“We had a great experience with Tori! She is reliable, caring, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. Our dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly felt comfortable with her. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were in such good hands. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter!!!”

“I cannot say enough about Ashley! She spent the weekend with my dogs and she was FABULOUS! The sweetest young lady. My dogs LOVE her (and they don’t love many!!). Ash sent me pictures all weekend, great communication- such an incredible demeanor with the dogs. I literally feel like for the first time in years, I can actually go away with total confidence and trust that my dogs are in the best of hands. She is really special.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals—dogs(5), cats(2), and even lizards—so caring for pets comes naturally to me. From playful puppies to gentle seniors, I give every pet the love, patience, and attention they deserve. I’ve adopted most of my own pets and know how to make animals feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. Being away for college makes me miss my own pets so caring for yours is a joy that feels like home. Im currently in school but am in class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:50 am and 3:30 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I am in class from 9 am to 12 pm and free for the rest of the day. On Fridays I have on class at 11 am and nothing prior or after. The weekends are also free. I will always prioritize safety and respect when caring for pets in their own homes. I follow all the owner’s rules carefully—whether it’s about feeding schedules, playtime limits, or medication. I make sure doors and gates are secure, and keep a close eye on the pet’s behavior to spot any signs of stress or discomfort. I creating a calm, comforting environment so pets feel safe and loved while their family is away. Communication with the owner is important to me, so I keep them updated and address any concerns promptly. My goal is to make both pets and owners feel confident and comfortable.
About: I’ve taken care of all 3 of the dogs I’ve known/had in my lifetime from the early age of 8. My family has relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, brush&comb their fur, and brush their teeth. I have even dog sat other people’s dogs and they returned safely and happily back to their owners. As if they were my own I do almost anything to protect your dog as well as ensure they are well cared for, feeling and looking good, as well as are content when they are in my care. I’m able to keep up with the hygiene needs of dogs very well as well as being well versed on a good nutritional diet for a dog. I too am able to take care of puppies/dogs ranging from any age to any size and breed. I don’t discriminate! I currently don’t have any obligations as I am on summer break from college. I’m available anytime during the day or evening to care, tend, play, and love your animals! I plan to take dogs on walks everyday and as a bonus it will surely keep me in shape. I care for pets in my home as if they were my own 2 dogs that I have at home. They would obviously adhere to the same rules and standards as my dogs have at home. They are allowed on couches and beds, to have treats given with a command, and to freely roam majority of the house and the entirety of the spacious and fenced in backyard under supervision as they please. I would provide their own water and food dishes, any basic grooming if the client wanted that, and give them their own bed to sleep or relax on. Whatever other routine and requirements the client requested I would of course also implement. As for a clients home, which would be preferred, I would act as a guest and care for the pets under the parameters given by their owner. I would be sure to refill their water and give them food as intended and I would also sit on the floor with them and play/entertain them. Lastly, the most important thing, is I would follow and actively engage in their pet parameters they have as an individual. For example some pets aren’t allowed on furniture or some might need to have their paws wiped when transitioning from outdoors to indoors.

About: HIGHLY EXPERIENCED WITH DOGS THAT HAVE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES!! Eager to work! :) I have grown up with, and helped care for, dogs my whole life. For the past 3 years I have been training my dog, currently with assistance from a trainer. He was fearful-reactive and is now an amazing service dog in training. I have been a volunteer at the world’s largest no-kill shelter for 2 years now. I have handled dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I have worked with blind and senior dogs. I have run puppy play groups, as well as puppy mill, senior, and teen play groups. some behavioral challenges in dogs that I have worked with include: fearful; reactive; food and/or object possessive; stranger danger; seperation anxiety; dog vs dog aggression; strong leadership; mouthy; and more i’m sure i’m forgetting. I have taken several extensive dog training classes to improve my skill and knowledge. I was the first 16 year old to reach one of the most advanced dog levels. I am very well-versed in understanding dog body language. I have dealt with sick dogs as well as dogs with skin conditions. I have helped get the neighbors dog to eat, as well as go potty and play, and dog walked for several clients. I also have experience with cats from the shelter as i have taken advanced feline behavior classes. I am able to understand cat body language fairly well. I have worked with cats as well as kittens, and cat sat several times. I can care for, and clean up after, dogs and/or cats. I will always respect your pets boundaries. I am currently an undergrad with the goals of becoming a veterinarian! I will genuinely treat your fur babies as my own. My dedication and passion truly is to ALL animals. 🩷 I am a full time college student. I regularly update my calendar to show my availability. Make sure to check there! Can’t wait to hear from you :) I will make sure your pet has fresh food and water, as well as making sure there is nothing clearly dangerous left out that the pet could hurt themselves with or eat. I will ensure everything is as it was when I came, as well as closing and locking any doors I used. I will dispose of animal waste as instructed. On walks I have a steady balance and strong leash hold to ensure the dog stays with me. I may carry treats with me for minor training/intervention (if allowed and if the dog pulls or something like that). If your dog is scared of certain things or creatures I will take precautions to avoid anything triggering to the dog. Lastly, I will certainly make sure the pet(s) feel loved, happy, and relaxed.

“Stephanie is was great with Abby. She kept me updated at all times. Abby really enjoyed her company and I could not be more happy. I recommend her she is amazing and even fed my pet goldfish!”

“This was my first time using Rover and Jordan made it a great experience for me and my "babies". He stayed overnight for a long weekend with my cat and dog and I couldn't ask for a better person. I left detailed instructions as my cat requires medication twice daily and the dog attempts to always steal his food, so it takes skill to feed them! Jordan was very responsive to any inquiries I had and provided updates. Jordan is very responsible and trustworthy and I will be using him again soon. (My dog fell in love with Jordan @ first sight. He kept barking to be picked up and held by Jordan the whole time we were together going over things!).”

About: Hi! I’m an experienced and safety-focused pet sitter based in Brooklyn, with years of hands-on care for dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and needs. I’ve worked long-term with local families, volunteered with NYC Sean Casey Animal Rescue, and currently work part-time with a Westchester-based pet care company. I’m confident handling everything from high-energy pups to more sensitive or reactive dogs, and I always prioritize calm, structured, and attentive care. What You Can Expect From Me: * Reliable, communicative care and insight (updates + photos) * Safety-first handling, especially in busy NYC environments * Experience with different temperaments and behavioral needs * Respect for your dog’s routine, boundaries, and training Boarding & Home Setup My apartment in Brooklyn and family home in Westchster is pet-friendly and set up with safety in mind: * No toxic plants within reach * Pets allowed on furniture unless you prefer otherwise * Supervised outdoor time with long-lead setups * Quiet, controlled environment away from heavy street traffic While I don’t have a fenced yard, I make up for it with structured walks, enrichment, and safe outdoor exposure. My apartment has a large gated patio, and my family home has two large grassy areas between a patio with a long lead for supervised outdoors time. I currently work freelance in roles that allow me to be home and present throughout the day. I also work part-time with a pet care company based in Westchester on a flexible schedule which has strengthened my hands-on experience with a wide range of dogs and routines. I’m based in Brooklyn and have access to both my apartment and my family home in Westchster for boarding, depending on what best suits your pet’s needs. My schedule allows me to provide consistent care, regular walks, and attention throughout the day rather than long periods of absence. I’m also open to traveling across the Tri-state area for house sitting and extended stays. I’ve been a trusted pet care companion for years, working with local families for both long-term and short stays (up to three weeks), as well as drop-in visits. For boarding, my home is fully pet-friendly, with no restrictions on furniture (unless you prefer otherwise) and no toxic plants within reach. While I don’t have a fenced yard, I provide safe, supervised outdoor time using a long lead in nearby grassy areas, along with access to a private patio. We’re also set back from the main road, which creates a calmer environment. For house sitting, I aim to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while respecting your home. I’m clean, responsible, and low-impact, and I treat every space with care. I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, and any specific instructions closely so your pet feels comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. Safety is always my top priority. I’m attentive, cautious, and respectful when interacting with all animals and other dogs we may encounter. I always follow each owner’s guidance when it comes to socialization, ensuring your pet stays within their comfort zone.

About: Our pets change our lives for the better and I want to make sure they’re well taken care of too. By making connections via talking, playing, training, and grooming I pride myself in providing full care for my furry friends. I make training fun and learn their individual strengths! Pet care is an essential part in my daily routine. Each day begins by walking my pup, refreshing her water and food bowls. At the end of the day, I’m cleaning and prepping to start out routine over, putting toys away and doing our last walk of the night. I love taking my pups out downtown or to the dog park. If it’s dog-friendly, why aren’t we bringing the beans?! Everyone is always happy, fed, hydrated, and well played with. Pet hygiene and environmental cleanliness go hand in hand. I like to make sure I’m keeping my home clean for my pets. After all they play, lounge, and sleep in our home. The least we can do is make sure the space is free of dangerous objects or potential choking hazards. We also use pet gates in our home to ensure pet safety when cooking/cleaning/moving furniture.

“Jill was there with my two dogs for the whole day and did a fabulous job. Both of my dogs have different personalities and she took care of them really well. I look forward to having her take care of her dog soon.”

“We asked Andrea to watch our 4 dogs (including 2 puppies) while we went to Ireland for a week - not an easy task for anyone! When there were hiccups, she informed us right away and we returned to our pets being healthy and safe. She also fed our parrot as well as our outdoor cats. Even my plants were well taken care of!”

About: After having to rehome my sweet Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie mix) due to housing arrangements, I’ve made it my mission to love and care for every pet as if they were my own. Your furry friend’s comfort and happiness will always come first with me! I never tire of playtime and have plenty of energy to keep up with even the most playful pups—but I also adore snuggling with laid-back dogs who just want some company. Since I love being outdoors and staying active, I’d be more than happy to take your dog on long walks or fun outdoor adventures. And for the cat parents out there—I’m a huge cat lover and would be thrilled to care for your feline friends. 😊 I work from home full-time with a flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to devote to your furry friends. My schedule is open and adaptable, so feel free to reach out with any inquiries—I’ll do my best to make it work! I live in a rental home without access to a backyard, but I’m just a short 10-minute walk from a park I know well and love visiting with pets. At home, I have two older, friendly cats who are very relaxed and comfortable around dogs. I’m happy to care for your pets in whatever way works best—whether that’s playing indoors at your home, enjoying some outdoor time around your neighborhood, or heading to the park for extra fun and exercise!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bayville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bayville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bayville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
