“This was my first time using an app to find someone to watch my furbaby and Dana definitely made me feel comfortable and relieved. We lucked out finding her! She’s got a calm demeanor which matched perfectly for my old girl. She sent me an update midday with a couple pictures that eased my anxiety. She was willing to work with me on the schedule when things changed on my end. And like other reviewers said she even tidied up a bit, which was completely unexpected and very kind. The best part is my pup really seemed comfortable with her from the beginning. Definitely look forward to rebooking with her in the future!”

“Cayla was the perfect sitter for my grumpy old man. He absolutely loved having her here and so did I. She gave him all of the attention and met his every need (and want). She sent me pictures every day of Smoke, and of the two of them interacting, and it made my vacation so much more relaxing. She knew exactly how to treat my almost 18 year old kitty and for that I am extremely grateful. I will definitely be calling her for my pet sitting needs in the future. If I could, I would have given her 10 stars.”

“I had a fantastic experience with Katie! She provided regular updates and took excellent care of my dog. Her attentiveness and dedication were evident, and I will definitely book with her again. Highly recommended!”

“Sofia was great! I got cute pics of my girls when I was away and knew I didn’t need to worry about them. She left my house as clean as I left it, which I was so grateful for! Will for sure book with her again”

About: Hey! I'm Darby, I have 6 years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. Pet sitting was the fist way I discovered I could make money when I was in middle school, and I still love it to this day! I have about 1.5 years of experience working as a trained veterinary technician. This means that I am comfortable working with special needs animals, providing special diets, and administering medication. I am also familiar working with animals that may be anxious. Right now, I'm studying animal biology at The University of Tennessee, working at an exotic animal clinic, and am starting to apply for veterinary school. Relevant Classes: Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Small Animal Veterinary Medicine I'm currently working part-time and taking college courses online. My best availability is all-day Friday-Sunday, but I can be flexible if I have a heads up! I like to make sure I have everything I need to know from a client before they leave so I don't have to bother them too much while they're away! This includes medication, feeding schedule, behavioral problems, and any space that may be off limits to myself and/or the pet. I'm no stranger to a mess, so no worries if your pet is prone to accidents.

About: I have copious experience caring with animals- anything from dogs and cats to rats and hamsters! Family and friends regularly trust me to care for their pets! I am very knowledgeable on different kinds of animal care, and I am excellent at keeping pet parents updated about their animals. :) I currently work part time! I am available all day on most any day I am off, usually weekdays. I am available after 5:15pm any day I work, usually on the weekends! I will do my best to help keep them to a routine that's comfortable for them! I am happy to walk them, play with them, feed them- anything! I have experience cleaning up after animals if something were to go wrong. I try to provide dogs plenty of time outdoors, or cats lots of enrichment!
“This is our 2nd booking with Wanda, 2nd time with Rover as well. I was so hesitant to entrust our pups with a stranger but we were in a bind. I missed the review window for the 1st booking, so I just have to start there. Wanda accepted a meet and greet at a neutral location then a 2nd meet at our home. With us, the dogs, and her, all comfortable with each other, a booking was agreed upon. From that point on it's been so rewarding for not just our dogs, but for us. Wanda keeps us updated on everything, from how many walks a day, and even how many poops per walk. T.M.I. I know, but for those helicopter moms of us, she understands. Please reach out to Wanda if in need of a sitter. Oh, and did I mention, she was at the house for the entire duration of our first 5 night trip, and the 2nd, 3 day trip. Couldn't even tell she had been there but for the door camera. She even followed up after the fact, checking in on them. And could tell our babies didn't miss us as much, as when we got home, they were just like, 'What's up'... Give Wanda a try, you and your 'kids' will not be disappointed!”
“Shelby did an exceptional job petsitting our two cats! Loved getting pictures too. They were totally relaxed and clearly had been brushed and very well cared for when we returned. Highly recommended!!”

“Justin was AMAZING. I could not recommend trusting him with your dog more. We were so hesitant about going on rover with our German Shepard that has anxiety but Justin sent so many photo updates and made us feel so relax. It was so refreshing being able to leave the house for the weekend and know he is going to be okay. Justin stayed at my house for the weekend and was so respectful and a great house guest. 1000/10 recommend him for your watching your dog.”

“Sydney was absolutely great! She stayed with the pups for two nights and sent lots of pictures. She was eager to read all of my instructions and communicated well with any updates and questions. One of my pups has special requirements right now, due to a recent surgery, and Sydney was able to separate the needs of my dogs and treat them both so well! (separate walks, feeding attention etc) I am SO excited to make Sydney my regular pup sitter, and highly recommend her to any one looking for a fully attentive and communicative dog lover!”
“Kiara did such an amazing job watching my pup! My pup is reactive and nervous around strangers and she followed all of my instruction on how to interact with him and everything went great!”

“Dominique was great! She responded quickly to my last minute request and took great care of my pup. This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how it turned out.”

“We were in need of a last minute house/pet sitter for graduation weekend. Drake was quick to respond with his availability. He even met us beforehand to ensure he was the right fit for our animals. Spoiler - he absolutely was! If you're looking for someone highly professional, calm, and patient with your animals - then hire Drake. He sent regular updates and gave our animals so much love in our absence. Thank you Drake!”

“Addie was fantastic. She stayed at my home for 15 days watching Freddie and Purrl, and honestly the communication alone made the whole trip stress-free. She sent regular updates and photos, so I never had to wonder how they were doing — I just knew. Came home to two happy, well-cared-for animals and a house left in great shape. Addie was respectful of my space the entire time, which matters a lot when someone's living in your home. Would book her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone who wants a sitter they can actually trust while they're away.”

“First time using Rover, but this was a wonderful experience for our senior girls. Kaitlynn helped us to have a stress free weekend by giving our girls lots of love and attention. She sent pictures too. We will be contacting her again. 🐶🐶”

“Huntter was AMAZING!! He was so thoughtful with each of our girls, giving all the attention my Jack Russell needed while also respecting the space of my shy Foxhound. By the end of the stay, both my girls were in love with him even getting the zoomies when he would return to the house. Thank you for making our girls feel safe and loved while we were away!”

“This was our first time using Abril and she did not disappoint. She sent us updates along with pictures and videos. Kingston was happy and his usual energetic self. Thank you Abril.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Signal Mountain
Katie was a fantastic sitter. She stayed in our home for a week with our dogs. She gave thorough updates and it was easy to tell she was keeping the dogs very active and happy. Katie clearly had an aptitude for animal care. We are very happy we are lucky enough to have found her!
Maria was the BEST. We have had many dogsitters over the years, and she was the best sitter we have ever had. We were going out of the country and on very different timezones, so we were very hopeful she was going to be really communicative. She knocked our expectations out of the park. She sent so many pictures (and as an aside should be a professional pet photographer - the photos were fantastic!), frequent updates, walked our boy a LOT (he thrives on exercise, so we really appreciated this more than we can say), and even took him to her own home during a tornado warning, so he was not here alone. We could not have asked for better care and communication. As an added bonus, Maria kept our house in lovely shape - everything was clean and organized when we returned. She even washed, dried, and remade the bed so that we had clean sheets when we arrived late at night, all without ever being asked!! I cannot recommend Maria enough!! She is so kind, caring, compassionate and overall lovely. We feel SO lucky she was able to sit for us. You will adore her and so will your pets!!

Sydney was a great pet/house-sitter and will definitely be hiring her again. She listened to all instructions and provided pictures of the animals and was very quick to answer the phone. Our house was left in perfect condition as well. Our pets are happy and healthy :)
After our meet and greet I knew it was going to be a perfect fit! Our dogs have a lot of energy and immediately fell in love with her. We were able to take a long, stress free vacation with complete confidence that our home and animals were well taken care of. She sent us lots of updates and went above and beyond our expectations. Will definitely be booking with her again for future needs as well as recommending her to anyone needing service! Thank you Kayla!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Signal Mountain on Rover is $44.67 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 492 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Signal Mountain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Signal Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Signal Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Signal Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Signal Mountain. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
