About: I come from a family that has loved and raised 3 bulldogs. Two out of three of those bulldogs were in our care starting from when they were 6 months old. Growing up, I would often have to babysit my pets when my parents went on trips. I am no stranger to big, strong dogs or how rough they like to play. I am also familiar with dogs who are not friendly with other dogs. I had a Shiba Inu and a bulldog who were not friendly with other dogs. When it comes to pets like that, I’m very careful and aware of my surroundings. I will always respect a pet’s boundaries. I understand that pets are considered family and should be treated as such. I previously lived with a family that had multiple cats in their care. I loved chilling and playing with them. Living in that house taught me that (unlike most dogs) most cats have their boundaries and will have to come to you. Pets of all sizes and breeds bring me a lot of joy. As much as I love dogs, I have a soft spot for cats and hope to have one of my own someday. I am currently unemployed and graduated college a year ago, so I have a flexible weekday schedule. Weekends are slightly restrictive since I like to allot that time for my personal life. The house I currently live in has a zero-tolerance policy for pets. However, I am capable of following instructions and caring for pets - having lived with my parents who owned dogs, cats, turtles, and hamsters as I was growing up.
“Jessica took such great care of my 2 kitties while I was away for work during her drop-in visits! My cats are normally very shy but I was shocked to find out that they came out for Jessica. She sent me detailed visit summaries and pictures. She not only took care of all the chores of cleaning the litter boxes and checking on food and water, but she also spent time playing with the cats. Will definitely seek Jessica again next time I am out of town.”

“Thank you, thank you!! Robin was amazing - communicated regularly, promptly on schedule, and really gave our cats the love and care we hoped they would get. She’ll be our first stop next time we need cat care.”
“I’m so grateful to Sahirah for accommodating our last-minute booking. She was incredibly kind, quick to respond, and kept us updated with photos the whole time. This was my first time using Rover, and she made it such an easy, reassuring experience. I’d absolutely love to book with her again in the future :)”

“THANK YOU, Laura! Laura took wonderful care of our cat, Ada, during a heat wave. She dealt with a finicky keypad and ants with grace, and even brought Ada a toy all while being incredibly communicative and sending lots of pictures. We appreciate her care so much!”

“My wife and I cannot recommend April enough! She was friendly, caring, and really sweet with our two cats. She went above and beyond what we had asked her to do for our cats while we were away and provided photos and detailed updates about how the cats were doing.”

About: I connect deeply with animals and care about their well being. I am very reliable and always follow through with all my commitments, never late! I currently teach at an online school and have varying weekly schedules, but I am normally available for about 4 hours on the weekdays to walk dogs and more flexible to house sit and care for cats. I have two cats that are very comfortable around other animals. I have a patio and live in a very quiet street, perfect for going on walks.

“Vicky was absolutely amazing with our furbabies! From the start, she was kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about animals. She kept us updated with photos and videos throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our pets were comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter—Vicky truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pets!”

“Lauriane was amazing! She was so patient and kind with our dogs and they seemed really comfortable with her right off the bat. It’s never easy being away from our pups, but knowing they’re in such good hands made me feel so much better. We will definitely reach out again!”

“Sophia is amazing , quick to respond , always keeps me updated and sends lots of cute pictures . I will continue to request her as long as she’s available. Thank you once again .”

About: I have a lifetime of hands on experience caring for animals of all kinds. I grew up taking care of dogs with my family, pet sitting for friends and relatives, and I spent several years working on a farm raising animals from barn cats to Great Pyrenees mountain dogs. I most recently adopted two senior Male cats who require daily feeding, litter box refreshing, and lots of snuggles. I currently work part-time, so I have flexibility and I am willing to work with the pet's schedule to make sure they are most comfortable. My cats are indoor only, so we make sure to keep all doors closed, we keep food off the counter, and we maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule to keep the house in safe order. I will adhere to my client's requests and care for their pet like I would care for my own. I am also an Eagle Scout and a Teacher by profession.
About: I've had my own dogs and cats for most of my life ranging from easy going to skittish and temperamental. I've been a go to pet carer for family, friends, and for hire since I was a teenager. I have experience with pets with complex dietary needs, medication regiments, very shy animals who don't deal well with being apart from their families, and high energy critters who need lots of stimulation. I treat them all with the patience and kindness they deserve while they are apart from their owners. I'm not living with a pet for the first time in a long time and miss I am working part time, which leaves me very flexible to care for your pets on your schedule as needed for drop in care or longer stays with your pet in their own home including nights, weekends, and overnights. I have a spacious hatchback that I can use to transport your pets. I cannot care for pets in my own home due to a highly allergic roommate, but I can fetch pets and take them wherever they need to be.

“Sonjia is absolutely fantastic! We thought our dogs would take naps after we left the house and left them with her but instead they played for almost the entire time we were gone. That’s a testament to how much they immediately liked her! It’s scary to leave our babies with someone new, especially with our puppy having some health issues but Sonjia immediately made us feel at ease and her expertise and confidence with animals/dogs was instantly apparent. So glad to have found her!!”

Whether your dog needs a long walk, some playtime in the park, or just a cozy spot to rest, I am here to make sure that their needs are met. I have one small schipperke that has her own room with a bed and more than enough blankets to keep her warm. With water bowl and a pee pad that is changed every other day. I also have to a husky named Kujo, and a corgi named Ellie, that live in a room with me. Since they are more energetic dogs they have a big back yard to run around. To add on they have plenty of bones and toys to play with.
“Thank you Albert and Catherine for your drop in visit with Danny. I was relieved to know you played ball with him, picked up after him, gave him fresh water and even pulled in my dumpster!!! You both are amazing. I surely will hire you again!!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - San Marino
I was new to Rover and needed some help to make sure my cat Sesame was cared for. Joy not only helped make sure my Sesame was fed and litter cleaned with drop in visits, but she took the time to play with her and make sure she was doing well while I was away. My Sesame is a somewhat shy cat especially around new people, and I was blown away with how quickly Joy was able to get Sesame to open up to her. Joy showed an amazing detail to her care and I would definitely reach out for help again if needed. Thanks Joy!

Alexis went above and beyond basic drop in duties caring of our senior kitty for the weekend. One morning she discovered a local ant mob had seized control of the kitchen trashcan. Yikes! Alexis quickly found a can of ant spray and wrested control of our kitchen back from the powerful underground ant mob. Whew! Thanks, Alexis! You’re a gem.

We had such a wonderful experience! She took amazing care of our three cats while we were away and was incredibly kind, attentive, and reliable. She kept us updated and made us feel completely at ease knowing our babies were in good hands. 🥹🐱❤️ You can really tell she genuinely cares about animals and treated our cats with so much love and patience. We came home to three happy, well-cared-for kitties. We’re so grateful for everything and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend! 💕
Faye is all you could ask for in a pet sitter and more! She went above and beyond in caring for our two cats and we could not have felt more at ease knowing they were in her hands. She gave them attention, stimulation, and attended to all of their needs. She kept us well informed of how they were doing and even went to great lengths to battle the ant colony that decide to invade their food dishes while we were away. We are so grateful for all of Faye’s efforts and care and will definitely be booking her again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
