“Brian did a great job checking in on Mochi when I had to work all day. He took him for a walk and made sure he went potty. Gave Mochi lots of treats and attention! Thanks again ?”

“Jasmine is an awesome dog walker! She was very attentive and left some of the best notes I've ever had from a dog walker/sitter, which I really appreciated. She also used rover cards, which helps a ton, so I know where Moe walked and how far during the day. 10/10 will use again. I can also tell she has a lot of good experience working with animals. Thanks Jasmine!”

“My old pup can be anxious and ramped up with care givers so I am delighted that he was calm with Tyler. I will definitely have Tyler take care of my fur babe again knowing I can depend on him and will not be stressed while on vacation.”

“This was my first time having Colene come to visit and walk my sweet girl and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! She had excellent communication and showed my little Lula some love and attention while I had to be away for the day. Will be using again!!”

About: Having been surrounded by animals for the majority of my youth, I was gifted with a passion for creatures of all kinds. Early on, I was tasked with petsitting for family members. I have now started pet sitting for family friends, colleagues, and others. I am looking to expand my reach, looking for more opportunities to give my time to this passion. I am a college student studying Biology at GRCC. I have weekends and Fridays off. When I am not at school, my schedule is pretty flexible. After class, I have quite a bit of time, perfect for dog walks, check ins, or anything your pet may need! When house sitting, I do not mind staying over on weekdays. I will still have school, most classes being 3 hours long, with the exception of my Tuesday class which is 6hrs. If you have questions on when my classes get out, what my schedule may look like, or any thing else, please feel free to reach out! Safety and communication is number one for me. I have always made sure to keep a good connection with any pet owners I may be sitting/walking for. I have a good understanding on how an animal may react in stressful situations and how to de-escalate a situation. A pet’s safety and health is incredibly important to understand when working with animals.

“Katie is amazing! We are new to GR and were nervous about finding someone to walk our dog. Katie was incredible! She was 100% on time, she listened to what our dog needed (wanted to turn around early on their walk) and then spent the remainder of their time hanging out! I could not be more thankful to have someone like Katie!”

“I would highly recommend Maelee. She has walked Scout multiple times now and is always on time and a great communicator. Plus the cute pictures after the walk are always an added bonus 😊”

About: I have more than 10 years experience working at dog daycares, grooming, and sitting/walking dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I am comfortable with administering medication both orally and injections. I've I am always trying to educate myself and others about reading dog behaviors and the best ways to react to situations. I am an artist by trade so my work hours are very flexible. If I'm sitting in your home, I will stick to your pet's normal routine as closely as possible to give them a sense or normalcy and comfort. My more than 10 years of experience have prepared me for almost any situation. I am a big proponent of safety first especially when it comes to your pets interacting with other animals, escape artists, and counter surfers getting into harmful things.
“Kate was so lovely with me new rescue dog, he is adjusting to his new environment and Kate has been so helpful with that adjustment. Will definitely have Kate back!”

“Ricardo is amazing! First time using Rover and I absolutely picked the right person. He scheduled a meet-and-greet to introduce himself and get to know my dog. They were completely at ease with each other. Ricardo’s a proactive communicator, provided regular updates, and was always friendly and punctual. I highly recommend.”

“Alyssa was good with my dog. I especially appreciate her speed of replies when we communicated. She was very prompt. I can tell she is serious about being reliable and responsible. I’m happy to have found Alyssa in Rover!”

“I am a very over protective doggie mom. I met Claire and instantly liked her and so did my Daisy. She helped us out for a few days and I cannot tell you how pleased and grateful I am for hiring her. She is wonderful with dogs (and mine is strong and a bit wild). My dog LOVES her! I cannot recommend Claire enough! I wish this offered more than 5 stars!”

About: I first started caring for animals in elementary school through a vet camp at the West Michigan Humane Society, which I attended three different times. Since then, I’ve continued helping care for friends’ and family members’ pets. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I work part time and I’m a student but I usually have a pretty flexible schedule and can accommodate mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and even last-minute bookings. I always prioritize making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their normal environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and any instructions provided by owners. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs while keeping their space clean and secure.
“Tayler has been super helpful, was able to accomodate my 11th hour requests to check in on my dog, feed and walk him. My dog appears to have taken to her quite well.”

“Daniel is a very reliable and responsible dog walker. He has walked our two big Huskey-German Shepherds multiple times and we’ve always had great experiences. Each time the communication has been excellent and he always sends fantastic photos of our pups. We feel fortunate to be able to rely on Daniel, when we’re out of town.”

About: I seem to be a magnet for anxious dogs and cats! Both my senior cat and adolescent dog have behavioral issues/anxiety, and while it has its challenges, I find bonding with these guys can be the most rewarding experience. Between slow, gentle movements, not rushing a bond, and having lots of treats on hand, I've learned that "difficult" personalities don't always have to be so hard. I work 8-5 on weekdays, with Mondays and Fridays being working-from-home days. I can easily incorporate lunch-time and evening visits into my schedule during the week with open availability on weekends. After adopting an anxious/reactive dog, my partner and I have invested countless hours into a training program that works for us. Through this experience, I've learned the power of positive reinforcement, consent for touch, and patience even when it's the most difficult to find it. I'm a huge believer in redirecting unwanted behavior rather than punishment of any kind. Love and respect is the driving force behind all of my interactions with animals!
Oakdale dog parents share their Rover experiences
Sophia was so great with my 63lb Goldendoodle for multiple days of walks. He can be a strong puller on walks, and can get anxious in the neighborhood, especially in Fireworks season. Sophia was so great with him, gaining his trust and adjusting to his needs each walk. She was timely, remembered instructions, and things unique to my dog. We look forward to having her again.

Claire and Spatzle are slowly working on an introduction. He is a nervous and reactive boy so we are working our way to being able to do overnights and drop ins. Her vet med hx and experience with a reactive dog is SO helpful in knowing how to interact with him and it's going great so far.

Kasidee is fantastic! My dogs can be shy when walking with someone new but they warmed to her right away. She has a clear passion for animals and treating them with love and kindness. The photos and post walk updates were always great and adorable. Highly recommended!
