“Tatiana was great with our animals and house. She was comfortable with our shy dog and gave her the encouragement and space to feel safe with her, and provided us many updates while we were gone.”

“Alexus was so sensitive to our nervous pup, Rusty’s needs! He’s new to us and was anxious about us going out; he apparently was jumping up thinking we were home every time the heat came on, so she turned down the temperature so he could be more relaxed. Thank you so much, Alexis!”

“Reggie was fantastic! We have three dogs, including a very energetic and somewhat "naughty" 7 month-old puppy. Reggie took great care of all of them and dealt with puppy issues. She kept me very updated throughout the stay and included pictures of the pups, which was great. I will definitely be calling on her again in the future.”

“Kamari was wonderful! She kept regular communication with us and she sent pictures every day to let us know that our fur babies were well taken care of. We definitely recommend using her to watch after your fur babies as well.”

“As always, Ava takes great care of my Tallulah & Dennis. Always prompt and arrives when she says. I’m so appreciative of the great care she gives my 2. Especially my Dennis who doesn’t really like anyone but me. She provides regular updates and communicates often. I’m so appreciative and grateful. She is a blessing.”

“Vincent is the absolute best. He is calm, cool, collected and caring. He was flexible with my changing schedule (a few times), and was kind and understanding. He asked great questions about the dog (Skipper), beforehand. He sent me updates each day, and even came up with ideas for how to better get Skipper to take his medicine. I feel so comfortable and happy knowing Vincent was watching my dog (and my house). He is excellent, trustworthy and an all-around cool dude. I can't recommend him highly enough.”

“What an absolute fantastic experience . . . SO QUALIFIED! SO COMMUNICATIVE! SO GOOD! . . . I am 100% going to be booking Janelle again, and again, and again . . . If I can! She is the best!”

“Colby was an excellent pet sitter! Enjoyable to meet, thoughtful, attentive, responsible. Very sweet with my animals. Sent regular photos and updates and was available for an extra night when I had a flight issue. I highly recommend Colby!”

“Brooke was exceptional! She went out of her way to ensure our two tabby cats were well looked after, tending to each of their specialized needs. We came home to two very happy kitties thanks to her loving care.”

“Juan was great! He came to my house last minute while my husband was in the hospital and stayed with Bacon for us. He took great care of our baby. He actually had him come back the next day to help again.”

“We had a last minute trip during a difficult time, and Aarti really set my mind at ease from our first meeting to coming home to happy, healthy pets and a clean home. Our husky is a bit difficult and definitely gets upset when we leave him, but Aarti made friends with him and even managed to brush him! We would not hesitate to book her again!”
“Very communicative and easy to get ahold of. They were able to extend out stay last minute due to a funeral, which we (and the dogs!) really appreciated. House looks great on return and dogs are well cared for. Our go-to family for dog sitting.”

“Amber did such a great job! She was early, great at communicating, incredibly respectful of our home and took great care of our girls. I’ve had some really bad experiences and I can honestly say I was relaxed during our trip and not nervous about how our first experience would turn out because of her excellent communication. We can finally go on vacation without worrying!”

“Greg spent three weeks at our house looking after our beautiful dog Misty. Greg was wonderful, he cherished and cared for Misty as if she were his own. He also looked after the house, and kept us informed with pictures, videos, and texts, we have no complaints. I highly recommend Greg; you will not be disappointed.”

About: As a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, I understand that every pet deserves patience, compassion, and personalized attention. In addition to caring for my own pets, I volunteer and foster with animal welfare organizations, giving me experience working with animals of different ages, personalities, and special needs. I am dependable, attentive, and committed to providing a safe, loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in caring and capable hands. I work Mon-Fri however I have a pretty flexible schedule. I can visit and feed in the mornings and am usually off work by 3pm or 4pm which give me plenty of time to walk feed and spend time with your furry friends. I care for every pet as though they are a member of my own family. My own pets receive daily love, attention, enrichment, fresh food and water, regular exercise, and a consistent routine that helps them feel safe and happy. I pay close attention to their behavior and health so I can quickly notice if something seems out of the ordinary. When caring for someone else’s pet, I follow their routine as closely as possible because I know consistency helps pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I take the time to understand each pet’s unique personality, respecting their boundaries while giving them the affection, playtime, exercise, or quiet companionship they need. Whether it’s administering medications, keeping litter boxes and living spaces clean, providing walks, or simply spending quality time together, my goal is to ensure every pet feels loved, safe, and well cared for until their family returns.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for the last 7 years. I love house sitting and spending time cuddling with pups or playing outside with them. I have experience giving elder dogs medications or following detailed care instructions. I have a full-time job and work in the office Monday through Thursday. Otherwise, I’m available to be with your pup at home taking care of them. I’m familiar with crate training, as I crate my own dogs when I’m gone. I’m always happy to a walk through of how to lock things up and set up things to keep your fur babies safe. For walking, I’ve used harnesses and gentle leads.

About: I’ve been trusted to care for elderly dogs that need medication, to the littles still in potty training. I will follow whatever instructions are left to give the best care. Even if your baby needs their food “cooked” on the stove or need to be tucked in for a story. I’ve raised two dogs of my own and one cat, all who love to play. Ex-teacher on summer break so my schedule is open. I will be starting school in the fall so scheduling will change but I can easily be flexible and respond quickly. I can accommodate crating, open, yards, going for walks, etc. I aim to give your pet consistency so they are safe and comfortable when in my care.

About: I grew up with dogs and have cared for them professionally for over five years through pet sitting, dog walking, veterinary hospitals, and boarding/daycare. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels, including seniors, puppies, and those requiring medication. I’m comfortable with drop-in visits, walks, feeding routines, playtime, and overnight care, and I always focus on keeping each dog safe while maintaining the routine they’re used to at home. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel comfortable while their family is away. Pet care is my full-time focus, which allows me to provide flexible availability for my clients. My schedule is built around the pets in my care, and I carefully plan each day to ensure every visit receives the time and attention it deserves. Whether it’s morning, midday, evening, or weekend care, I strive to provide reliable, consistent service while maintaining each pet’s normal routine. My priority is always making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own environment. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and household routines, and I pay close attention to any changes in behavior or health. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, clean up after pets, and leave clients’ homes as I found them. I also provide regular photo updates and communication so owners have peace of mind while they’re away. My goal is to treat every pet with patience, compassion, and the same level of care I would want for my own.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Valley
Tatiana was an amazing sitter for my three pups! She was super easy to communicate with and was able to come meet me and the dogs and check out our home. She appreciated the house and dog notes I left and followed them perfectly! My dogs quickly fell in love with her and miss her already! I’m so happy we found her.

Regina did an excellent job caring for my dog and my house. My dog was so well adjusted by the time I got home, and I could tell that she really took care of him. She also took care of some plants that needed watering as well. She is a good communicator and follows through just as she says she will. I will definitely hire Reggie again.

Regina did a fantastic job taking care of my babies. I received daily updates with pictures of the cats. She was on top of everthing that needed to be done. One of my cats need medication 3 times a day. Regina didn't miss a beat. She adminstered the pill with no problem. She did have a difficulty on one occasion. I told here if she misses one medication the world would not end. It meant a lot to me that she let me know. Overall Regina did an amazing job. I would absolutely provide a good review should someone show interest in having Regina pet sit.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
