Far and away a better experience than the first go on Rover. She kept us informed with text updates and pictures of the doggos. Sweet hounds and plenty of space to roam. Your dogs are safe in her hands!

Cindy was great with my 2 year old baby. I sent Sandia for my 12 hour shifts and Cindy was flexible with pick up and drop off times. I got lots of picture updates. Sandia loved playing in the backyard with Cindy’s other dogs. She was so at ease during drop-offs, giving me peace of mind that she felt safe in Cindy’s home. Thanks again :)

About: Hello! I’m Marcella A and I’m currently going to cnm, majoring in veterinary medicine. My passion is to be a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves. This volunteer work at my job shadow (on resume) has given me hands-on experience handling different animal breeds and understanding the deep emotional bond between pets and their owners. I observed a cat surgery, the importance of aftercare and recovery. I’ve studied a Certified Veterinary Technologies performing a venipuncture safely. Growing up I had a lot of animals ranging from snakes, gerbils, hamsters, birds to cats and dogs. In a sense it taught me a lot of responsibility at a young age. I’ve had years of experience understanding the right diet/nutrition, structured hygienic health, behavioral patterns/management and medication needed for fuzzy friends! Currently I have OPEN availability! No furry companion is too big or too small to provide dietary/nutritional feeding times, potty breaks, midday check-ins, local dog walks, structured hygiene, health tracking & emergency preparedness! I am confident in my ability to provide exceptional care to beloved fuzzy friends from the moment they walk through the doors! I provide services to lovely pet owners to support in detailed instructions/expectations that I compile to! Includes but not limited to: fun playtime(indoor/outdoor) dietary, daily water intake, potty habits, long walks, & precise medication intakes!!

James and Leslie are great. I’ve been leaving my newly adopted dog with them once a week and he’s become calm around other dogs and people. He’s also playing well with other dogs and comes home tired and happy. Very glad I found them!

Josie, her husband, and Paco took great care of my Pip while we were vacationing in ABQ. Having Pip go over to her house allowed us to get some hikes, bike rides, and brunches in without having to worry is our young, energetic dog was being destructive or bored at the Airbnb. Highly recommend, and will definitely request Josie again when we return.

Toast had the best day at daycare with Kathy and the crew! She took the time to make my slow to warm up pup feel right at home. I really appreciated the pupdates thought out the day and the fact she got to go out on a hike (a favorite activity of hers). Would definitely recommend and Toast can’t wait for her next adventure day!

I met Elaine and her doggies about a year ago. My dogs finally stayed at her house for four nights last month, and then for one day last week. My dogs had already met her dogs a year ago, and when they met up again, they were like old pals. No growling or hassling. It was perfect! I got daily updates and pictures from Elaine. It was so comforting! And my dogs did great at her house and with her dogs, and it was just the best! I booked a full-day stay last week, and they were literally going INSANE when we were driving into her neighborhood. That tells me a lot about their experience there! They love going to Elaine's house! Our next booking is during the Christmas-New Year's Eve time frame, and my dogs are already so excited, and Elaine has let me know that so is she, and she's gearing her doggies up for a week-long visit :-) My neighbors/friends that used to keep them all the time are moving back to NJ, so this is exactly what I needed at this time in my life. I feel completely comfortable leaving my dogs at Elaine's, whether it's for a day or a week! This is the best thing EVER!!!!

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. As the founder of a nonprofit rescue, I’ve worked with everything from energetic puppies to introverted senior cats, and I truly believe every animal deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood. I specialize in shy, quirky, or high-needs pets—those who might take a little extra patience (and maybe a snack bribe or two) to warm up. The photos you see here? They’re a mix of foster pets, my personal pets, and beloved dog-sitting clients. If your pet has ever been described as “a little dramatic,” “selectively friendly,” or “too smart for their own good,” we’ll get along just fine. My approach is gentle, flexible, and grounded in experience—and lots of treats. I tailor my care to each pet’s needs and personality, whether they’re a wild child or a cuddle bug. My goal is for your furry family member to feel right at home—even when they’re not. Someone is home most of the day, so your pets will have plenty of companionship. We’re only ever away for a max of four hours at a time—perfect for pets who need extra snuggles or supervision. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly dogs who love making new pals. I can easily crate your pup if needed or keep them separated if they prefer their own space. My home is pet-proofed, cozy, and always full of love (and treats).

Oh how grateful we are to Jody's excellent and sensitive care and support! Our pup had started to have so much anxiety and we were feeling desperate about what to do! Jody is sweet, attentive and caring. You know you've found the right person when your dog runs up to greet her and is so happy to be with her. Jody is the one!

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

Kimberly was easy to book a Meet and Greet and also my Doggy Day Care. Going back to the office more, I felt bad leaving Sadie home all day by herself, so I figured a play day every now and then help. But I was worried, because Sadie has lots of energy and just wants to play when she's with other dogs. Kimberly made me feel very comfortable letting Sadie stay with her. My Sadie must have played hard with her Ridgebacks because she was exhausted when I got her home. She only got up to eat and back to sleep. Haha. Just what I wanted. Kimberly even gave her a homemade doggie popsicle, which she seemed to love. I would definitely book again. Thanks Kimberly!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in South Valley on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 249 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across South Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South Valley commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 249 sitters in South Valley, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
