“Our dog always has the best time with Aeli and her dogs! She sends so many pictures and was able to watch her on Thanksgiving which was so helpful. Ruby can’t wait to go back!”

“My fiancé and I have never taken our dog to a dog sitter before. It was our first time leaving our Sasha girl with someone other than a family member, and we were so nervous to use this app, but Rocío has definitely changed our minds. Rocío was so sweet, gentle and patient with Sasha upon meeting her for the first time. She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures of Sasha playing in the yard, which put our minds at ease. The constant communication and updates gave us the reassurance that Sasha was in good hands. When I picked her up, I can tell that Sasha wasn’t anxious to see me or leave, like she normally is when we leave her alone for a few hours. Rocío said Sasha did really well for her it being her first time with a dog sitter and it filled my heart. Rocío and her family are so nice and welcoming. You can tell they have a genuine love for animals. We will definitely be using this service again! Thank you so much for everything!”

“I was so happy to have Ophelia stay with Deborah, and she had a great time playing with Deborah’s dog Henry. Deborah’s house is very neat and clean, she’s a great communicator, and overall a lovely person to meet. Will definitely use her services again.”

“Can’t say enough good things about the way Andrew took care of Conor. Great setting and logistics to accommodate Conor’s needs and safety… crazy amount of exercise and on top of that Andrew shared tips at the end of the day to improve Conor’s overall behaviour. 100/10”

“I have used them twice so far and can’t be any happier! When I was searching for a sitter for my 5 month old for the first time, I was super nervous and did not know what to expect because my puppy was not spayed and wasn’t fully house broken. Chulmin & Hyujin were extremely flexible and provided updates with pictures and short video clips throughout the day which gave me piece in mind. I was running late for pick up but they were extremely flexible and accommodating. It was a truly pleasant experience and I used them again this past weekend when I had to go on a trip. They seem to love pets and are very knowledgeable/experienced, and provide you consistent feedback throughout the duration. They took my puppy for a walk and socialized with their dog (and other dogs during the first time my puppy stayed with them). I asked them to gradually exposed my puppy to other dogs since that was her first time with other dogs which the totally respected and handled extremely well. I am very thankful for their care and service and strongly recommend to others!”

“Bentley had a great time today at Nicole’s. She was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She also sent updates and pictures throughout his time there which was really nice. Highly recommend!”

About: I've had dogs all my life! My pup Toffee is my best friend, nothing beats coming home to someone who's always so excited to see you! I take care of friends' and family's dogs while they're away as well - both large and small. I spoil them and always want them to feel at home while their person is away. I take the pups out about every 3-4 hours or as needed. It breaks up the day as well and give me a chance to get up and walk too! Intermittent games of fetch between zoom calls are always on the agenda as well! Lunchtime breaks consist of lots of play time, and after work I usually make sure that we spend a good amount of time outside. I take the pups out about every 3-4 hours or as needed. It breaks up the day as well and give me a chance to get up and walk too! I love giving lots of playtime and cuddles on the floor, and love being able to take them out to the park to run and play, or just a leisurely stroll around the block! I'll practice commands too with lots of treats and praise!
About: I’ve always had cats and dogs throughout my adult life. My husband and I operate a small home-based business, which allows us to have a flexible schedule. We both genuinely love animals, so we’ve been actively providing a cat boarding, dog walking and drop-in visits through Wag and Rover. We’ve gained great experience and positive feedback from our clients, and we always prioritize safety, reliability, and loving care. I genuinely love both cats and dogs and care for them with patience, kindness, and responsibility. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, whether it’s playtime, walks, quiet companionship, or following specific routines. Ensuring your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness is always my top priority. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. My husband and I have been running our own business from home in Paramus, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I already own and care for two cats and one dog at home, so my days are structured around feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. Because I work from home, I’m able to freely adjust my time to care for your pet—whether that means regular check-ins, longer visits, walks, or simply spending quality time to make them feel comfortable and secure. I offer drop-in visits and dog walking services in my clients’ homes only but I offer a boarding service for cats. During drop-in visits, I carefully follow your pet’s routine, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning for cats, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. For dog walks, I focus on safe, enjoyable walks suited to your dog’s energy level and needs, always paying close attention to their behavior and surroundings. I make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure while you’re away. When walking a large dog or two dogs at the same time, my husband joins me so we can work as a team and ensure the dogs are cared for safely. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I can adjust my time to provide reliable visits and walks. I’m also happy to send photo and text updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind.

They accepted my last minute booking. Very communicative and just really friendly people. They were accommodating with my senior dog needs. You could tell they have alot of experience caring with pets. Such and pawsome sitter. Thank you and I hope you’ll accept our future requests.

Pierre and Minji were wonderful with Coco. This has been the first time she was calm at another place other than home. I could tell they treated as their own dog. Communication was great at all times and they are just lovely people. I’m so happy to have found this amazing pair to trust Coco with anytime.

As always Catherine is reliable. Cub is used to her and her sweet Cashew. Her place is dog-friendly and so is the area by her apartment. She takes Cub for walks and sends us photos. She just knows what to do and we trust her. Thank you so much, Catherine for caring for Cub.

I cannot thank Karla enough for providing an amazing care to our dog, Miley. I had to book her as last min booking while we were traveling and we couldn’t leave our dog for long hours at the hotel. Karla sent us numerous photos throughout the day when she was taking care of Miley from 9am-5pm. She was informative on how our dog was settling in, how she was spending time, or taking treats etc. She made our travel stress free because we knew Miley was getting a gray care. I would highly recommend her to any dog owners 🙌🏻👏🏻❤️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your River Edge commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
