“Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. I currently work part-time and go to college locally, so I have four days a week when I'm free to spend as much time with your pets as they need! I can definitely be flexible with scheduling, just send me the details :) I can put out food and water and clean litter boxes as well as basic grooming such as gentle brushing etc. If your cat has any specific dietary needs I can make sure those are accommodated as I take that seriously due to personal experience.

About: I’m a 22 year old college graduate looking to fulfill her hopes of pet setting once again! Being a full time student meant busy weeks, leaving no time for pet care. Something I actively did before transferring to UCSC. But with this newfound, post-graduate freedom, I’m eager to get back into the gig. All of which have been dog sitting gigs, with one job including an additional 3 cats (if that makes sense haha). And in my time as a sitter I’ve had four consistent clients. About: There hasnt been a time in my life where I havent been around dogs or any animals! I am good at training dogs as well as taking them on walks all around. I love taking dogs on hikes to the beach or river or any place I know they would love! I currently live at home as I am in between my graduation and starting my second degree! About: I have had experience with feeding my friends and neighbors cats when they were away on vacation, but nothing professional. I do not have any training skills, but have dealt with temperamental cats who do not like sharing their space. I have had dogs and cats in my family since I was a child. We had small dogs as well as medium/large dogs and cats. I currently have 2 cats at home! I work full time Monday - Friday so this would be causal meetings and walks. I can feed them dinner or hang with them on week nights. That could be playing with them at their home, taking them to a dog park, or taking them for a walk. My weekends are wide open and I can hang out with your little dude whenever you need :). Unless otherwise specified in my schedule! I live in a one bedroom apartment that is quite spacious with a patio. There are cat toys and scratch posts everywhere. The patio is a catio, which is equipped with cat towers and cat grass. I play fetch with my tempermental boy because it gets his energy out very quickly and he LOVES it. My girly girl is very easy and plays with almost anything. I am more than happy to play with your kitty however they would like. For dogs, I will hang out and play with them at their house or take them to a dog park to get fresh air and more room to run. Fetch is a favorite as well as tug of war! I can take them on long walks around the neighborhood or the beach if the owner is ok with that!
