Aeli is an amazing sitter. I try to choose sitters who have their own dogs so my own can socialize. I think (since I can’t read her mind) my pup had a great time. Aeli sent numerous pictures which were greatly appreciated. We will definitely book again!

About: I’m a mom of two, and I have two Maltese of my own, so I know how much our pets mean to us. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just giving them lots of attention and cuddles. I’ll care for your dog like they’re part of my own family, and I’ll make sure you get plenty of updates and photos so you can relax while you’re away. I work from home full-time and have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, and enjoy the outdoors. I love spending time outside with them, whether we’re playing in the yard or taking a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. Because I work from home, I also offer flexible drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, or after my workday. Whether your pup needs a potty break, some exercise, playtime, or a little extra love while you’re away, I’m happy to help! I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play, and I can crate your dog if needed. Since I work from home full-time, your dog will never be left alone for long and will receive lots of attention and care throughout the day. I also offer drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, and after work to fit your schedule.

About: Hi! I’m a pet lover with a flexible schedule and a home with a large fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and explore. I currently have a friendly Golden Retriever and a senior cat, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime outside, or just relaxing indoors, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’ll also send plenty of photos and updates so you can enjoy your time away without worrying. I work for myself, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for pets throughout the day. Dogs will get regular potty breaks, outdoor time in my fenced yard, walks, playtime, and lots of attention. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends and can usually accommodate different schedules. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a large fenced backyard where dogs can safely run and play. I also have a friendly Golden Retriever who enjoys meeting other dogs. Every pet is different, so I follow each owner’s instructions and try to keep their usual routine as much as possible. I provide regular photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away.

Craig was the first ever dog sitter from Rover that I’ve used. If all goes well I’m really hoping he’s the only one I ever have to use. He was extremely knowledgeable about dogs, actually enjoyed being with my dog (which is the most important to me), kept me updated, and when I picked my pup up, he was happy and easily jumped right back into routine. I would recommend Craig over & over again!

About: I have been a nurse for 14 years, I currently work from home as a utilization management nurse, I have been dedicating my career to caring for and supporting others through some of life's most challenging moments. Compassion, empathy, and service have always been at the heart of who I am, both professionally and personally. I have also been a dog owner for most of my life. Dogs have always been an important part of my family and have brought me immense joy, companionship, and unconditional love. Last year, I lost my beloved dog of 13 years, and while the loss left a significant void in my heart, the memories we shared continue to bring me comfort. Although I am not yet ready to become a dog owner again permanently, I have found fulfillment in caring for other people's dogs. Whether it's walking, pet sitting, or simply spending time with them, being around dogs allows me to continue sharing the love and care that comes so naturally to me. Caring for animals has become a meaningful way to honor the bond I shared with my own dog while helping others ensure their pets receive the attention, affection, and care they deserve. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I currently work from home as a Utilization Management Nurse, which allows me to have a flexible schedule and be present throughout the day. Because I work remotely, I am able to provide pets with regular attention, companionship, walks, feeding, medication administration if needed, and plenty of potty breaks. Having been a dog owner for most of my life, caring for pets has always been part of my everyday routine. I enjoy incorporating walks, playtime, and quality one-on-one attention into my day to ensure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. My work-from-home schedule allows me to maintain a consistent presence, making it easier to meet the individual needs of each pet. When caring for pets in my home, I focus on providing a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where they can feel relaxed and secure. I work from home as a Utilization Management Nurse, which allows me to be present throughout the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, feeding, and plenty of attention. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special needs to help them feel at home. My home is kept clean, pet-friendly, and free from hazards, and I closely monitor pets to ensure their safety and well-being. I follow all owner instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any specific care requirements. Having been a dog owner for most of my life, I understand that pets are family. I treat every pet in my care with the same love, patience, and attention that I gave my own dog, ensuring they receive plenty of affection, enrichment, and individualized care while their owners are away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Dumont on Rover is $58.28 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 11,287 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Dumont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Dumont commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 11,287 sitters in Dumont, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
