“Alexis was amazing and she was so thoughtful to send us videos during our time away from our pup, Rosie! The fact that she would be the one reaching out to us during our vacation definitely assured me that Alexis was taking great care of our Rosie. I would 110% use her again for our future needs!”

“Doreen is wonderful! It's the 2nd time we have left our 12-year-old Lab, RJ there. She takes wonderful care of him, is loving, experienced, and a great communicator! She sends us pictures and messages during his stay, which greatly puts my mind at ease! And she's very flexible! Highly recommend! I will most definitely use her next time we need to be away!”

“Charmaine took a very good care of Teddy. She sent photos of him every day and shared what he was doing. Teddy looked happy and well cared for. I'd use Charmaine again. Thank you”

“Fantastic dog sitter! Kiara responds quickly to any messages and we loved getting pictures of our dog while away. Our dog looked happy when we returned--we've already booked Kiara for a couple more weekends!”

About: I’ve always enjoyed taking care of dogs since I was a child. I had a childhood dog, Rags who I doted on. In 2004, my dreams came true with having a dog of my own, Missy. Missy was a wonderful addition to my family for her lifetime of 17 years. I have a lot of love to give to your dog. I”m a teacher who’s off for the summer and when school resumes in the fall, I’m home by 2:45 pm. This schedule will allow me to go above and beyond when taking care of your dog. Your dog will be able to run freely in our home. I work close by so I will come home to walk your dog during the work day and then I’m home from work by 3PM. Once I’m home, I will play and pet your dog continuously as I did for 17 years with my beloved Missy.
About: With 5 years of hands on experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, I’m dedicated to helping dogs become confident, well mannered companions. I also hold a degree in K9 Training and Management from SUNY Cobleskill giving me both the practical experience and professional education to provide structured, effective, and personalized care. Pet care is a part of my everyday life. Outside of work, I continue to dedicate my time to dog training and boarding. I am completely available Friday and Saturday and am available every other day after 6pm! Because I have a supportive family that helps with my boarding program, each dog is consistently taken outside for potty breaks, exercise, and fresh air throughout the day. Dogs staying in my home have access to a fully fenced backyard where they can safely go out for potty breaks, exercise, and supervised play. Inside, I have a finished basement that provides a clean, comfortable, and climate-controlled space for dogs to relax, train, and rest. Every dog follows a structured routine that includes regular outdoor breaks, feeding according to the owner’s schedule, enrichment, and plenty of individual attention. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment where every dog feels at home.

“It was very easy to communicate with Christine. Our dog stayed with other family only once before so we were a little worried it might to much stress for her. Christine was open to meeting us and our dog in advance. Our dog Bella definitely was in good hands. She played a lot with other dogs and had a good time. Getting pictures of her was very nice!”

“Anat was great with Bodi. He’s a puppy and she was super responsive, attentive to his needs, and followed my instructions to a tee. He had fun play dates and we received lots of fun videos and pictures.”

“Lucy is an amazing sitter! My 11 month old toy poodle Timmy loves staying with her. I get plenty of photos and status updates and feel really confident and safe knowing my little guy is in good hands. He’s already spent a few nights with her and I can’t wait to book more!”

About: **Inquire directly if you'd like to have your dog a part of your wedding day*** I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and cats and have a deep love for all animals, big or small. I don't currently have a pet but I regularly dog-sit and babysit for friends in the area. With a background in education, I’ve learned the importance of patience and positive reinforcement—qualities that I bring into every interaction with animals. As a passionate pet lover, I plan to pursue dog training certifications soon, so every booking brings me closer to that goal. Cuddles, long walks, and lots of love are guaranteed! My best availability is Monday through Thursday since I often travel on weekends. That said, I’m happy to help whenever I’m in town! I work full-time on Main Street, but my flexible schedule allows me to swing by for a walk during lunch—or even more, depending on the day! When caring for pets, their safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I make sure to follow any specific routines, feeding schedules, and house rules to keep things consistent and stress-free. Positive reinforcement and plenty of patience guide all of my interactions, ensuring pets feel secure and loved. Whether it's a walk, a cuddle session, or playtime, I strive to make every moment enjoyable for the animals in my care. Additionally, I keep communication open with pet parents, providing updates for peace of mind. Each visit or stay is tailored to the pet's unique needs, ensuring they feel at ease—whether it’s in my care or their own familiar environment.
“Really grateful to have found them. They were able to take care of my pup last minute and Sophie had an amazing time. I will definitely be using them again. Highly recommend!”

“Sunny was a fantastic dog sitter and we would 100% book with her again! She was extremely communicative throughout Ruby’s stay and genuinely seemed to enjoy spending time with her. Sunny was also incredibly accommodating when our flight was delayed and we were late picking Ruby up. Most importantly, Ruby was a very happy dog when we picked her up! Highly recommend Sunny.”

“Raymond and family took exceptional care of Teddy! We appreciated the daily updates, photos and videos. He received lots of attention and adjusted very well to this loving family. We highly recommend Raymond!”

“Joanna was great. Evie can be stressed / anxious and she managed to get Evie comfortable quickly and adjusted with the other dog who was boarding at the same time. Joanna sent regular updates and helped us feel comfortable the whole weekend!”

“I really appreciated how quickly Anderson responded to me when I was looking for last minute care for my dog while out of town. He was very communicative and very flexible about taking Fitz that day. Fit seemed to have a great time with Anderson and his dog, and I would highly recommend Anderson to other dog owners.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 17 years. Besides raising my own dogs, I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs for stays ranging from one week to two months. My Goldendoodle loves making new dog friends, and many of our guests have become his best buddies. I work from home most of the week, so I have plenty of time to care for dogs throughout the day. They get regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention, and are rarely left alone. I have fenced yard where my dog loves to play fetch. I usually let my dog out around 8am to play until 9am. All the dogs are welcome to join to play together!
“Our boy has a great time with Cristina! He loves playing in the yard and snuggling up with some blankets at her place. She’s super communicative and takes amazing pictures of him. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hartsdale
Ace had a wonderful stay with Robert! He kept us updated throughout the stay with messages, photos, and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We unexpectedly got stuck an extra day due to travel, and Robert was incredibly accommodating—he worked with us to extend Ace’s stay and even helped make sure he had enough food. When we picked Ace up, he was happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable. We’re so grateful for Robert’s flexibility and excellent care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Highly recommend!

Taylor was amazing with our little one. She took care of our Shih Tzu for over a week. She attentively listened when we explained his needs and asked well thought questions. She welcomed a meet and greet for our little one to get acquainted with her and a new place, which was very helpful. While we were away, she not only sent us daily updates, pics and videos, but went above and beyond to make him comfortable. She even bought him a toy! By the time we went to pick him up he didn’t want to leave! We will be utilizing her for a long time. Your little one will be in the best of care with her.

What does every dog ‘parent’ want if they have to leave their dog with a sitter? 100% peace of mind. For their dog to be cared for as they would be by you. To be updated regularly and feel great after each update. And to come home to find that their dog was just as happy and loved and safe as they would have been with you. Luz and Michelle tick every single box. There aren’t enough superlatives to express the gratitude I feel for their love and care of Allie!!! ❤️🐶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕➕➕🐶❤️

Aurora was right at home during her stay and I was worry free! From the moment I met Saiad and he showed us around I knew Aurora would be in good hands. Clean and attentive- making sure to share photos and details of Aurora’s stay. It was just the safe, happy stay we required.

Christina was great with tofu! We got regular updates and also tofu seemed to be having a blast with her puppy ! Would definitely pick her again if we ever need to board him, was super patient with our young 1.5 yr old highly energetic dog 🐶 . Also as an added bonus as she has her own puppy - our dog got a nice friend over the course of his stay!

Rafaelina is a true dog lover and was absolutely incredible to our dog Wally! Wally is typically an anxious pup, and we went to Rafaelina’s house before a 2 night stay for a meet and greet and she immediately made Wally feel at home. Her house is set up perfectly for dogs with a great outdoor space, and Wally did really well there. We received regular updates, and she was incredibly responsive.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
