“What a wonderful stay for our 2 dogs! Karine and her husband were truly amazing hosts. They took wonderful care of our two small dogs. Karine shared regular updates and photos that reassured us of the excellent care they were delivering. Could not recommend more highly!”

“Kiara has a lovely home with a backyard which is a huge plus in my eyes. My dog gets nervous/shy when going to new places and she was really great with him. I definitely plan to return and highly recommend her!”

“Juan took great care of my puppy! I was very nervous to leave her for the first time for the weekend, but she did great. Juan provided updates and my puppy seemed to be happy and tired when I picked her up! I think she loved being with Juan’s dog, and the large back yard to play. I highly recommend Juan.”

“We've left Chelsea for a few week-long trips and feel very comfortable with Doreen watching her. Doreen is dependable, reliable and easy to work with, plus she sends us pictures to let us know our Chelsea is settling in and doing well. 5 stars!”

“Raymond and family took exceptional care of Teddy! We appreciated the daily updates, photos and videos. He received lots of attention and adjusted very well to this loving family. We highly recommend Raymond!”

“Christine was great! Very flexible, is great with our 10month old doodle who has ALOT of energy. She has a spacious backyard which our Guinness loves, and she took him to our local dog park which he also loves! I didn’t worry at all while I was away. Thanks Christine!”
“Joanna took great care of Teddy. I loved that Joanna hosted another dog of similar size to play with him. She took many pictures and was always in contact with me. Teddy looked very happy and satisfied with his time with Joanna.”

“Noelle was amazing! We felt Koda was in such good hands. She took the time to learn our pup’s routine — feeding, walks, everything — and really stuck to it. She kept us updated with cute photos and even checked in to see if certain things were normal for her, which I really appreciated. You can tell she genuinely cares. We’ll definitely be booking with Noelle again!”

“Henry and Kyungwon did an excellent job watching Coco. They made sure her medicine was given on time and sent regular updates. Coco was calm and content when we returned. We plan to use Henry and Kyungwon again.”

“Emma took great care of my dog Buddy! She kept us updating by sending pictures and messages to check in! She was great at responding and looks like Buddy had a great time. Would definitely book again!”

“This is Allie’s third stay with Luz and Michelle. The moment we pulled up, Allie started to squeal and couldn’t wait to see them. She LOVES being with them — and with their regular texts and photos, I always know how happy and well cared for Allie is. She is always clean and in great shape when I pick her up. I drive 11 hours each way to leave Allie with Luz and Michelle because they are so wonderful!! Allie and I are so grateful for them. I cannot recommend them highly enough.”

“Rhinesca took great care of our guy while we were away. We received updates on his daily walks and he was so happy. We were worried he would not want to come home. In the future we will certainly book another stay.”

“Saiad was a trustworthy and reliable sitter during Max's stay. Max can be an insecure dog, but Saiad made sure he felt comfortable and well cared for throughout his visit. He followed all of our instructions, accommodated a meet-and-greet beforehand, and made sure Max had a great time playing fetch and enjoying his stay. Would love to book with him again!”

“Melissa and her entire family were great. Our highly energetic Australian Shepherd had a wonderful stay. Melissa sent us updates including pictures and videos. Bailey was walked and had play time with several other dogs. We had great confidence in leaving our dog with Melissa and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for care.”

“We left our dog for 3 days. We had constant updates from Aeli, pictures and how he was doing. We was absolutely 💯 perfect satisfied how this stay was handled. Definitely will use her again.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of a one-year-old French Bulldog, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, and caring to look after your pup. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s going for walks, playtime, or just giving them attention and affection. I have experience walking and caring for other dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I’m comfortable handling energetic pups as well as dogs that prefer a slower pace. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always focus on making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while in my care. As a dog owner myself, I know how important routines, communication, and reliability are. I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, and care, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away. We are beyond grateful to Tracy for taking such fantastic care of our dog while we were away for a week. They made her a part of the family and she seemed to love hanging out with them and spending time in their secure, fenced-in yard. Communication before and during Isla's stay was super prompt and the photo updates were much-appreciated.

Danea was absolutely amazing taking care of Luna! She kept me updated every single day with messages, photos, and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Luna was well cared for, happy, and loved. I really appreciated how attentive, reliable, and communicative Danea was throughout the entire stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I would definitely trust her with Luna again. Highly recommend!

Jennifer and her husband took wonderful care of our dogs. From the initial meet-and-greet to drop-off and pick-up, everything was smooth and easy. We received updates, and it was clear our dogs were happy, well cared for, and treated like part of the family. We would absolutely trust Jennifer with our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter. 🐾💕

Lizzy took amazing care of my cat, Oreo, who is the most important thing in my life for a little over 2 weeks while I went on vacation. I had such a good vacation for the first time in a very long time and it is DIRECTLY because Lizzy took such good care of Oreo! I had no guilt or worry when I left which never happens. She kept me informed and very comfortable the whole time about his accommodations and contentment. Great person and a great, safe, clean home. I also didn’t even have to bring anything except Oreo and his food (and favorite blanket, of course). I would HIGHLY recommend Lizzy and will be contacting her again in the future :)

Joanne goes above and beyond for boarding! We did a meet and greet beforehand, she helped communicate what to expect when leaving our pup for the first time and communicated a lot while we were gone which helped calm our nerves. Marshall was in great hands and couldn’t have asked for a better person to leave him with. We would highly recommend her!

Sophie is terrific! We are very grateful to her for taking great care of our girl Maisie for five nights. Our pup had so much fun with her new friends at Sophie’s place. She sent us daily updates and photos to relay how great things were going. We will definitely use Sophie again to watch Maisie, she has a kind heart, very positive, and is very good with dogs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
