About: My jack russell terrier has been training me to take care of energetic dogs since I was 12 and I’ve even helped my neighbors with dog sitting for vacations, as well as many, many walks with all various types of dogs from puppies to elderly and little to big dogs 🫶🏻 Hoping to manage my pet care time with a high majority of my week to help pay for college over the summer! From morning walks to afternoon walks as well as house sitting, making sure the dog stays active while also receiving ALOT of love is my natural daily routine as a jack russell owner! The pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities and I’ll make sure to keep your home clean and secure while making sure your pet receives exercise, lotssss of affection, and its also important to me that ill keep the owner updated with little updates about how their best friend is doing!

About: I have solid dog-raising experience: I raised my Pitbull from 2 months old to 2 years old, and he regularly slept beside me as a puppy. I absolutely adore puppies and all dogs in general, and this close companionship helped me learn to read dog body language, manage energetic, strong breeds, and maintain safety on walks and drop-in visits. I always schedule meet-and-greets and only take on one-on-one care for every dog. Im currently work Monday-Friday 9-6 anytime after 6pm is an yes for me and im off on weekend so free free to bookings I only provide one-on-one walking and drop-in visits at clients’ homes. I keep a calm, quiet atmosphere, watch the dog’s body language closely, and always use proper leashes to avoid stress or danger. I never bring pets back to my place.
“This is my second booking with Laura, she is such a sweet person. She is so patient with my cats and so attentive to every aspect of their care. She’s the only sitter for me 😊”

“Alyssa has been coming to help once a week with both of my dogs on my long day at work. She is fabulous. I trust her completely. She is honest, communicative and punctual. But most important the pooches love her!! You can’t go wrong with Alyssa❤️”

About: I come from a family that has loved and raised 3 bulldogs. Two out of three of those bulldogs were in our care starting from when they were 6 months old. Growing up, I would often have to babysit my pets when my parents went on trips. I am no stranger to big, strong dogs or how rough they like to play. I am also familiar with dogs who are not friendly with other dogs. I had a Shiba Inu and a bulldog who were not friendly with other dogs. When it comes to pets like that, I’m very careful and aware of my surroundings. I will always respect a pet’s boundaries. I understand that pets are considered family and should be treated as such. I previously lived with a family that had multiple cats in their care. I loved chilling and playing with them. Living in that house taught me that (unlike most dogs) most cats have their boundaries and will have to come to you. Pets of all sizes and breeds bring me a lot of joy. As much as I love dogs, I have a soft spot for cats and hope to have one of my own someday. I am currently unemployed and graduated college a year ago, so I have a flexible weekday schedule. Weekends are slightly restrictive since I like to allot that time for my personal life. The house I currently live in has a zero-tolerance policy for pets. However, I am capable of following instructions and caring for pets - having lived with my parents who owned dogs, cats, turtles, and hamsters as I was growing up.
“Sahirah took such amazing care of my silly kitty Miles over the holidays. I can’t thank her enough for all the love and attention she gave him. Sahirah is just a perfect angel!”

“Jessica did a great job! I have a very standoffish cat who warmed up to her instantly. She is very thorough and attentive to detail. I also loved the reports she gave at the end of each visit. I was able to relax on my trip, knowing that my pets were in her care.”

“April did a wonderful job checking in our two dogs for midday breaks this week! She was very communicative and made sure to address all the things we asked her to: enrichment activities for one pup and snuggles with another. I’ll definitely book her again!”

About: Hi! I recently graduated from UCSB and have a very flexible schedule this summer before starting my full-time job. I’ve dog sat for family friends, and neighbors over the years and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I’ve cared for a Maltese for several weeks, looked after a German Shepherd, and watched other small and medium-sized dogs. I’m comfortable following feeding schedules, going on walks, playing with dogs, and making sure they feel comfortable while their owners are away. I always try to provide the same level of care and attention they receive at home. I’m also happy to send photo updates so you can feel confident that your pet is in good hands. I have a very flexible schedule and can provide care throughout the day, which means your dog will get plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship. I’m available on weekdays and weekends and can easily adjust to your dog’s normal routine. Since I’m home most of the day, I can make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and never left alone for long periods of time. I live in a spacious townhouse with plenty of room for dogs to relax and move around comfortably. I also have a private porch where dogs can safely spend time outside and enjoy some fresh air. There is a coach outside for them to lay on. I understand that every dog has different needs and routines, so I always follow owner instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, exercise, and any special care. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and at home while you’re away.
About: I've had my own dogs and cats for most of my life ranging from easy going to skittish and temperamental. I've been a go to pet carer for family, friends, and for hire since I was a teenager. I have experience with pets with complex dietary needs, medication regiments, very shy animals who don't deal well with being apart from their families, and high energy critters who need lots of stimulation. I treat them all with the patience and kindness they deserve while they are apart from their owners. I'm not living with a pet for the first time in a long time and miss I am working part time, which leaves me very flexible to care for your pets on your schedule as needed for drop in care or longer stays with your pet in their own home including nights, weekends, and overnights. I have a spacious hatchback that I can use to transport your pets. I cannot care for pets in my own home due to a highly allergic roommate, but I can fetch pets and take them wherever they need to be.

“Sonjia is absolutely fantastic! We thought our dogs would take naps after we left the house and left them with her but instead they played for almost the entire time we were gone. That’s a testament to how much they immediately liked her! It’s scary to leave our babies with someone new, especially with our puppy having some health issues but Sonjia immediately made us feel at ease and her expertise and confidence with animals/dogs was instantly apparent. So glad to have found her!!”

About: As a passionate dog lover, I have experience working with all types of dogs, ranging from small to large breeds, and have a strong understanding of their unique needs and behaviors. I have a deep appreciation for the different temperaments and personalities of each breed and am confident in my ability to provide the best possible care for your furry friend. I am committed to making sure that your dog is comfortable and well-cared for while you are away, and will provide them with plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection. Whether they need long walks, energetic play sessions, or just a cozy spot to relax, I will ensure that their needs are met. Thank you for considering me as a caretaker for your dog. I look forward to the opportunity to provide them with the love and attention they deserve. As a student, my schedule is very flexible and I am available to provide care for your dog on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I understand the importance of finding a reliable and trustworthy caregiver for your pet and I am committed to providing the best possible care for your dog. My flexible schedule allows me to be available during a variety of different times, so whether you need me to stop by in the morning or stay late into the evening, I am here to accommodate your needs. I have a passion for working with dogs and am confident in my ability to provide them with the love and attention they deserve. Whether your dog needs a long walk, some playtime in the park, or just a cozy spot to rest, I am here to make sure that their needs are met. I have one small schipperke that has her own room with a bed and more than enough blankets to keep her warm. With water bowl and a pee pad that is changed every other day. I also have to a husky named Kujo, and a corgi named Ellie, that live in a room with me. Since they are more energetic dogs they have a big back yard to run around. To add on they have plenty of bones and toys to play with.
“We had a wonderful vacation knowing that our three kitties were being lovingly cared for. Felicia dropped in three times a day to feed and hug our kitties. One of our kitties is very shy and by the last day of our getaway, Putty was like "putty in her hands", literally. She sent multiple photos and a couple of videos. The kitties looked like they enjoyed their vacation as much as we did.”
“Thank you Albert and Catherine for your drop in visit with Danny. I was relieved to know you played ball with him, picked up after him, gave him fresh water and even pulled in my dumpster!!! You both are amazing. I surely will hire you again!!!”

I’m so grateful I found Lauriane to help with my pup! I was taking a really stressful exam for 3 days and not once did I feel worried leaving her to care for him. My dog is not only very high energy and chaotic, but he takes medication and refuses to take his meds without a very “special” routine. Lauriane had no problem taking on the task. She sent so many cute photos and videos of him too. I would highly recommend her and I will certainly book her again in the future!

Sahirah is fantastic! This is our third time booking with her and she is always stellar - we will continue to come back! She’s very communicative and kind, even brought in a package for us :) she treats our cats like her own and makes us feel like our kitties are completely safe when we are out of town! Definitely book with her if you can!

Kathleen was amazing! She was extremely thorough with all the details I provided and sent updates throughout the duration of the stay. I'm always an anxious individual with new people taking care of my dog, but she made me feel quickly at ease and picked up on all the things I'd be concerned about. Also, Kathleen is extremely quick to respond at all and always available. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

April is the absolute best!! Our cat loves her and she spends quality time playing and cuddling with him. She also sends great updates and pictures so I am never worried about him when I’m gone. She is quick to communicate and is very friendly and flexible. This was my second time booking with her; so happy to have found such a reliable cat sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
