“Stefanie was amazing - kind, patient and understanding with our anxious pup's first boarding experience ever, and a great communicator. She and her human and four legged family members welcomed our pup with open arms and helped put our mind at ease that our pup was in great hands. Would definitely recommend and we'd definitely book with her again!!”

“Rafa had another great stay with Stephanie! From the time we dropped her off she ran away from us to Stephanie 😂 and I love that we come home to a happy pup! Thanks for taking such great care of our girl!”

“Kevin and his family always take such great care of Jax putting us at ease while we travel. Great communication and always responsive. Great family so happy we found them”

“Aurora was right at home during her stay and I was worry free! From the moment I met Saiad and he showed us around I knew Aurora would be in good hands. Clean and attentive- making sure to share photos and details of Aurora’s stay. It was just the safe, happy stay we required.”

“Wonderful with our little old girl . Took great care of her and sent adorable pics letting us know how she was doing during her stay. Responds quickly to texts which is a plus ! Highly recommend and will definitely use again for our puppers !”

“Moose and Alaska got long well while we were out of town and Moose came home happy and tired. That spent lots of time playing in the yard. Thank you, Natalia, for being available over thanksgiving and taking care of Moose!”

About: • Small to medium size breed care • Senior dog care • Basic grooming (brushing, wiping paws) • Administering oral medication • Maintaining feeding schedules • Photo & video updates for pet parents 📸 I am currently working from home, Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I already structure my day around my own dog’s schedule, including regular walks, feeding times, playtime, and rest periods. In my weekly routine, I plan ahead to ensure pets receive dedicated attention, whether it’s scheduled walks, or drop-in visits. I prioritize maintaining each pet’s normal feeding, exercise, and rest schedule so they feel comfortable and secure. I provide personalized care depending on the service and each pet’s unique needs. I treat every home and every pet with the same level of care and responsibility as I would my own.
“I wanted to share my wonderful experience with Shane as our dog sitter. He was fantastic! My dogs absolutely loved him and seemed to have an amazing time during their stay. Shane provided great care and attention, making me feel at ease while I was away. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Ashley was awesome with Spence! She watched him overnight and took such great care of him. The photo updates she sent were the best and totally put our minds at ease while we were away. It was so nice to see him looking relaxed and completely at home with her. Everything went so smoothly from drop-off to pick-up. We’ll definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Margaret took excellent care of our senior dog while we were traveling. She was very attentive to his needs and made him feel very comfortable while we were away. She even graciously agreed to extend his stay for a couple of days when our flight home was canceled. I highly recommend her services!”

“We love Doreen! She is so kind, loves animals and treats pets wonderfully. Her house set up with yard is so comfortable and perfect for a dog like ours who is active and needs a place to run. Will definitely be a repeat customer. Highly recommend her!”

“Jocelyn was great with communication and accommodating specific requests. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs. I highly recommend her and will absolutely be using her services again.”

“Danae was awesome! She kept us updated with how Kirin was doing thru lots of pictures and videos. I can tell Kirin definitely loved her and we realized he’s even more socialized now, she’s so nice and experienced, definitely will recommend Danae to all my friends who have pups!”

“Nina and Augustine were amazing watching my little guy! They paid attention to the little details that I didn’t have to ask for like letting him play outside, taking him to the dog park, or even spend time cuddling with him. They kept me updated every day with how he was doing with random texts and pictures! I will definitely use them again any chance we get!”

“Absolutely amazing experience with Laura! We feel so lucky to have found her. She took the best care of our boy and sent so many pupdates, the communication was top notch. I think he was upset when we picked him up because he didn’t want to leave😂 She is also super knowledge and attentive which was incredibly reassuring while we were away. We will definitely be booking with Laura in the future and 100% recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 14 years old. I have helped with fur babies of family, friends, and others I have babysat for in the past. I had a family dog that lived up to 13 years, so I have experience in caring for senior dogs as well as senior cats. Currently, my senior kitty is 16 years old and going strong! I also have experience in providing medication. My cat has gastrointestinal issues and requires subcutaneous fluids and lactulose so I am comfortable in providing help with medication or following a certain care regime for your pets. I also have experience with kittens as young as 3 months and dogs as young as 1 years old but am also comfortable in caring for puppies. I know they require lots of stimulation and play time as they are energetic, and I am happy to provide that for you and your pets. I am also very patient and mindful of your senior babies so they will be in great hands as well! I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I can provide services such as housesitting, dog walking, or daycare on weekends and after 12PM on weekdays. I have two friendly cats that love dogs and other cats to keep your fur baby company. I live near two parks so there are lots of open spaces for your doggies to enjoy. I have a baby/pet gate to separate pets if needed between rooms.
“Torre is awesome! Our cavapoo Barney stayed with him for a weekend and we knew Barney felt comfortable in his home. We did a meet and greet that went well so Barney was familiar with his place prior to him staying there. Torre asked a lot of questions about Barneys routine and was very communicative with us, sending us cute pics of Barney throughout the weekend. 10/10 will book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rye Brook
Karine and her husband are unbelievable caretakers. They truly love the dogs for whom they care and most, if not all, are repeat visitors. They are sensitive to the individual personalities and needs of each and every dog and work to arrange to have dogs who are comparable and really enjoy being together. I cannot imagine my little guy having a better experience than he had with Karine!

Alexandra took great care of our dog Phoebe while we were away and sent lots of photos. She welcomed Phoebe into her home and treated her like her own. When our flight home was delayed, even though Alexandra was unable to extend the dog-sitting by a day (because she was going away herself), she was willing to drive Phoebe to our neighbor’s house before she left so Phoebe wasn’t left without a place to go.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
