About: HIGHLY EXPERIENCED WITH DOGS THAT HAVE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES!! Eager to work! :) I have grown up with, and helped care for, dogs my whole life. For the past 3 years I have been training my dog, currently with assistance from a trainer. He was fearful-reactive and is now an amazing service dog in training. I have been a volunteer at the world’s largest no-kill shelter for 3 years now. I have handled dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I have worked with blind and senior dogs. I have run puppy play groups, as well as puppy mill, senior, and teen play groups. some behavioral challenges in dogs that I have worked with include: fearful; reactive; food and/or object possessive; stranger danger; separation anxiety; dog vs dog aggression; strong leadership; mouthy; and more i’m sure i’m forgetting. I have taken several extensive dog training classes to improve my skill and knowledge. I was the first 16 year old to reach one of the most advanced dog levels. I am very well-versed in understanding dog body language. I have dealt with sick dogs as well as dogs with skin conditions. I have helped get the neighbors dog to eat, as well as go potty and play, and dog walked for several clients. I also have experience with cats from the shelter as i have taken advanced feline behavior classes. I am able to understand cat body language fairly well. I have worked with cats as well as kittens, and cat sat several times. I can care for, and clean up after, dogs and/or cats. I will always respect your pets boundaries. I am currently an undergrad studying animal psychology and medicine! I will genuinely treat your fur babies as my own. My dedication and passion truly is to ALL animals. 🩷 I regularly update my calendar to show my availability, though i’m pretty flexible. Make sure to check there! Can’t wait to hear from you :) I will make sure your pet has fresh food and water, as well as making sure there is nothing clearly dangerous left out that the pet could hurt themselves with or eat. I will ensure everything is as it was when I came, as well as closing and locking any doors I used. I will dispose of animal waste as instructed. On walks I have a steady balance and strong leash hold to ensure the dog stays with me. I may carry treats with me for minor training/intervention (if allowed and if the dog pulls or something like that). If your dog is scared of certain things or creatures I will take precautions to avoid anything triggering to the dog. Lastly, I will certainly make sure the pet(s) feel loved, happy, and relaxed.

Being away for college makes me miss my own pets so caring for yours is a joy that feels like home. Im currently in school but am in class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:50 am and 3:30 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I am in class from 9 am to 12 pm and free for the rest of the day. On Fridays I have on class at 11 am and nothing prior or after. The weekends are also free. I will always prioritize safety and respect when caring for pets in their own homes. I follow all the owner’s rules carefully—whether it’s about feeding schedules, playtime limits, or medication. I make sure doors and gates are secure, and keep a close eye on the pet’s behavior to spot any signs of stress or discomfort. I creating a calm, comforting environment so pets feel safe and loved while their family is away. Communication with the owner is important to me, so I keep them updated and address any concerns promptly. My goal is to make both pets and owners feel confident and comfortable.

About: Currently a 2nd year DVM student at LIU college of veterinary medicine. I have been working in vet hospitals for 6 years, and love to take care of animals. I’m currently a vet student at LIU, so I am mostly available in the evenings and on weekends. But I am more than happy to arrange things as best we can. She spent the night in our house with him, took him out multiple times a day, fed and played with him, while sending us pictures and keeping us updated throughout our entire trip. I was leaving for a much-needed vacation, 8 days, and at the last minute, my friend who was to watch my dog, Kasey Jane, and my 8-month old kitten, Lenta (Polenta!), became sick. “Michelle was absolutely great taking care of our little one and our home while we were gone for 13 days. She is a rare find and a truly calm, gentle soul. She definitely earned all her great reviews. We did a meet and greet first where she came to our home and we knew after that meeting that she was the one! Finding a great pet/house sitter is harder than it seems. So many on Rover don't really seem to understand the meaning of house sitting. It means you actually live in the house with the fur babies not leave every 4 hours and be gone all day. Rest assured Michelle will live in your house so your anxious fur baby remains in their comfort zone and routine. I work from home so I wanted to mimic that level of human presence that out little guy has become accustomed to and she was able to provide that. Michelle took care of little chores like watering plants and feeding our fish, but most importantly she took care of our little baby with plenty of play time and constant companionship. She was very responsive over messenger even though we were in another country. And when we came home the house was perfectly clean and in order. We highly recommend Michelle for pet/house sitting and we will certainly be using her again!”

About: I've had many different dogs over the years: labs, pit bull mixes, miniature pinscher, and german shepherds. I especially love GSDs and am very comfortable walking and taking care of them. I've dog walked/sat for a Rhodesian ridgeback mix as well as a springer spaniel. I was also owner to rescue dogs with severe anxiety. Overall, I'm comfortable with many different dogs! About: Our pets change our lives for the better and I want to make sure they’re well taken care of too. By making connections via talking, playing, training, and grooming I pride myself in providing full care for my furry friends. I make training fun and learn their individual strengths! Pet care is an essential part in my daily routine. Each day begins by walking my pup, refreshing her water and food bowls. At the end of the day, I’m cleaning and prepping to start out routine over, putting toys away and doing our last walk of the night. I love taking my pups out downtown or to the dog park. If it’s dog-friendly, why aren’t we bringing the beans?! Everyone is always happy, fed, hydrated, and well played with. Pet hygiene and environmental cleanliness go hand in hand. I like to make sure I’m keeping my home clean for my pets. After all they play, lounge, and sleep in our home. The least we can do is make sure the space is free of dangerous objects or potential choking hazards. We also use pet gates in our home to ensure pet safety when cooking/cleaning/moving furniture.
