About: I have grown up around dogs my entire life and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. Spending time with animals is my happy place and nothing brings me more joy than caring for and playing with them. I have a great deal of experience taking care of many dogs of various breeds and sizes. I currently have the flexibility to fully dedicate myself to what I would call my dream job which is working with animals. I can go on long or short walks and have an enclosed dog park around my area. I have taken care of dogs with medical problems and have experience giving dogs medicine such as eye drops and pills. I am a quick learner when it comes to the specific conditions the owner has for their dog .
“Ivon was the most perfect peace of mind. We’re new to the area and she helped us in a pinch. She communicated often — and with lots of photos! We never had to wonder what our pup was up to, the updates were so frequent and thorough. And filled his day with so many fun activities. We’re so grateful!”

“Denise watched my dog Paddy for over a week while he was recovering from Lyme’s. She was very friendly, kind and assuring during this period. She also communicated with me daily and sent updates and pictures. I would highly recommend.”

“Margaret was an amazing caretaker for our 6-month old puppy while we were away for four nights! From the very first interaction we had together—a detailed phone call reviewing all of our preferences and needs and approaches and philosophies—to frequent and detailed communication (with photos!) of how our dog's visit was going, we felt at every turn that we—and our pup—were in the absolute best of hands. Thank you, Margaret! We, and Fred, will be back =)”

“Carrigan is lovely. I was very anxious about leaving my havenese dog for the first time but within hours Carrigan was sending me pictures and updates many times during his stay. Made my trip more enjoyable for me! Thank you. Carrrigan.”

“Irene was wonderful! She kept us updated daily with pictures and videos of our baby, and was always quick to respond. She was also very flexible with meeting, and for pick up and drop off. Would absolutely leave our princess with her again!”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life. Your sweet pet will be loved just like they would be at home. I have experience with all dog sizes and temperaments. Your pet will be the focus of my day under my care. I love to be active and outside but happy to adjust to whatever your pet prefers. Your pets will be cuddled, walked, played with, and have a fun stay in safe hands with me. They will be treated with love and care.
“Katherine was great! Start to finish. Very accommodating, She really put these first time boarders at ease, this continued throughout our trip with her sending daily updates & pics! Will definitely be using her again!”

About: Playing with them, taking them for walks and giving them lots of love is part of my experience. I love working with them and making them feel safe with me. Working with animals is my passion. I feel that they are part of my life, that they are essential, they are part of our families and they deserve to be loved and respected. I am responsible for their care and feeding. I like to take them for walks. It is very essential for them to give them love and affection. Playing with them is part of their environment.
“We are already looking forward to our next board with Ashley! She was so communicative, gracious and patient throughout the process and attentive and kind to the individual needs of our pup. He is pooped from his fur party and we are at peace knowing he was safe and positively engaged while we were away. Thank you Ashley, we will be back!”

“Daisy gets wonderful care when she stays with Andrea. Her yard is great for outdoor playtime, and the daily communication and pictures help us to enjoy a worry-free time away!”

“Frank is the best! Always willing to help. I own a yellow lab with food allergies and he takes medication every day. Frank took good care of my dog with lots of attention and love!”
“Another great stay with Rafaelina! Always happy tails and wags for the time together. And we greatly appreciated Rafaelina's flexibility to accommodate a longer stay, when our plans changed. Highly recommend and would stay again and again. Thanks!”

“Consuelo and family take such great care - we booked for 3 different times in the week. and yes, our puppy keeps asking, "When are we going back?" Highly recommend!!!”

“John was great with our puppy Logan! He sent photos and updates each day and even offered some training tips. Logan seemed happy and exhausted after spending the weekend at John’s. Will definitely book John again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 14 years old. I have helped with fur babies of family, friends, and others I have babysat for in the past. I had a family dog that lived up to 13 years, so I have experience in caring for senior dogs as well as senior cats. Currently, my senior kitty is 16 years old and going strong! I also have experience in providing medication. My cat has gastrointestinal issues and requires subcutaneous fluids and lactulose so I am comfortable in providing help with medication or following a certain care regime for your pets. I also have experience with kittens as young as 3 months and dogs as young as 1 years old but am also comfortable in caring for puppies. I know they require lots of stimulation and play time as they are energetic, and I am happy to provide that for you and your pets. I am also very patient and mindful of your senior babies so they will be in great hands as well! I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I can provide services such as housesitting, dog walking, or daycare on weekends and after 12PM on weekdays. I have two friendly cats that love dogs and other cats to keep your fur baby company. I live near two parks so there are lots of open spaces for your doggies to enjoy. I have a baby/pet gate to separate pets if needed between rooms.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Old Greenwich
Ashley was awesome with Spence! She watched him overnight and took such great care of him. The photo updates she sent were the best and totally put our minds at ease while we were away. It was so nice to see him looking relaxed and completely at home with her. Everything went so smoothly from drop-off to pick-up. We’ll definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone!

Kevin was enthusiastic & held the reins well, in acting as a surrogate for me, in the care of my lil Pup, who I adore! When I picked him up from his overnight stay… he returned happy, healthy & safe & sound! I also loved the pics he sent me. If needed again in the future, Kevin would be my “go to” caretaker for my Pup!

Stefanie was amazing - kind, patient and understanding with our anxious pup's first boarding experience ever, and a great communicator. She and her human and four legged family members welcomed our pup with open arms and helped put our mind at ease that our pup was in great hands. Would definitely recommend and we'd definitely book with her again!!

Darline took great care of our Mini Aussie (Bentley) while we were away. She provided regular updates and photos while also making sure he was safe and having fun during his stay! It looks like he had more fun than he even has at home! Look forward to booking with Darline again.

JJ boarded our kitten, Lilo, for a week and it was such a great experience! I know boarding a cat can feel a bit unconventional, but Lilo really thrives on human interaction, so this was the perfect fit for him. JJ kept us updated with pictures and videos every day, which made us feel so comfortable while we were away. It was clear Lilo was well cared for and happy. We would definitely use JJ again!

Sarah was super friendly and available on short notice, which we really appreciated. We recently moved to the U.S., so our dog is still adjusting to all the new surroundings and changes. Sarah kept me updated and let me know that he was quite restless, and she really tried to understand him and respond to his needs. I’m grateful for her patience and care!

Claire was wonderful hosting my little Yorkie for two full days while I was away. He was in great hands!! She was caring, loving and super patient with him. I received very detailed updates about his stay and he was super relaxed when getting back home. Thank you so much Claire! 🐾

This was my first time using Rover and my first time leaving Troy with someone and LisaLeigh made the whole process really easy! She kept me updated throughout the weekend and took great care of him. Troy came home happy and tired, which is all I could ask for. I really appreciated how smooth everything went and how flexible LisaLeigh was with the early pickup and drop off time. Will definitely book with her again for next trips out of town!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
