“Jeleesa and her sweet family took incredible care of my dog, Penny. She asked all the right questions, made sure Penny stuck to her walk and feeding schedule, and sent so many amazing photos and videos. Penny does not trust easily, but within 30 minutes of me dropping her off, she trusted Jeleesa enough to be pet on the stomach! We will definitely be coming back for all of our dog sitting needs.”

“Ligia took great care of our pup again! She was happy to play with her Ducky and I felt comfortable leaving her. She knows how to take good care and help the dogs feel at home. Thank you!”
“Highly recommend! She took amazing care of our dog, kept us updated with messages and pictures. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in such great hands. Will definitely book again!”

“I booked Chris to watch over my disabled pup while I was away for a week. Not only is Chris a wonderful, kind, and polite person but he was also attentive to my boy’s every need. Chris maintained the strict schedule I gave him including daily medications and ample playtime to ensure my dog was happy and healthy while he was away from my care. Chris was responsive to my messages and even sent picture updates completely unprompted. I was never left wondering how my pup was doing because Chris went out of his way to constantly update me. After seeing the property Chris resides on, I was comforted to know that my dog would have plenty of room to run around and get his energy out. Chris’s own dogs were friendly and very excited to meet a new friend which I viewed as a great opportunity for my own dog to increase his socialization skills. I’ll be the first to tell you that I am extremely wary of who I allow to care for my boy and I can say, without hesitation, that I was impressed with the intention and gentleness Chris gave my pup. I will certainly be booking with him again!”

“Milo had a great time! I got so many pictures and videos throughout the day and could tell he was truly in good hands. He is absolutely exhausted from playing all day!”

“Tiffany, David, and the kids were absolutely amazing. We were a little nervous leaving our puppy Cooper with anyone since he was so young. when we came for the initial visit I was instantly at ease. All 3 kids played so well with him, they sent pictures of Cooper on walks, cuddling with the kids, and even took him on an adventure to a soccer game! We could not have asked for a better experience and Tiffany & David and the kids will be the first people we call whenever we need someone to watch Cooper. Thank you again!!!”

“Traci was amazing and wonderful! I am so glad to have found her. She sent me photos and updates and made me feel comfortable about leaving my baby with her. I would definitely use her again and recommend to everyone.”
“Hannah Elizabeth was fantastic! It was the first time we left our dog Remy with anyone and Hannah did a q rest job sending us pictures and videos and little meat letting us know Remy was doing well. It was an awesome experience and we will defiantly use Hannah again! ?”

“Kaitlyn deserves 10 stars my dod Milo stayed overnight and she was caring, provides frequent walks, she sent pictures throughout his stay. And she was very kind i would definitely use her again.”

“Charlotte is a phenomenal sitter and I can’t recommend her enough! You can tell she really understands dogs, and our boy Bruno feels so comfortable with Charlotte’s “pack”. She is a great communicator and caretaker!”

“This was Meeshie’s first time away from us and Laurie did an awesome job caring for her. She sent photos and texts letting us know how Meeshie was doing everyday. We are so glad we found a caring/ loving caregiver for our dog and will definitely book Laurie whenever we need someone to look after Meeshie.”

“Kristina was great! First of all I had some uncertainties in my travel plans that she was understanding about as I worked through the final dates/times. She shared pictures and videos during my dog’s stay. I could see he was comfortable there and having fun. Buster was well taken care of and I would book with Kristina again.”

“Linda and her family were great! I loved that she sent videos and pictures throughout the day. My Yorkie, Titan, was very happy and well taken care of during his stay. I would highly recommend using Linda and look forward to using her again in the future.”

“We found ourselves having to leave our dog for a week. Hiring Sarah to take care of Bruno was the best decision. Her attention to detail and constant updates allowed us to not worry. We definitely recommend Sarah.”

“Owen seemed to really enjoy spending time with Brianna’s goldendoodles. He was well cared for and got plenty of play time with some other goldendoodles. The photos I received radiated nothing but love. Thank you for caring for my dog.”

“Tracey took very good care of our sweet pea she called her diva and that name is so fitting. She is so kind, sweet and very knowledgeable of pet care. When I ever go out of town I will always want her to take care of my furry family. I recommend Tracey to any one that needs boarding pet care, you will love her too!”

We live in a secluded area with a large yard which your pets will enjoy. I'm an IT professional and my wife stays home so there is always someone looking after your pets. We'll take the stress away from you while you are away from your pets by treating them like our own. I work full time but my wife Sherry is home all day. We are a team a she will look after the pets during the day and we both will take care of them at night. We currently don't have any dogs since we recently lost our little old man Monty. We have one indoor/outdoor cat named Creature which is very friendly. We have a large back yard which is not fenced but we can take them out on a leash or tie them up on a lead an supervise them. Our property is secluded and is not close to a road so, there is no danger from traffic.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spotsylvania
Jocelyn was great. Her and her family were amazing taking care of our two dogs. She kept me updated and shared photos of them while we were on vacation. It took the worry out of leaving them. She was prompt and accommodating. We will be using her again for our next adventures. Our old dog did not want to leave. Our dogs were loved and cared for and it showed. Thank you, Jocelyn.

This was the first time I've ever let my puppy stay away from me. I was a little afraid, but she was awesome. Scrappy was fine and she's gonna be my dog sitter for a lifetime. As long as I got scrappy I'm keeping her I'm satisfied with her thank you so very kindly. I've told a couple of other people I told my sister so I'm quite sure they will be contacting you. I really appreciate this so much.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
