12. Lauren A.

About: I seem to be a magnet for anxious dogs and cats! Both my senior cat and adolescent dog have behavioral issues/anxiety, and while it has its challenges, I find bonding with these guys can be the most rewarding experience. Between slow, gentle movements, not rushing a bond, and having lots of treats on hand, I've learned that "difficult" personalities don't always have to be so hard. I work 8-5 on weekdays, with Mondays and Fridays being working-from-home days. I can easily incorporate lunch-time and evening visits into my schedule during the week with open availability on weekends. After adopting an anxious/reactive dog, my partner and I have invested countless hours into a training program that works for us. Through this experience, I've learned the power of positive reinforcement, consent for touch, and patience even when it's the most difficult to find it. I'm a huge believer in redirecting unwanted behavior rather than punishment of any kind. Love and respect is the driving force behind all of my interactions with animals!

13. Molly H.
About: I've been training and taking care of dogs since I was 11 years old! I have housetrained, crate trained, taken Canine Good Citizen and other obedience classes, and done several years of agility training with my dogs. If you have an active dog, we can go running, hiking, or for long walks around the neighborhood. If you have a couch potato, we can lounge all day! I currently have a five year old Dalmatian mix, Izzi, who loves making new friends! She is very friendly and easygoing, and would love playing with your dog. Izzi comes with me to housesit, so your dog will have a playmate the whole time. I work remotely 2-3 days a week and am available most weekends! My remote schedule is fairly flexible, especially if coordinated in advance, so if you need weekday sitting we can probably work something out! While I don’t have a fenced in yard, Izzi and I go for several walks each day, so your dog will get lots of exercise! My own dog suffered from severe separation anxiety when I adopted her two years ago. We are also working to get over her fear of the car. I know what it's like to be trapped in your house with an anxious dog! If your dog can't be left alone (or is delicate in other ways), let me know and I can make sure to stay with them the entire time. I can work with you to make your dog's experience the best possible! Please tell me any special behavioral or medical needs that your dog has.

14. Katie S.

“Katie’s great! Punctual, reliable and sweet to our pup!”

15. Emma R.
“Emma has always loved pets and grew up with two dogs who she loved very much. Emma and I have been friends for a long time and I have always trusted her to watch my pets when I am out of town. Emma goes out of her way to make sure the animals around her are safe, she has reunited lost dogs with their owners on multiple occasions, staying with them and caring for them until their owners can retrieve them. I would recommend Emma to anyone who needs a pet caregiver, not only is she a trained nurse who can handle any situation, but she also has a soft spot for all animals.”

16. Faith K.
“Faith is excellent with my dog! Faith takes the time to play with my dog and walk her in new places. Faith is a perfect choice to walk your furry friend!”

17. Aaliyah C.
“Aaliyah loves animals as much as me we are always joking around with what animals we will be getting next. Aaliyah would be a great pet sitter:)”

18. Cristina M.

“Cristina is simply the best! My animals love her and she sends great photo updates. Thankful for someone that cares for my fur babies so well.”

19. Gretchen S.

“Gretchen has a real love that for animals which shows. She was flexible when I had plans change, and spent extra time with my pets, even showing extra concern for the security of my home. I’ll definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to take care of your family!”

20. Kayla K.
“Kayla is our go-to pet sitter in Grand Rapids! Kayla is responsible and reliable. We know our sometimes stubborn bulldog will be in great care every time we drop him off at Kayla's! Our dog loves hanging out with Kayla- whenever we say her name our dog gets super excited!”
