“Rena helped me out last minute when I needed a walker after a family emergency. She was quickly responsive and able to pick up the shift and I couldn’t have been more grateful!”

About: I'm a current college student at Harper College looking to go into Veterinary Medicine. I've had some prior experience at Ness Exotic Vet Clinic as a Veterinary Intern. I've also worked as a dog breeder assistant and kennel tech helping to maintain kennels and provide daily care for the dogs. Most importantly, I love working with animals of all kinds and caring for them. I’m currently working part-time so I’ll have plenty of time to spend with your furry companions! I am available Monday-Thursday anytime after 12pm. Fridays I’m free pretty much all day! I’m also available on the weekends to do drop in visits. I have plenty of experience with handling, walking, playing, and cleaning. Depending on what you and your pet need, I can offer different services to help make your life a little easier.

About: I have been taking care of dogs ranging from a few lbs to 100+ lbs for years! I have also been caring for different types of cats just as long :) Growing up we always had a dog in the house, so that has made me super comfortable to be around them. Whether I’m walking, feeding, cleaning, or administering medication, I am definitely not afraid of the job! I am a proud mama of 2 cats named Archie and Simon. They are my absolute world! I will make sure to give your pets the same care, caution, attention, and love I give my boys! Pet care has always been a passion of mine. In fact, I went to school for it! Although I did not end up pursuing my desire to become a veterinarian, I still try to incorporate that love for animals in my day to day life! I have an extremely flexible work schedule that allows me to almost work fully remote. I would be able to stop over at the house pretty much whenever you need me to. My work set up also allows me to work anywhere if needed. My weekends are almost always open as well! I will always make sure to talk through your expectations to ensure you are comfortable with the nature of each type of visit. I typically would not host any pets in our home. We have a fenced in backyard and several spaces; however, I would not want to put your pet or my cats in an uncomfortable space. At a clients home, I am more than comfortable with backyard access, crate training, cleaning litter boxes, accessing food/water, and any other requirements for the visit! (Totally fine bringing in mail/watering plants!) I will only access the spaces you need me to. I am also fine spending the night if needed. That would be something we could discuss case by case!

About: I've loved and taken care of so many dpgs when I was 5-15 my family would foster all sorts of dogs. I currently own 2 dogs and I would love to take care of your pet as well! Currently I am available all day. Next week I go back into work and ill be cable to take care of pups or cats after 230pm I currently live in an apartment but I can walk great lengths to make sure the pup is as tired as they can be. If you have a fenced in yard I can play with the pup in there! I know how to change litter boxes for cats too!
“Annie has been amazing so far! She is very diligent with logging how the walk went and what activities occurred. We will continue to use her for recurring weekly walks and recommend her to everyone!”
“Maricela P. was just amazing with our Winston! He can be a handful at times just because he gets very excited to meet new people but Maricela handled him with the same care and affection as we do. She was the best with Winston and we are very grateful for finding her!”

About: I like to let dogs live out their natural adventurous instincts. I have no issue stopping to sniff ALL the flowers, dance in the grass and mark every. single. territory. No matter the type of pet you have - I don’t discriminate. Also, not embarrassed to be caught singing or whistling while we work. I can guarantee I will NOT be on my cell phone while walking your pup. I love searching for new, fun & safe routes to explore. Animals should be treated with the same patience, love & kindness we give to human beings. On that note, I am vegan “aka” a lover of all beings, even bugs- scared of some but working on myself .. fingers crossed. I have 6 cats currently. Love’m all. My husband and I refer to them as “our children.” The dream is to rescue pitbulls from kill shelters … Also, fingers crossed :)
“Leah is the best! She goes above and beyond for scooby and genuinely can tell she loves animals. She takes him on great walks and adores her from all the photos I see! 💖”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and genuinely love spending time with animals. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I always take the time to make them feel comfortable and cared for. As a recent Exercise Science graduate, I’m active, responsible, and attentive to detail, so whether your dog needs an energetic walk or a relaxed drop-in visit, I’ll provide dependable care and keep you updated with photos and messages every step of the way. I have a very flexible schedule and am available for dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekdays, and weekends. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a long walk, feeding, playtime, or companionship while you’re away, I’m happy to work with your schedule and provide dependable, consistent care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding schedules, walking preferences, medications (if applicable), and any routines your pet is used to. I treat every home with respect, make sure pets are secure before leaving, and always strive to create a calm, positive experience so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.
About: Hi! I’m Karen, a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for both small and large pets. I’ve cared for everything from my hamster in high school to my sister’s German Shepherd, Kratos, and I’m currently a proud cat mom to two senior cats, Leo and Toast. Beyond my own pets, I regularly care for my friends’ cats and dogs when they’re out of town. I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has their own quirks and needs. I’ve even had experience working with aggressive or anxious cats, as one of my own cats, Leo, can be quite the little spicy guy! I’m comfortable around both small and large animals, and while I may be small myself, I’m mighty when it comes to handling pets. I’m patient, attentive, and respectful of each pet’s boundaries, and I’ll always take the time to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a walk, some playtime, a meal, a clean litter box, or simply some company while you’re away, I’d be happy to give them the same care and attention I’d want someone to give my own pets. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands! I’m currently working a 9-5 in Glenview, available weekends, flexible Monday and Fridays (wfh days), I’m able to visit after work! Just let me know what you need and I’ll make sure you and your babies are taken care of. I always respect each pet’s boundaries and follow their owner’s instructions and routines. I make sure their basic needs are taken care of, while also giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection if they’re comfortable with it. I’ll get everything that needs to be done done, but I also like to go above and beyond—whether that means spending a little extra time with them, giving them some extra playtime, or sending updates and photos so their owners know they’re happy and cared for.
“I recently had the pleasure of hiring Jackie to take care of my furry friend for a week, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the first day, Jackie demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a genuine love for dogs. Jackie was excellent at communicating with us throughout the week. She provided daily updates, including photos, which reassured me that my dog was happy. Every day, Jackie arrived on time for each scheduled walk! This reliability was crucial for me, as I have a busy schedule and needed someone I could rely on. I also had an unexpected change in my schedule during the week, and Jackie was very accommodating. She adjusted the walking times without any fuss, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Jackie to anyone in need of a caring dog walker. We will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Sana has been fantastic taking care of my dog Rocky. He was sick the first day she started working for us and she communicated quickly, alerting me to what was going on, and followed up on his wellbeing. Fortunately, he's recovered, and Sana continues to care for him. I really appreciate her loving care for my fur baby.”

About: Pet/child sitter! I have a young niece who absolutely adores her Labradoodle- Oreo! They have grown up together and I have learned to juggle watching them at the same time throughout the years. They’re both sweethearts, which makes the experience so enjoyable ❣️ Willow is still a baby (in my eyes at least) and trained me to keep up with her high puppy energy- whether it was for a short drop in or an outdoor walk! She has her quiet moments too where she just loves cuddles 🥰 I am currently a college student with free time in between, before, and after classes, as well as weekends. I am pretty flexible when I’m not in class and understand people get busy during weekdays but still want to care for their pets, which I can help with. I love to stay active by going on walks so I would love some furry friends to join me! Also available for drop ins! I am not currently boarding at my own home, but when in a client’s home I am mindful of your space and more than happy to abide by household expectations shared with me.
“I thought I just left a review but just in case it didn't get processed I'll say it again thank you for for walking Penelope on such short notice she normally is shy at first when meeting new people she took to you as if she's known you for some time that's always a good sign thank you once again.”

About: I’ve lived with (and loved) cats and pups my whole life! I am happy to take care of your pet and show them as much love as you do! I am very flexible in terms of what support and care I can provide for your furry friend. I’d love to set up a Meet and Greet to get to know them. :) Compassion, love and patience are my go-to methods of care. I will be as thorough as possible in providing ongoing care to your pet. They are just as important to me as they are to you!

Sana has been fantastic taking care of my dog Rocky. He was sick the first day she started working for us and she communicated quickly, alerting me to what was going on, and followed up on his wellbeing. Fortunately, he's recovered, and Sana continues to care for him. I really appreciate her loving care for my fur baby.

Jackie is absolutely amazing! I was extremely nervous about using/trusting rover since it was my first time using any kind of dog walking app. We did a meet and greet and she was fantastic with my two elderly boys. She was extremely gentle and let them take their time to feel her out. She sent pics and a really detailed note when taking them for their walk, which made my day! She really eased my anxiety. Overall, a great person. So happy I found her!!

We had a wonderful experience with Alina. She’s professional, thorough and handled our dog Nitchky’s routine perfectly. We really appreciate the detailed report cards after each visit. She genuinely cares about the pets she’s watching. We will definitely be using her services again and highly recommend.
Arsh was great with Zaza! I could tell as soon as he walked in that he was kind and caring. Zaza took to him immediately. Because I live in a neighborhood with no sidewalks, so that dogs have to be walked on the street, I had a fairly long list of "rules" to follow in order to keep Zaza safe from vehicles (and actually having to think through these motivated me to up my own game). Also because of having to walk in the street, I asked him to wear several forms of LED lighting after dark. He immediately understood and each time he walked her, he made sure that all of these precautions were followed. He was on time for every walk and always very congenial. I absolutely would recommend Arsh as a dog walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
