“Lauren was a delight! She watched our 2 dogs and 1 cat for 2 weeks while we were away! She took care of all our animals very well ell and sent many pictures each day. She was accommodating to the doggies routine and even extended watching the animals on short notice when our flight home got delayed. Will definitely reach out when we need pet sitting again.”

About: I absolutely love dogs, and will treat your baby like mine. I got into this because finding good care for my dog is such a stressful experience as my tolerance for risk is extremely low. I am a nervous dog mom and will care for your pets like they are my own, they will be safe and secure with me and you will get as many updates as you would like. I’m available for boarding on the weekends as well as from Tuesday- Wednesday night. I work in ABQ as well so if you need someone to stay at your house during the week while you are on vacation I am happy to do that as well. In clients home I want to make sure I have a good understanding of their routine and behavior. Having a high level overview of your dog will help me care for them. A former roommates dog had a thing for people on skateboards so when we were on walks, I knew I needed to hold him tight as they were passing. Understanding your dogs quirks will help me care for them.
“Karlie is an outstanding house and pet sitter. Professional, friendly, and communicative . My dogs were well adjusted after 7 days and my home was in excellent condition. Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve raised my 2 senior dogs from puppies. My family has relied on me to watch their fury babies. Where I provide walking, play time, feeding, bathing, and tons of love. I currently work 3 days a week Sunday,Monday, and Tuesday graveyard shifts in an elderly community. I’m available every morning and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. I have a fenced yard, two fury Chihuahua friends to keep your loved ones company. Who are potty trained and crated trained with feeding schedules.

“My two boys (a golden retriever and a goldendoodle) seemed to love their time with Brooke. She sent daily pictures and walked the dogs frequently while keeping the house in great shape. Highly recommend her.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give Mara ten stars, I wouldn’t hesitate. Mara spent an entire in-home week, here. We, my family, have not gone on a vacation in years. We live in the country with 4 dogs, 4 parrots, a group of parrotlets, an old german owl pigeon named Hootie, 2 Sulcata tortoises, 3 aquariums, 1 Honey bunny, & a small flock of free range bantam chickens. I explained all of this to Mara prior to our meet and greet & gave her every opportunity to “run for the hills,” so to speak. To my surprise, she wanted to meet with me. Mara was more than willing to put in the extended period of time needed for our meet and greet. She welcomed the learning experience & embraced the challenges of what it takes to care for our multi species family. I was particularly concerned in regards to our parrots (Eclectus, African Grey, Dusky Pionus & Blue Crown Conure). I was worried Mara would find them intimidating. I was worried about her level of confidence, handling them & meeting their emotional needs in our absence. I had nothing to worry about. Mara asked tons of questions, and I watched her interact with them. With her positive energy, they accepted her almost immediately. And, with all of the feeding, I did my part to help set her up for success. Our dogs absolutely adored her & Mara adored them. She let them sleep with her like we do! She spent time with all of our companions. Throughout the week, she sent pictures that reassured me it was ok to have fun void of home worries. Mara has such a great disposition & attitude. She’s so positive and upbeat. Because of her, I DID enjoy a week off. She did such a great job for all of our companions. And, she kept up with the house & kept it clean. I cant imagine ever hiring anyone else to care for our large crew. I would highly, highly recommend Mara to anyone. She takes pride in her work & in the happiness and wellbeing of those left in her care. I am grateful beyond words. Thank you so so much for all of your above and beyond Mara!”
“Juan did a great job with our boy. We got updates and pictures and he was very responsive to any messages we sent while we were away. Took great care of the house as well!”

“I've had some previous issues and concerns with house sitters, and let me tell you, Colleen completely restored my faith in people. She was very polite and attentive during our initial meeting, and truly showed her passion for pets. During the stay, she kept me posted with timely updates proactively, to ease my mind before I even needed to check-in. Upon my return, I found a spotless house (really, she left it better than I had left it for her), and most importantly, a super happy pup. I won't hesitate to have her over again, and you shouldn't either!”

“Abigail is the best! We’ve had her stay at our house with our dogs a few times now. She’s always quick to respond, asks the right questions, is a courteous house guest, and most importantly gets along splendidly with our dogs! We highly recommend Abigail.”

“Paloma was so wonderful - my cat loved her! Our cat is a bit high maintenance and needs a lot of attention, sometimes acts out, and is happiest when the sitter can stay at our place with her. Paloma was so attentive and really met all of her needs. She sent updates with photos and made us feel so at ease that our cat and our home were in good hands. Came home to a happy cat and clean house. Would recommend Paloma highly to anyone!”

“Brianna is the best! I immediately felt her sweet and warm energy and so did my dog. My dog loved her as soon as they met and had an amazing time with her. Brianna was excellent with her communication, she provided lots of photos and updates and I felt so comfortable knowing my dog was being attended to with love and care.”

“Mariah was amazing! Lots of communication and pictures. Kept the dogs and chicks well watered, fed and happy. Took amazing care of the house while staying here in our home. We will use her always if we can! Highly recommend Mariah! We love her and so did our pets❤️”

“Grace is the simply the best! I completely trusted her with our dog Millie, which is HUGE! Grace had great communication with me, I got daily updates and I even came home to printed out pictures of Millie. I didn't worry once about how well millie was being taken care of which was such a relief. 100% recommended Grace”

“Savanah was great. She was super attentive to my dogs. She took them on a few walks, played with them, damn just was a great companion. My dogs loved having her around. Excellent communication, sent daily updates and kept me informed of how the dogs were doing. I came home to happy dogs and a clean house. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“We don’t know what we would do without Haley! Absolute wonderful human being and gives all our fur and feather babies the best of care! We have entrusted our dogs and cats with Haley for some time, but this is the first time we were going to be gone full day so we entrusted her with our ducks as well as we came home late to find all our babies happy sleepy from a long day and ducks tucked away for bed. She always goes above and beyond and even with helicopter fur parents she is quick with her texts and reassurances.10/10 would not entrust my babies to anyone else but her.”

“Bri is amazing! She watched pup for a little over a week and provided lots of updates and pictures. Came home to a clean house and a happy dog. Will definitely use her services in the future. Highly recommend!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Los Chavez walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Los Chavez maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Los Chavez choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
