âSophie did a wonderful job walking my dog, Juno. She was friendly, easy to communicate with, and arrived right on time. Most importantly, it is clear that she genuinely loves dogs and enjoys spending time with them. I felt completely comfortable leaving Juno in her care and would happily recommend Sophie to others.â

âParke was extremely accommodating with our very last min request and went out of his way to meet the dogs prior. Excited that we now have someone locally that we can call on, our smaller dog is very judgy, vocal and high energy but Parke had no issues handling him.â

âMeghan did a fantastic job with our pets - couldnât be happier with her prompt amd professional communication and responsiveness. She watched our dog and cat and did walks everyday etc. thanks!â

About: I grew up with dogs and Iâve been a dog owner most of my adult life. Iâve also been a dog owner from the puppy age of eight weeks all the way through mature life. I can take care of other pets as well, and I can be available for dog boarding, dog sitting, dog walks, and other pet care during your weekends and travels. I am a part-time parent and establishing this as additional income since I am a single income household in Marin county. I am available for dog walking and boarding on alternating weekends, and during periods of your travels when I am in town. I am an outdoors woman, and will get pets outside and active regularly. I know several local dog parks and dog-friendly trails since Iâve been a dog owner myself for years (I no longer have a dog as of early 2025). I have a fenced front and backyard. I can house a pet with all of your personal items for the pet anywhere in my home, and I can provide highly personalized care since I live alone (part time parent with alternating weekends on my own).

âThe boys enjoy Jillâs visits and with each time they warm up to her. This trip was longer than the last and I enjoyed getting all the updates, to know they are in good care. Thank you Jill.â

About: Iâve worked with many different animals, including cats, dogs, birds, hamsters. I love working and caring for them. Patience is needed to make your furry friends feel comfortable. Iâve worked with many large dog breeds, which include malamutes, German shepherds, pitbulls and even Akitaâs. Iâm currently work during the day so I am free most evenings Sunday through Thursday. I have more availability on Fridays and Saturdays during the day. I make sure the pets are in safe areas for them so that they donât get into anything that isnât safe. I make sure to give them space but follow them just in case. I want them feel comfortable in their space.
About: Dogs have always been a constant in life. From cane corsos to toy fox terriers, I have taken care of all sizes. I am extremely attentive and can read a dogâs body language very well. I have worked in animal care professionally for the last 7 years taking care of fish and inverts. Fun fact, I have training experience working with sea otters. I have lots of availability to care for your pets. I am available morning, day, & evenings - Monday through Friday. With some weekends available. Your dogâs safety is my top priority. I am detailed oriented and highly observant. Allowing me to take the best possible care of your dog. I use positive reinforcement to encourage wanted behavior and LRS (least reinforcing scenario) to discourage undesirable behaviors.
âAudrey was recommended by a friend. She was great. Easy to communicate with. I got pictures of my cats cuddling with her during the visits. She even helped with putting an unexpected grocery delivery in the fridge. Five stars!!â

About: Having 2 dogs of my own I am well versed in every aspect of making pets feel loved and cared for! I have cared for pets for nearly 8 years house sitting overnight, taking pups for lengthy walks and doing check ins/ feedings. I make it my mission to bond with your pet and make sure they are comfortable. I am available for pet sitting when I am home from college. My schedule is mostly flexible with majority of my availability being in the afternoons/evenings on weekdays and all day on weekends. I make sure that pets have the chance to warm up to me and that I put their needs first. I am comfortable with judging when a dog wants to go for a longer walk or head home early. Similarly with cats, I am able to gauge if a cat needs extra play time or if they want to be alone to nap. I will always check in with you as the owner before I sit, to make sure I know exactly what your pet needs!
About: Dogs have always been a part of my life, and I genuinely care for every dog as if they were my own family. I've had the joy of owning both a tiny Chihuahua and a gentle Great Dane, giving me firsthand experience with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In addition, I volunteer as a dog walker for Guide Dogs for the Blind, where I regularly walk dogs with unique personalities, training needs, and routines. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each dog's individual needs. Integrity and compassion are at the heart of everything I do. Whether we're out for a walk, enjoying playtime, or simply keeping your dog company, you can trust that they'll receive attentive, loving care and be treated with the same kindness, respect, and attention I would give my own pets. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family member is safe, happy, and truly cared for every step of the way. My schedule is very flexible, allowing me to accommodate my clients' needs and, whenever possible, walk their dogs at their usual times to help maintain a consistent routine. I treat every client's home with the utmost respect and care, just as I would my own. I'm happy to accommodate your household preferences and routines, whether that's setting or disarming an alarm system, following a shoes-off policy, or honoring any other instructions that help your home run smoothly. I'm also experienced with crating and feeding dogs, and I'm comfortable administering medications when needed. My goal is to make both you and your dog feel safe, supported, and well cared for.

About: I've looked out of my mentor's dog while at my day program at Autistry Studios on Fridays occasionally. Other that no previous pet care experience. I currently as of now at my day program at Autistry Studios Monday through Friday usually from 9-2:30pm. I'm available in the afternoon for availability. I have two cats in my home. I always watch for them because sometimes my parents let them outside and I always looked for them.

About: For years I have helped raise and train my dogs in my family. I have always had a passion for dogs and animal care. Ever since my mid teens Iâve been called upon by neighbors and friends to take of their dogs for days to weeks. I come from a family where everyone has a dog. I currently live with my parents and their 10 year old Norwich Terrier who has been in my care for the past few weeks as they travel. I consistently do what I can to involve dogs in my life whether away at college or at home. I love to engage with dogs through walks and spending time outside. I believe a dogs place is with people so I do what I can to be in there presence. I love to talk to my dog and keep them company with pets.
âAriela was brilliant, she looked after our 6 year old bulldog for 10 days. Our dog gets stressed out when boarded which leads to the dreaded bulldog skin issues every-time we go away. This was our first time booking drop in visits with Rover and it was great. Joey was looking better than ever when we returned all down to Arielaâs care. She followed his skin and eye routine and administered his medication daily. I always enjoyed getting update of him playing at the local dog park and getting lots of attention at home. I will be booking Ariela againâ

âTrisha was a wonderful pet sitter for my cat! She sent pictures and updates daily. She is knowledgeable and experienced with pets and has good communication skills. I will definitely hire her again!â

âLydia did a stellar job! She is reliable, on time and a she understands how to take of a cat, which is rare. I can tell she was here and actually paid attention to our cat because of the catâs behavior when I got home. I would recommend her to another cat ownerâ

About: Hi! I have always loved animals. I have had dogs my entire life since we adopted my first dog, a black lab, from the humane society when I was 5. I have also volunteered at the humane society for many years on a regular basis. I am home full time right now and my priority is giving the animals I look after the best possible care and of course lots of love! I just want them to be happy and comfortable with me. Reach out with any questions you may have. This is my main job at the moment so I have a very flexible schedule during the week. Therefore, my number one priority is making sure your pet is happy and safe while at home or out on a walk or hike! I have no pets myself right now because I live in a small apartment so I have a lot of time and energy to care for your dogs and cats. I have cared for many of my own pets, and they lived happy, long lives. With me, you have a trustworthy, competent, and caring animal lover.

âDevon was so friendly and communicative, we would love to utilize her again. Our pets loved her and she helped our shy dog come out of his shell while we were away. We are so pleased!â

âPat was an incredible help for my family! Pat helped with drop in visits to take care of my cat while my husband and I were in the hospital to give birth to our baby! Pat was flexible and understanding of the schedule changes, and most importantly she gave us a peace of mind â her updates and pictures of my cat Risa showed clearly that even though we had to leave her for almost a week, she was doing great and I didnât need to stress! All of that in an extremely bad heatwave â Pat made sure to turn on fans and bring Risa to a room with AC on. Pat also made sure to text both my husband and me on Rover, so we both could get the updates. She checked in on us too, which we appreciated! In the few days that Pat helped us we felt like we had a trustworthy and caring friend and that something that is so rare to find! Thank you, Pat!â

Anne was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our cats, and we came home to two very happy, relaxed kitties. She was incredibly sweet, reliable, and communicative throughout our trip, sending plenty of thoughtful updates and photos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was such a relief knowing they were in such caring hands. We would happily book Anne again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!

Emma took great care of our dog while we were out of town. She communicated well, arrived on time and spent quality time with her. She even helped us find a leak in our house that weâd been notified of while we were gone. I would definitely hire Emma again. Sheâs super reliable and caring.

Parke was extremely accommodating with our very last min request and went out of his way to meet the dogs prior. Excited that we now have someone locally that we can call on, our smaller dog is very judgy, vocal and high energy but Parke had no issues handling him.

Amazing! Lydia has taken care of my cat several times and she is the person I go to when I need incredible, thoughtful cat care-- she goes above and beyond and really puts me at ease. Lydia is genuinely invested in caring for my kitty cat and that is priceless.
Veronica was an amazing cat sitter for my boys! Her communication was excellent from start to finishâshe kept us updated regularly and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was clear she truly paid attention to our catâs specific needs and preferences, which meant so much to us. She even went the extra mile to pick up some packages and deal with unexpectedly running out of their food. On top of that, she was kind and gentle with our cats and gave great daily updates. We would absolutely trust her to care for them again and highly recommend her services!

Delfina was amazing and I cannot wait to use her again! She was very communicative during and prior to her visits. She made sure to take great care of our dog, cat and even our hamster while we were away! So grateful I have someone reliable and loving to my animals I can count on while we are away!

Chuck was fantastic and went way above and beyond for me when he watched my cat. He was very responsive and kind and patient when I was worried. I canât recommend him highly enough. There should be more than five stars available for someone as good as he was.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Olivia is well-loved on here for a reason! She is warm, caring and responsible. You will have nothing to worry about even if you are the most anxious type of pet parent, as I am after trying so many sitters over the years and some of them have not been great. These days I have a very shy and skittish type of kitty, he wouldn't come out at all (even after several days) for the last sitter I tried. With Liv, it's a totally different story. He not only ate well (which was an issue the last time I tried to leave him), but also he came out for his dinner while she was there, and allowed pets!! She made an effort to show that she was reading the detailed instructions I left, communicated exactly how everything went with notes and photos, and just generally has a gentle, sweet energy that would put anyone at ease. She clearly takes pride in doing things well, and it shows that she loves animals. I feel lucky to have found her to care for my little guy!

- 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
