“I am very particular when it comes to my puppy baby and this was by far the BEST experience I have had using rover. Shelby sent me updates, pictures, and followed my pups schedule to a tee. I was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing my pup was well taken care of. Will definitely be using Shelby again.”

“Cayla was amazing with my Horde of three that count a stubborn Rhodesian and two Husky/Jack Russell mixes. They were so well cared for that they were happy to see me but fairly blase about me coming home. 🤣🤣”

“Sydney was absolutely great! She stayed with the pups for two nights and sent lots of pictures. She was eager to read all of my instructions and communicated well with any updates and questions. One of my pups has special requirements right now, due to a recent surgery, and Sydney was able to separate the needs of my dogs and treat them both so well! (separate walks, feeding attention etc) I am SO excited to make Sydney my regular pup sitter, and highly recommend her to any one looking for a fully attentive and communicative dog lover!”
“Justin was so professional and communicative. Our pets all have special needs above average, and he was attentive to those details and kept me updated on how the needs were handled without me having to ask. We will definitely be booking him again in the future!”

“Allie was fantastic. She took notes during our meet and greet, and was very communicative and sent tons of pictures during her stay. She was also very fast to respond and our dog absolutely loved her. Our pup is camera shy and it said a lot about Allie that our girl felt comfortable enough with her that Allie could get so many good pictures ? We knew our dog was in very good hands with Allie, we would use her again in a heartbeat. Thanks Allie!”

“Addie was fantastic. She stayed at my home for 15 days watching Freddie and Purrl, and honestly the communication alone made the whole trip stress-free. She sent regular updates and photos, so I never had to wonder how they were doing — I just knew. Came home to two happy, well-cared-for animals and a house left in great shape. Addie was respectful of my space the entire time, which matters a lot when someone's living in your home. Would book her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone who wants a sitter they can actually trust while they're away.”

“Cherish is exceptional. This was our first time using a service like this and leaving our two young, high energy cattle dog mixes with a sitter. Historically we do boarding with day care. Our dogs loved her. It was evident in the meet and greet and further emphasized in the numerous videos, pictures and updates we received throughout our six night vacation. The peace of mind versus boarding is unmatched. Charish is responsive, thoughtful and tidy. Our house looked better than we left it! We are thankful we have found her and would highly recommend to anyone nervous about leaving your pets. You get to enjoy your trip knowing your pups are being loved and having fun. 10/10.”

“Nicole took excellent care of my three dogs while I was away. She is very responsive, attentive, and easy to work with. I felt totally at ease leaving my dogs with her and hope to use her again. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Very pleased with Ryan once again he took stellar care of my Furry Kids! He sent pictures of them letting me know they were comfortable with him! All around great Vibe from Ryan, Ryan checked in with me making sure my travels brought me back on time before he departed! 100% positive will continue using Ryan!”

“Dana is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs, and was a treat to meet. I can tell she cares deeply about animals of all kinds and followed my instructions perfectly. She's my hero and a great person all the way around would definitely use her again!”

“This is our 2nd booking with Wanda, 2nd time with Rover as well. I was so hesitant to entrust our pups with a stranger but we were in a bind. I missed the review window for the 1st booking, so I just have to start there. Wanda accepted a meet and greet at a neutral location then a 2nd meet at our home. With us, the dogs, and her, all comfortable with each other, a booking was agreed upon. From that point on it's been so rewarding for not just our dogs, but for us. Wanda keeps us updated on everything, from how many walks a day, and even how many poops per walk. T.M.I. I know, but for those helicopter moms of us, she understands. Please reach out to Wanda if in need of a sitter. Oh, and did I mention, she was at the house for the entire duration of our first 5 night trip, and the 2nd, 3 day trip. Couldn't even tell she had been there but for the door camera. She even followed up after the fact, checking in on them. And could tell our babies didn't miss us as much, as when we got home, they were just like, 'What's up'... Give Wanda a try, you and your 'kids' will not be disappointed!”
“Bonnie was great to help us out with our 2 dogs over the holidays! She was easy to communicate with and took great care of our pups and home while we were gone. She sent the cutest picture updates and managed to handle our crazy Labrador that isn’t always the easiest!”
“Malinda was great! Kept me updated over the two weeks she watched them. My dogs were super happy and comfortable, including my youngest who can be a nervous with new people.”

“Rachel has done a phenomenal job at taking care of my dog. She was very communicative and went above and beyond. My dog is quite anxious especially around new people, I could tell how comfortable she made him. I highly recommend booking with her!”

“Courtney took wonderful care of our aged dog and our home during our vacation. Our dog's advanced age took special care and attention, and she worked with him, convinced him to eat, adjusted his diet as needed, gave him walks in the rain, and helped him deal with our absence. Many thanks to Courtney!”

“Toni was absolutely fantastic to work with and did an outstanding job caring for our pets. Communication was thorough and prompt at all times. Toni continuously went above and beyond to make sure Ari & Boss (and our home!) were all exceptionally well cared for. She even navigated an off-leash dog encounter and managed to keep all pets safe, like a total pro. We have full trust in Toni after this experience and will happily book her again whenever possible! Highly recommend!!”

“This was our first time using Abril and she did not disappoint. She sent us updates along with pictures and videos. Kingston was happy and his usual energetic self. Thank you Abril.”

Coleman is a phenomenal human. I was incredibly comfortable leaving my pets in their care. Very personable and a comfortable person to be around. I wasn't even concerned with checking in, Coleman has a very trusting energy. I got plenty of updates and everything was taken care and then some! Coleman is very helpful and capable of any task thrown their way, Thank you for being so awesome Coleman!

Katie was a fantastic sitter. She stayed in our home for a week with our dogs. She gave thorough updates and it was easy to tell she was keeping the dogs very active and happy. Katie clearly had an aptitude for animal care. We are very happy we are lucky enough to have found her!
Maria was the BEST. We have had many dogsitters over the years, and she was the best sitter we have ever had. We were going out of the country and on very different timezones, so we were very hopeful she was going to be really communicative. She knocked our expectations out of the park. She sent so many pictures (and as an aside should be a professional pet photographer - the photos were fantastic!), frequent updates, walked our boy a LOT (he thrives on exercise, so we really appreciated this more than we can say), and even took him to her own home during a tornado warning, so he was not here alone. We could not have asked for better care and communication. As an added bonus, Maria kept our house in lovely shape - everything was clean and organized when we returned. She even washed, dried, and remade the bed so that we had clean sheets when we arrived late at night, all without ever being asked!! I cannot recommend Maria enough!! She is so kind, caring, compassionate and overall lovely. We feel SO lucky she was able to sit for us. You will adore her and so will your pets!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Signal Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Signal Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Signal Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
