“JaNiya is a phenomenal housesitter, especially if you have shy animals (but *any* animal would love her!). We have two skittish greyhounds and a very shy adopted cat. Within one day, our cat was sitting in JaNiya’s lap, and our dogs were relaxed and happy. I couldn’t believe it! She has such a calm, tender presence, and you can tell she adores animals. She’s even studying to be a veterinarian! Do not pass her up! She’s the only housesitter we’ll use from now on!”

About: Hey! I'm Darby, I have 6 years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. Pet sitting was the fist way I discovered I could make money when I was in middle school, and I still love it to this day! I have about 1.5 years of experience working as a trained veterinary technician. This means that I am comfortable working with special needs animals, providing special diets, and administering medication. I am also familiar working with animals that may be anxious. Right now, I'm studying animal biology at The University of Tennessee, working at an exotic animal clinic, and am starting to apply for veterinary school. Relevant Classes: Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Small Animal Veterinary Medicine I'm currently working part-time and taking college courses online. My best availability is all-day Friday-Sunday, but I can be flexible if I have a heads up! I like to make sure I have everything I need to know from a client before they leave so I don't have to bother them too much while they're away! This includes medication, feeding schedule, behavioral problems, and any space that may be off limits to myself and/or the pet. I'm no stranger to a mess, so no worries if your pet is prone to accidents.

About: I’ve been a pet owner for about 7 years and have a lot of experience working with cats and dogs. I have mostly have experience with cat sitting, but have some experience with small to medium size dogs. I am comfortable with feeding routines, litter box maintenance, walking or outside time for dogs, and spending quality time with each animal I sit for. I am currently only working part time so I have flexibility to spend more time with your pets! While I am not able to stay overnight, I can make frequent visits if needed and will prioritize the time schedule set for your pets to keep them on their routine! I want to make your pets as comfortable as possible while you are away and truly believe that keeping pets in their home environment helps them adapt to temporary changes. I do my best to gain trust with new animals through slow and gentle movements and tone of voice, and I am patient in letting your pets warm up to me.

“Justin has cared for my great dane & lab many times over the last few months. We normally travel at least once long weekend a month, sometimes more. His time with my dogs has improved my life and more specifically, my great danes life, immensely. I realize that may seem like a strange statement for a pet sitter, but let me explain. Kane, the Dane, had turned from a well socialized dog to a very reactive dog through Covid. I had done so many things to try to prevent this from ever appearing, and was a bit overwhelmed to find myself with 165 pound unpredictable, but beautiful animal. With a lot of training and work, I finally got to a place where I could walk him down the street without a muzzle on again. Huge moment for us. I really thought the days of taking him with me to public dog friendly locations was over. And it’s saddened me because I wanted a dog that would be part of my everyday life, not one stuck at the house with an occasional walk. Then Justin entered the scene. With my permission, Justin spent a lot of time not only caring for their basic needs, but socializing them. During this last booking, Justin was even able to take Kane to a local pet friendly establishment, and they both had a great experience. My phone was flooded with pictures and videos of Kane enjoying being part of the world. It was incredible to see that dog again, because it’s been years. I had honestly tried to set that dream aside, thinking it was forever out of reach. A few days after I returned home, Justin went even further above and beyond. He met me and Kane at that same dog friendly location to help give me confidence and support should anything go awry. I got a first row seat to watch my dog be adored on by stranger after stranger. We even had a few nose stiff with the other dogs with no incident. It’s hard to put into words when you thought something you hoped and dreamed for was gone forever, and then it emerges from the most unexpected places. I know to many pet owners this may sound like an overly dramatized story. But to those who have challenges with reactive dogs, you know just how life changing it is. Thank you, Justin. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to you.”

I am very knowledgeable on different kinds of animal care, and I am excellent at keeping pet parents updated about their animals. :) I currently work part time! I am available all day on most any day I am off, usually weekdays. I am available after 5:15pm any day I work, usually on the weekends! I will do my best to help keep them to a routine that's comfortable for them! I am happy to walk them, play with them, feed them- anything! I have experience cleaning up after animals if something were to go wrong. I try to provide dogs plenty of time outdoors, or cats lots of enrichment!

I can take your pet on walks, give lots of love and snuggles, and take care of your house as needed. No pet is too big or too small for me! I work Mon-Fri in downtown Chattanooga, but I am able to take an hour lunch break at any time to take pets on walks/feed etc. My house is pet free, and I have a fenced in back yard for your pet to run around and play in! I feel comfortable staying in your home as well and have provided that service for many years.
