the time to understand your instructions, your pet’s personality, and any specific routines or boundaries before you leave. Your pet should feel safe, relaxed, and cared for—and you should be able to enjoy your time away knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾

“Elvia and her family are wonderful. Chloe had the best time!!! Chloe is definitely looking forward to going back to Elvia. Thank you for taking such great care of Chloe ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“They watched Coco a few times. Coco had a couple seizures. They offered to take Coco to the vet late at night and provided constant reassurance. They followed the care routines and shared updates. Coco returned home happy. We plan future bookings.”

“Judy is super attentive and communicative. I got several photos and updates a day assuring me that mango was extremely well taken care of. Would absolutely recommend. Mango comes back happy and tired and is more than happy to go back for another stay with Judy.”

“Our mini bernedoodle loved staying with Tatiana. She took him to the dog park and on walks daily and sent plenty of pics and videos. We’ll definitely book with her again.”

“Diane is an exceptionally caring and thoughtful sitter. She took such great care of Stella during the time we were away. From the moment we dropped her off Diane made sure Stella was settled into her place nicely, and was in constant communication sending us photos and updates. I could not recommended her enough! 10/10”

“Rene always takes great care of Cory. She noticed that he was itchy and has some skin irritation so asked if he could have some Benadryl, and always sends pics and videos of him playing and having a great time.”

“Thank you Grace & Luis for taking such great care of Brodi! We appreciated the daily updates, and were grateful that he did so well under your care. We were at ease during our time away.”
“Consuelo and family take such great care - we booked for 3 different times in the week. and yes, our puppy keeps asking, "When are we going back?" Highly recommend!!!”

About: • Small to medium size breed care • Senior dog care • Basic grooming (brushing, wiping paws) • Administering oral medication • Maintaining feeding schedules • Photo & video updates for pet parents 📸 I am currently working from home, Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I already structure my day around my own dog’s schedule, including regular walks, feeding times, playtime, and rest periods. In my weekly routine, I plan ahead to ensure pets receive dedicated attention, whether it’s scheduled walks, or drop-in visits. I prioritize maintaining each pet’s normal feeding, exercise, and rest schedule so they feel comfortable and secure. I provide personalized care depending on the service and each pet’s unique needs. I treat every home and every pet with the same level of care and responsibility as I would my own.
“Margaret took excellent care of our senior dog while we were traveling. She was very attentive to his needs and made him feel very comfortable while we were away. She even graciously agreed to extend his stay for a couple of days when our flight home was canceled. I highly recommend her services!”

“Charmaine was kind, professional and offered strong communication. This was a last minute request and she was accommodating, flexible, but still transparent about her schedule. Even though I wrote information down when booking her as a dog sitter, she still took the time to ask questions when we met.”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Amy! From the moment my husband and I met her we knew our 6 month old, sweet but excitable puppy, Walter, was in good hands. Amy exudes warmth and competence - we had no concerns that Walter would be safe and happy. She didn’t judge my crazy dog mom notes and tips on his care and she put our minds at ease while away with just the right amount of updates and pictures. Walter is a large breed and a big bundle of love and energy, but Amy wasn’t phased and our boy had the best time with the other pups who were staying with Amy (of all ages and sizes). Walter came home tired, happy and calm with no resulting bad behaviors from being out of his normal routine. We are already planning for his next stay with Amy. ❤️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Purchase
Alexandra took great care of our dog Phoebe while we were away and sent lots of photos. She welcomed Phoebe into her home and treated her like her own. When our flight home was delayed, even though Alexandra was unable to extend the dog-sitting by a day (because she was going away herself), she was willing to drive Phoebe to our neighbor’s house before she left so Phoebe wasn’t left without a place to go.

Lydia did a great job in looking after our pet dog Bo for a week when we were away. She sent me constant updates without me ever having to ask for it. And, the one thing that stood out was that the entire time we felt that Lydia was genuinely fond of our puppy & treated him like family - that meant a lot to us. Would definitely recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
