“Nandita was absolutely wonderful! We set up a meeting ahead of time to make sure my rescue would get along well with her dog Ozzy and my pup was immediately comfortable with her (you can tell she’s a dog person!) and she helped him get comfortable and acclimate to her space before we confirmed- this really put me at ease. During my dog’s stay Nandita sent regular photos and videos so that while I was away I always knew that my pup was content and happy. She has excellent communication throughout the whole planning and visit and as an added bonus her space is perfect for a dog stay especially her backyard, dog friendly neighborhood, etc. I look forward to booking with Nandita again and really think she is an incredible dog sitter. Thank you Nandita and Ozzy for a great vacation for our pup and I look forward to booking with you again for future trips!!”

“Consuelo and family take such great care - we booked for 3 different times in the week. and yes, our puppy keeps asking, "When are we going back?" Highly recommend!!!”

“Ari and his family took wonderful care of Freddie while we were away. He came back happy, healthy, and clearly had a great time playing with their kids. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos throughout the week, which gave us complete peace of mind. We would absolutely use their services in the future.”

“Saiad was a trustworthy and reliable sitter during Max's stay. Max can be an insecure dog, but Saiad made sure he felt comfortable and well cared for throughout his visit. He followed all of our instructions, accommodated a meet-and-greet beforehand, and made sure Max had a great time playing fetch and enjoying his stay. Would love to book with him again!”

Weekdays- early a.m. until 3pm Weekends- all day I make sure to stick to their schedule and treat them like my own. Love to play, walk, give them belly rubs/groom and go to the dog park.
“Alexis and her husband took great care of my fur babies. They spoiled them and shared their special moments with me. My doggies are super happy and had a great time. I highly recommend her. Thank you, Alexis.”

“Margaret took excellent care of our senior dog while we were traveling. She was very attentive to his needs and made him feel very comfortable while we were away. She even graciously agreed to extend his stay for a couple of days when our flight home was canceled. I highly recommend her services!”

“My dog is so comfortable here. Nina & family really do everything to treat your dog like a beloved member of the family. Daisy comes home healthy, happy and loved. We can go on vacation with no guilt because it’s like a vacation for her too! I so appreciate all the photos and updates about how Daisy is doing. I wholeheartedly recommend Nina and family for any dog lover!”

“Tina and her husband took wonderful care of my Lucy. They were quick to respond/schedule a meet and greet and were very receptive of all of Lucy’s personality quirks. They were flexible with drop off/pick up, provided great updates, and were very communicative. Lucy will definitely be back!”

“Scooter had the BEST holiday week with Tabitha and her family. It’s nerve-racking leaving your dog somewhere new for the first time, especially for a full week. We got so many picture updates of scooter having a blast and playing throughout the week and he even made a new doggie friend which can be hit or miss for him. We will happily send him to her family again anytime they are up for hosting. Highly recommend!!”

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.

“Laura was great from the first day we contacted her to the day she brought Caramel back home. She showed us the house, asked all the right questions, replied to our txts, sent pictures, super punctual and - most importantly- super caring with our Caramel. She is one of the best sitters in Rover for sure.”

“Stefanie was amazing - kind, patient and understanding with our anxious pup's first boarding experience ever, and a great communicator. She and her human and four legged family members welcomed our pup with open arms and helped put our mind at ease that our pup was in great hands. Would definitely recommend and we'd definitely book with her again!!”

“Paola did a wonderful job of taking care of my 7 year old dog while I was out of town for about a week. I missed him a lot, but she was lovely to share updates and photos of him. I would definitely be happy to leave Tito with her again in the future.”

“Diane was an amazing sitter for our older dog! I cannot say enough good things about her. I could tell from the outset that Diane genuinely cared for my dog and wanted to give him the care that he needs. And while we were traveling, we received lots of picture and video updates, and could clearly see how well he was being treated by Diane. She went above and beyond and I would highly recommend her services!”

“I would highly recommend Yenis. She is very responsive, willing to take on last minute boarding, and most of all, incredible with my golden! I plan to use her again.”

About: I’m Simone and I’ve been taking care for dogs for over 14 years. What started as helping out friends and family quickly turned into something much bigger. I’ve now become the go-to sitter for a wide circle of people, including their friends and referrals. I love animals and treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s a high-energy puppy who needs playtime and exercise or a senior dog who just wants companionship, I tailor my care to meet each pet’s unique personality and needs. I understand how important consistency and presence are for animals when their owners are away. Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine. We have a 3 year old Mini-Goldendoodle. My husband and I both work from home and take our dog out for two long walks as well as one short walk and as many potty breaks as needed. We live on a quiet street with many other friendly dogs. We have a 3 year old Mini-Goldendoodle who loves playing with other dogs or just having company.

Natalia and her husband took very good care of our cat. They are cat lovers and gave her a lot of love, attention and cuddles. She loved them too! They made sure to send lots of update pictures and videos. I am glad I found this wonderful family that I can rely on in the future.

Alexandra took great care of our dog Phoebe while we were away and sent lots of photos. She welcomed Phoebe into her home and treated her like her own. When our flight home was delayed, even though Alexandra was unable to extend the dog-sitting by a day (because she was going away herself), she was willing to drive Phoebe to our neighbor’s house before she left so Phoebe wasn’t left without a place to go.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
