About: Dogs have been my life for as long as I can remember—legend says my first word was “doggy.” I’m currently training to become a dog groomer and hope to one day open my own 501(c) rescue. I have two fur babies at home, including a 130 lb Rottweiler and a special needs Westie-Poodle mix, so I’m very comfortable with both large breeds and extra care needs. I’m currently becoming a dog groomer and have always been fully in my animal era—caring for pets is just part of my daily life. For dog walking, I make sure each dog gets safe, attentive exercise tailored to their energy level, including proper leash handling, hydration, and cleanup. I also check for any behavioral changes and communicate updates to the owner after each walk. For cat sitting, I follow the cat’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning the litter box, and providing playtime or companionship based on their desires. About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little and have loved every minute of it! Walking, feeding, bathing, giving medications, and providing additional support for solidifying training have all been things friends and family have depended on me doing for their fur babies when they want me to pet sit for them. Most importantly, however, is making sure their dogs are having a great time being played with and loved on while their humans are doing their own thing. I’m currently a full time student with only one class being in-person, so I’m home most of the time and am able to take care of and play with your pups! I can board reliably on both weekdays and weekends excluding Thursdays. My home does not have a fenced in yard, so when I take your pups out for a walk I’ll be going around the neighborhood and to the park. I allow pets on the furniture and the bed, but if you don’t at your home then I will make sure to discourage them from hopping up on the furniture here as well.
“Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old, and I'm a recent cat mom of a little under a year. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, too. We are so grateful to Anna who took care of our older cat. Usually family watches her, but she was recently started on medications and it was too much. Anna was willing to help very last minute and came over multiple times to meet her and learn her medication schedule and administration.
