“My fiancé and I have never taken our dog to a dog sitter before. It was our first time leaving our Sasha girl with someone other than a family member, and we were so nervous to use this app, but Rocío has definitely changed our minds. Rocío was so sweet, gentle and patient with Sasha upon meeting her for the first time. She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures of Sasha playing in the yard, which put our minds at ease. The constant communication and updates gave us the reassurance that Sasha was in good hands. When I picked her up, I can tell that Sasha wasn’t anxious to see me or leave, like she normally is when we leave her alone for a few hours. Rocío said Sasha did really well for her it being her first time with a dog sitter and it filled my heart. Rocío and her family are so nice and welcoming. You can tell they have a genuine love for animals. We will definitely be using this service again! Thank you so much for everything!”

“Jinghong is a very caring sitter. My dog Bacon fell in love with her starting from meet and greet. Bacon was well taken care of, and I really appreciated the updates and photos. It was obvious he was happy and comfortable during his stay. Thank you for treating him with such care—I would absolutely book with you again and highly recommend you to others!”

“Denise was amazing! This was our first time using this rover and Denise and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. She kept us in touch with buster daily, sending photos so my girls could see he was ok. I would highly recommend Denise. Thank you again!!”

“Alicia was so amazing with GG she went out of her way to make sure All the care instructions were done it was a pleasure talking with her she’s super sweet I feel very comfortable having GG stay with her and I would definitely highly recommend her.”

“Karla was super responsive and very accommodating! She accepted our request immediately and took care of pup like he was her own. He even came back to us with a printed holiday photo! Definitely recommend and will use again. Thank you!!”

“My puppy Sonic and I are so lucky to have found someone as reliable and trustworthy as Evelyn. I got many videos of Sonic throughout the day and he was just having a blast. I will be booking again. Thank you Evelyn !”

“Can’t say enough good things about the way Andrew took care of Conor. Great setting and logistics to accommodate Conor’s needs and safety… crazy amount of exercise and on top of that Andrew shared tips at the end of the day to improve Conor’s overall behaviour. 100/10”

“I was honestly very nervous using an online dog sitter for the first time because my biggest fear was being scammed or something happening to my dog. But from the moment I dropped my dog off, Paloma made me feel completely at ease. She communicated with me throughout the entire day, sent plenty of pictures and updates, and was always quick to respond. It was so comforting seeing how loved, safe, and cared for my dog was while I was away. You can truly tell she cares about the animals she watches. I’m so grateful for the experience, and I would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

“I have used them twice so far and can’t be any happier! When I was searching for a sitter for my 5 month old for the first time, I was super nervous and did not know what to expect because my puppy was not spayed and wasn’t fully house broken. Chulmin & Hyujin were extremely flexible and provided updates with pictures and short video clips throughout the day which gave me piece in mind. I was running late for pick up but they were extremely flexible and accommodating. It was a truly pleasant experience and I used them again this past weekend when I had to go on a trip. They seem to love pets and are very knowledgeable/experienced, and provide you consistent feedback throughout the duration. They took my puppy for a walk and socialized with their dog (and other dogs during the first time my puppy stayed with them). I asked them to gradually exposed my puppy to other dogs since that was her first time with other dogs which the totally respected and handled extremely well. I am very thankful for their care and service and strongly recommend to others!”

About: Hi, I'm Vivian! I've been caring for pets for over 10 years—everything from energetic puppies to wise senior pets. I have personal experience with a variety of breeds, including Pomskies, Labradors, and cats with special needs. Whether it's daily walks, feeding routines, medication administration, or just giving belly rubs and playtime, I treat every pet like they're part of my family. I'm attentive, reliable, and always aim to make your pet feel safe and loved while you're away. I understand that every animal has their own personality and needs, and I take the time to get to know them and follow your care instructions to a tee. Let me help make your time away stress-free—for both you and your pet! Pet care is my full-time focus, and working from home gives me the flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. Whether it's morning walks, midday playtime, or evening routines, I’m able to stay present and responsive to each pet’s needs. My remote work lifestyle means I can offer dependable care, accommodate last-minute requests, and maintain a calm, reassuring environment for pets. Caring for animals is more than part of my routine—it’s something I genuinely love and prioritize every day. Whether your pet is crashing at my place or I’m swinging by yours, I’m all about making them feel safe, happy, and loved. My home is pet-friendly, cozy, and full of good vibes—perfect for lounging, playing, and getting spoiled with attention. I stick to their usual routines to keep things familiar and stress-free (yes, even the quirky ones!). During drop-in visits, I make sure your pets get everything they need—from meals and belly rubs to a little playtime and TLC. I treat every pet like they’re my own and every visit like it’s the highlight of my day (because it is). Basically, your pet’s comfort and happiness are my top priority—whether they’re hanging out with me or waiting for you at home!
About: I have extensive experience working in Veterinary Emergency Care, which has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, safety, and how to recognize subtle changes in a pet’s well-being. I provide personalized boarding in my home and accept only one family at a time, allowing me to give each pet individualized attention in a calm, low-stress environment. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, high-energy dogs, anxious pets, and dogs that require additional monitoring or support. I am also happy to reinforce training and routines that owners are already working on at home. I understand that being away from home can be stressful for some pets, so I do my best to maintain their normal routine and make their stay feel as familiar and comfortable as possible. Whether your dog sleeps in a crate, on a dog bed, on the couch, or in bed with their family, I will follow the routine you have established at home whenever possible. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, secure, and cared for while you’re away. I provide personalized care and keep my schedule flexible so that the pets in my care receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I rarely leave the house for more than an hour, and only occasionally for up to two hours if I need to run an errand. This allows me to provide regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, companionship, and plenty of supervision. Because I only host one family at a time, I am able to give each pet my full attention and maintain the routine they are used to at home. Whether your dog enjoys playing, going for walks, relaxing on the couch, sleeping in a crate, or curling up on the bed, I do my best to make their stay feel comfortable, familiar, and stress-free. Providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment is extremely important to me. My home is organized with pet safety in mind, and I strive to create a peaceful setting where dogs can relax and feel at home. Communication is also a priority, and owners can expect regular photos, videos, and updates throughout their pet’s stay.

Intermittent games of fetch between zoom calls are always on the agenda as well! Paloma was very responsive and always updated on how Ace was doing with the other little fur babies (he can be a handful at times). She even used her time with him to train him on basic commands. Overall very happy with how she babied my baby boy 🩷 will be going back!!

I cannot thank Karla enough for providing an amazing care to our dog, Miley. I had to book her as last min booking while we were traveling and we couldn’t leave our dog for long hours at the hotel. Karla sent us numerous photos throughout the day when she was taking care of Miley from 9am-5pm. She was informative on how our dog was settling in, how she was spending time, or taking treats etc. She made our travel stress free because we knew Miley was getting a gray care. I would highly recommend her to any dog owners 🙌🏻👏🏻❤️

Amazing!!! She was so nice and great with pictures and communication. I’ve been searching for someone with Frenchie / Frenchie experience since the breed is super sensitive and I’m glad i found Wendy! My little guy is very shy but he seemed to fit right in with Wendy and her dogs. I will absolutely be booking again.

Erica was AMAZING with Chloe! 🐶 My pup spent the entire day with her and did wonderfully. It was clear from the beginning how caring, patient, and attentive Erica is. Chloe came back home happy, relaxed and very well taken care of, which gave me great peace of mind. I would absolutely book with Erica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter. Thank you, Erica! 🙌💙

Kun, from the get-go had been very responsive. Bunny has stayed with Kun and his wonderful family a couple of times for daycare and they have been so kind and loving to Bunny. Kun takes Bunny out for walks, makes Bunny practice his tricks and overall keeps Bunny very mentally stimulated! Can’t recommend him enough! Also, Som is super adorable 🥰

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
