“Diana was amazing with my pup, Louis! He had an absolute blast — especially getting to run around outside and play with the other dogs and kids, which is such a treat for him since he doesn’t get that kind of freedom in Manhattan. I could tell he was well cared for and totally in his element. Communication was great, with tons of photos daily, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such a loving, fun environment. I’d strongly recommend Diana to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible sitter — we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“"Jenny exceeded all my expectations! She kept me updated with photos and videos, ensured my dog's routine was maintained, and even gave extra TLC. Thank you, Jenny, for giving me peace of mind while I was away! Five stars isn't enough – I'd give her ten stars if I could!"”

“Julia was terrific! She and Bailey hit it off right away. Got a bunch of pics with Bailey out for a walk, playing with toys and a restful night sleep. Will use Julia again!”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“Kristen and her partner were amazing! We received many photos of Mako on walks and hanging out with them at home. Knowing Mako was well taken care of gave us piece-of-mind to enjoy the weekend of wedding activities. Thanks Kristen!”

“Blanca is simply the best. She is the only dog sitter we trust with our slightly anxious dog, Chai. Chai LOVES Blanca which is a massive compliment because she is rarely happy with any dog sitting situation. Blanca genuinely loves and cares for all dogs like they are her own.”

“Jordan is pleasant and responsive. Latke was returned happy and healthy. He let me know that he had another booking that would overlap mine, which turned out OK but would have been an issue if the dogs didn’t get along. His apartment is small and it would have been difficult to keep the dogs separated. Also I would have appreciated more photos, especially on the first day with the other dog. He responded promptly with pictures when prompted. Overall, I would recommend him.”

“Clinton & his son were terrific. Our dog, Ripley, came home very happy. She got along very well with their dog and they kept each other company. We also received photos while we were away which was great.”

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.

About: I have always had a very deep love for animals 🐈🐩and caring for them truly makes me happy, I am a very patient calm and loving person and I treat every pet like family. I have a lot of experience with dogs and cats, including senior pets, blind pets, and pets that need medications or extra care. I also work in healthcare so I have knowledge in first aid and monitoring health conditions which helps me provide safe attentive and responsible care for every pet while making them feel comfortable loved and at home. I currently work part-time in healthcare, which allows me the flexibility to dedicate quality time to caring for pets. Animals have always held a special place in my heart, and I genuinely love making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to create a calm, caring environment where your pet feels at home, with plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and supervision. I’m available on weekends, evenings, overnight stays, and most weekdays after work, and I would be honored to care for your furry family member as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and loving home where every pet can feel safe and relaxed. I have two separate private rooms available if your dog or cat prefers a quiet space to rest, needs time to adjust, or if you request separate accommodations. I also have a very friendly cat who is gentle and comfortable around both dogs and cats. I have reliable transportation, so I can take dogs to nearby parks for walks, fresh air, playtime, and exercise. I have experience caring for senior pets, anxious pets, blind pets, and pets that require medication or extra attention. Working in healthcare has taught me to be attentive, patient, compassionate, and detail oriented, allowing me to closely monitor each pet’s behavior and well being. I will care for your furry family member as if they were my own, making sure they feel loved, comfortable, active, and stress-free throughout their stay.
“Karen is a wonderful dog sitter, she gave our baby so much love and attention. She followed her schedule and it looked like she was right at home! She communicated throughout the days and took so many excellent pictures. Roxy misses her already!!”

“Stefanie was amazing - kind, patient and understanding with our anxious pup's first boarding experience ever, and a great communicator. She and her human and four legged family members welcomed our pup with open arms and helped put our mind at ease that our pup was in great hands. Would definitely recommend and we'd definitely book with her again!!”

“Our 2 frenchies stayed with Gabrielle for 10 days while we were out of town, and had a great time! They seemed right at home, and it was so nice to know our girls were so spoiled and well-loved while we were gone.”

“Ashley was awesome with Spence! She watched him overnight and took such great care of him. The photo updates she sent were the best and totally put our minds at ease while we were away. It was so nice to see him looking relaxed and completely at home with her. Everything went so smoothly from drop-off to pick-up. We’ll definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Denise and her family were incredible. Our new puppy had a nice backyard and home to play. He was cared for as if he was their own puppy. We were sent pics and updates. Denise and her family took in our puppy while we traveled as a last minute booking and I am So happy to have found her”
“I had an amazing experience with our dog Omar! He truly went above and beyond to make sure Lou was happy, comfortable and well cared for. Every day Omar sent thoughtful updates along with lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my fur baby was getting plenty of love and attention. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely book with Omar again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter!”

“Delmy and her daughter were great! They sent photos and videos constantly. Her house was clean and she even let me come and meet her before I even booked. It was very comforting knowing she wanted me to feel comfortable leaving my Remi with her. Thank you so much!”

“Valentina was such an incredible sitter who not only shared constant photos and videos but you could tell the cat was being cared and loved in her temporary home! Definitely one of the best out there!”

“Margaret took excellent care of our senior dog while we were traveling. She was very attentive to his needs and made him feel very comfortable while we were away. She even graciously agreed to extend his stay for a couple of days when our flight home was canceled. I highly recommend her services!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
