This is our second time using Alexus and she did not disappoint, yet again! She’s so diligent and attentive to our pups every need and more. She goes above and beyond to make sure our dogs don’t even miss us while we are away! She stays on schedule so they don’t feel a change in routine. We are so grateful for her! She is the best and I highly recommend her for loving your fur babies while away. Thank you million’s Alexus!

About: I have grown up with big dogs since I was little as well as 2 cats! I’ve been with huskies and pomskies as well as labradors and shepherd dogs! I can take care of high energy and low energy dogs! I love cats as well! I know their temperament and how to approach them! My friends have had pit bulls which I do not discriminate against! I have helped with raising puppies and taking care of sick dogs, I promise to treat your pet with the utmost respect and care as if they were my own child! I am working part time at Starbucks and I work on Wednesday’s Thursday's and Sunday's, other than that I have morning classing Monday-Friday and I am good! I do online school so my schedule is very flexible for leaving in the mornings, and sometimes afternoons! At my home we have a big back yard and it is fenced in, we let our animals inside the house as well as outside, I don’t do pet care in my home because we have 4 big dogs and two cats and that would just be stressful on our dogs and cats as well as the dogs or cats I’m taking care of!

Kamari was great! she sent us pictures of the animals and gave us updates on how they were doing. The house looked great when we got home, and she even watered some plants for us! Kamari was a fast communicator so we felt safe leaving our large dog and our cat in her care. We would use her services again!

Our 14YO female heeler bonded immediately with Aarti and she was probably sad when we returned. I like Aarti because she returns texts and requests in a very timely manner. We got photos from her every day which helped to ease any anxiety we had about using a new dog sitter. Her background as a vet assistant also eased our minds with our dog's history of Cushings disease. We travel a fair amount and are looking to have Aarti care for our girl in the future. Five stars for sure.

Very communicative and easy to get ahold of. They were able to extend out stay last minute due to a funeral, which we (and the dogs!) really appreciated. House looks great on return and dogs are well cared for. Our go-to family for dog sitting.

About: I have professional experience caring for dogs and cats from my time as an Animal Handler at an animal shelter. I’m skilled in feeding, walking, enrichment, and recognizing animal behavior, and I’m passionate about providing safe, loving, and dependable care. I treat every pet like family and always prioritize their comfort and well-being. With a part-time work schedule, I have the availability and flexibility to prioritize pet care in my daily routine. This allows me to be attentive to pets’ needs, maintain routines, and provide dependable care and companionship. Safety, trust, and a comfortable environment are very important to me when caring for pets. With animal handling training from working at an animal shelter, I’m skilled at reading body language and recognizing stress or behavioral cues. I take a calm, patient approach to help pets feel safe, build trust, and maintain a clean, positive environment where they can relax and feel cared for.

About: As a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, I understand that every pet deserves patience, compassion, and personalized attention. In addition to caring for my own pets, I volunteer and foster with animal welfare organizations, giving me experience working with animals of different ages, personalities, and special needs. I am dependable, attentive, and committed to providing a safe, loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in caring and capable hands. I work Mon-Fri however I have a pretty flexible schedule. I can visit and feed in the mornings and am usually off work by 3pm or 4pm which give me plenty of time to walk feed and spend time with your furry friends. I care for every pet as though they are a member of my own family. My own pets receive daily love, attention, enrichment, fresh food and water, regular exercise, and a consistent routine that helps them feel safe and happy. I pay close attention to their behavior and health so I can quickly notice if something seems out of the ordinary. When caring for someone else’s pet, I follow their routine as closely as possible because I know consistency helps pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I take the time to understand each pet’s unique personality, respecting their boundaries while giving them the affection, playtime, exercise, or quiet companionship they need. Whether it’s administering medications, keeping litter boxes and living spaces clean, providing walks, or simply spending quality time together, my goal is to ensure every pet feels loved, safe, and well cared for until their family returns.

About: I have owned diabetic dogs and one with epilepsy. Friends and coworkers always ask me to watch their furbabies because they know how good my husband and I are with our own. They trust us and coming from someone who rarely traveled and when I did I took them with me because I don't trust others would take care of them like I do. I understand the anxiety that comes with having to leave them behind for whatever reason. Knowing they will be loved and have fun makes it that much easier for both you and your pet. Safety and security are also most important to us so rest assured they will be okay. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband's business is from home so we are both always here. We never leave for more that 3 hours due to our 2 dogs. I have a fenced yard with lots of room to run around. My brother also lives across from me and has over an acre of running room as well if needed. My husband and I work from home and are always available. We used to have dogs with medical issues and couldn't really leave them with anyone. My husband and I love animals and know how hard it is to leave them anywhere. Even at petsmart hotel they stay inside a small area and the play area isn't that big. We work from home and are never away longer than 4 hours. We have a 2 year old who is really good with the dogs as well but Rest assured we never let her play with them unattended. We have a large yard for dogs and know that they will be taken care of and loved while visiting us. All pets need love and attention. Even pet hotels leave them alone overnight and the thought of them having to hold it or use it in their space to feel ashamed is aweful. With us you get peace of mind and that's priceless In my home they will be treated like our own. They can play outside as long as they want. They scratch on the door ahead. They want in or out. They sleep inside on our bed with us of course. We want them to sleep wherever they feel comfortable. My dog buddy sleeps in his cage when he stays with others because he feels safe there so we understand everyone is different.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for the last 7 years. I love house sitting and spending time cuddling with pups or playing outside with them. I have experience giving elder dogs medications or following detailed care instructions. I have a full-time job and work in the office Monday through Thursday. Otherwise, I’m available to be with your pup at home taking care of them. I’m familiar with crate training, as I crate my own dogs when I’m gone. I’m always happy to a walk through of how to lock things up and set up things to keep your fur babies safe. For walking, I’ve used harnesses and gentle leads.

FAQs for House Sitting - Chical

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 628 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chical. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chical walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chical maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chical choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chical. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
