â**âââââ Stephanie is amazing!** Stephanie took care of my dog Max for 4 days, and I couldnât be happier with the experience. She was incredibly attentive, kept me updated with photos and messages, and made sure Max felt comfortable and loved the entire time. Her home was clean and safe, and Max came back happy and relaxed. I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much!â

âStacie is amazing! Iâve been packing up my house prepping to list my house on he market for sale while my husband was on travel for the month. Remy wasnât doing so well with all the sudden changes and was experiencing stomach issues (vomiting diarrhea). I dropped Remy off at daycare only to turn the car back around to pick him up as I couldnât leave him knowing how hard he fought to not leave my side. I contacted Stacie in the daycare parking lot expressing my current situation and apologizing for the last minute notice. Stacie was very understanding and was available within a few hours to welcome Remy into her home. The meet and greet/drop off was done within a few hours. Stacie personality is soo friendly and understanding while Ziggy is just a big loving teddy bear with a calm temperament. I felt a little better leaving Remy but I wasnât entirely okay driving away. Less than an hour I received an update on Remy with a picture of him playing with his favorite toys. Whew! He has forgotten about Mom and is enjoying Stacie and Ziggy. Throughout Remy 7 day boarding stay, Stacie updated me with pictures throughout the day from sunrise to sunset. Throughout this stressful time of moving (hubby on travel) and Remy away with tummy issues I was really having a hard time. Stacie was a significant help by reassuring me Remy was doing better. I am soo happy i found her on Rover. It was difficult leaving Remy but by the second night I was more relax and able to focus on prepping my house. We communicated throughout his entire stay, Stacie informed me on how he was doing which improved each day. When I picked Remy up Stacie was sad to see Remy leave and honestly I think Remy was too. All Remy belongings were packed and ready. On the way leaving I let down the window in the car and wave while Remy barked goodbye to Stacie and Ziggy! It was definitely reassuring he had a good time. Thank you so much Stacie for helping a stressed out Mom in a time of need. I plan to book you in the future! Big kisses and hugs for Ziggy!â
âDarnell and his family took in and cared for our Ozzy like he was there own . Sent updates along with photos on how he was doing . I highly recommend this family for your pet. Thank you Darnell and family for spoiling our Ozzy .â

âTara was wonderful! She was very easy to communicate with and you can tell my pup had a great time. I felt very much at ease leaving him with her and her family. All I can say is book with her, you wonât regret it!â

âAnother wonderful stay with Maria â Moxie loves getting some outside time in the backyard and Maria does a great job of keeping us informed! She always feels like very trusted hands. Thanks Maria!â

âKatherine is an excellent sitter! I boarded my Yorkipoo with her for 4 days. She sent updates and pictures. She definitely loves dogs and took very good care of my baby. I am happy I found her!â

âJaime and Mike were amazing, they took great care of Bear and treated him like part of the family. They were also amazing at communicating! Would definitely use them again!â

âCaroline and her family took great care of Zeke. She sent pictures and updates. I didnât worry about him while I was away. He came home happy. I will definitely request her services in the future!â

âEverything went very well; Jim provided daily updates with photos. Can't beat that kind of care. I will continue to contact ask for Jim whenever I need to board Dora.â

âAmazing! She is the kindest animal lover. I feel like my girl had summer camp and a week with grandma all rolled together. She gave great daily feedback and supportive pictures to get me through my separation anxiety. I am so glad I went this route and didnât board my girl.â

âRachel was nice, had a nice meet and greet with her and her family and my dog was pretty good when I picked him up. All the other doggies in daycare were playful and friendly to my little guy. I would definitely use her again in the future.â

âCorey is an amazing dog sitter. My dog - Rover stayed with the Corey for 5 days and was a happy pup. Corey took good care of Rover, was accommodating for my requests and sent me almost daily updates with pictures. He has a HUGE fenced backyard where dogs can go and spend time. In all, we had a very positive experience with him. I'll definitely highly recommend Corey and we'll be going back for future dog sitting needs.â

âTina did such a great job watching our dog while we were out of town. She regularly checked in and if I messaged her she was prompted in response. I will definitely use her in the future.â

âJordan and his family was amazing with Monty. He was very quick in his responses with continous updates while taking care of my dog. His home provided the perfect space for Monty to roam and be free. Will definitely use again.â

âThis was my first time ever boarding my cats, and Iâm very grateful for the top-notch care that Taylor gave- not just for my cats, but for me as an anxious pet momma. Taylor sent me pictures every day (something that she offered to help make me comfortable) of how the two were doing, and let me know about any questions or concerns. I will be booking her again for the holiday season and any boarding-needed occasion in the future; she really is the best when it comes to watching fur babies of all kinds đ¤â

âJust perfect. Michelle has a lovely home with a nice park and lake area in the backyard for the dogs to enjoy. Very safe area well away from roads. Michelle communicated very well, sent photos and updates, and was completely flexible with drop off and pickup times. Someone was home with my pup all the time and Zoey really seemed to love her stay with Michelle. Highly recommended.â

Ms. Dana is the sweetest âDoggy Hotelâ hostess!! She was very thorough about what we can expect during Deeboâs stay and asked questions to know Deebo better. I enjoyed receiving multiple daily updates about Deebo while he was there over a long weekend. Ms. Dana is kind and showed a ton of affection toward our dog, and made me feel comfortable leaving him in her care. She even had no issues giving him his medicine to calm his nerves. I will rebook with Ms. Dana again and again.

Erica was so great, Iâm solo pet owner and had plans at the last minute, she was so great with Marvel on first visit and my accommodation for extra day. He is smaller so he takes a few minutes to observe before playing with big dogs, but once he gets started he loves play dates all sizes

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Roverâs reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
