“Melissa was great! This was our second time using her and we will definitely use her again! Definitely recommend her to come into your home and dog sit. She is wonderful with our puppy and Sassy loves her!”

About: Hi, I’m Hope! I’ve always felt at home with animals, especially dogs. I believe every dog has their own unique personality, and I love taking the time to understand what makes them feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether your pup is energetic and playful or calm and cuddly, I’ll meet them where they are with patience, kindness, and genuine care. I’m dependable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. You can expect regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know your furry family member is happy and in good hands. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering basic medications if needed, and giving plenty of affection and companionship. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where your dog feels secure while you’re away. I know trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’d love the opportunity to care for your best friend and become someone you can rely on whenever you need a helping hand.
“Cynthia always goes above and beyond! She doesn’t just go the extra mile - She goes an extra 5 miles! We have three dogs and she has been our number one go-to since we met her. One of our pups has some quirky health issues that we are working through, and she is always making sure she is aware of it and keeping us informed. My husband and I can enjoy our time away, even when one of our pups may not be feeling well, because we know they are in good capable hands. Always recommend!!”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy spending time with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that’s going for walks, playing, sticking to feeding schedules, or simply keeping them company. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, because I have a pet of my own. I’ll always treat them with the same care and respect I treat my own. I’m reliable, communicative - I work two customer service jobs - and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working part time, so I’m available in the afternoons most of the time, and I’m very flexible with times and days. I like to feel active and take dogs on walks because it’s a great activity for all parties involved! Your pet’s safety and happiness are my absolute top priorities. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I love sending photo and video updates throughout the day so you always know your pet is having a blast and is in great hands!
“We had Kelly house sit for us while we were on vacation (5 days), our two larger dogs (#65 and #100) love her! She definitely cares about them and it makes travelling easier knowing that your pets are in good hands. We will definitely be booking her again.”

“Katie was a wonderful sitter! She kept me updated and asked questions when she wasn’t sure of something. Kept my babies company and played with them. She also kept the house up and cleaned everything before she left which I appreciated! She definitely went above and beyond.”

“Brooke was a great sitter for our dog while we were on vacation. She sent lots of pictures and updates. Our dog was very happy and well taken care of. We will definitely book Brooke again!”

“Lucky for us, we chose Jaclyn who was a perfect match for our senior pup. She came to meet him before we left and he warmed up to her calm demeanor instantly. She sent photos while we were away and was quick to respond back to messages. We hate leaving our big guy but it’s good to know we have a trusted sitter nearby. Thank you Jaclyn!”
“10/10! Bonnie is truly a dog lover and a professional! I completely forgot to take out the trash on trash day as I was in a rush for travel... completely unprompted she noticed it and took it out to the street! She organized my mail, washed the sheets she slept on....all on top of spoiling Thunder with going to the parks, outdoor mall, car rides and treats! I loved all the updates she provided throughout the visit of thunder. Will definitely use Bonnie again!”

About: Hi Rover friends! My name is Kate and I am an undergrad student at UofM! There’s never been a time in my life where I didn’t have a dog! I’ve had 2 labs, a Whoodle (similar to a doodle), and a Havanese! Most of my friends and family members also have dogs, so I am comfortable with dogs of all ages, sizes, or breeds. One of my dogs growing up also had a lot of dietary restrictions and required medications in her food so I have a lot of experience handling that! I’ve dog-sat my own dog for my parents over the years as well as neighbors and other family members dogs! I love going on walks and would be happy to take your furry friend along with me! Or, I can play with them and give your dog some pets while you’re away! I am a full-time student with quite a few breaks during my days, which is perfect for drop-in visits to feed, let out, walk, or play with your pet! My weekends are usually pretty available as well, as most of my time is spent studying! I cannot care for pets in my own home but at a clients home I would be sure to keep the pets routine as normal as possible. My dog back with my parents has quite a few quirks so I’m familiar with having a pet sleep with you, putting their food somewhere special, putting their bed somewhere, etc. At the end of the day, my priority is making sure your dog is safe and feels as comfortable and happy as possible!
“Nicole was wonderful with our dog Oscar while we were on vacation. She is so patient and gentle with dogs who have separation anxiety. Nicole also left our home very neat and tidy!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rochester Hills
Rey is a kind quiet person and with that said, I had concerns with our youngest dog Izzy. Izzy is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, only 2 years old and quite feisty. She is still in field training and Dad is her "person" so I wondered if she would "own" Rey. Jack is our Lab and easy as can be. Rey did great. Lots of messages and photos... A+ for Rey!

Anna came in and treated our dogs like her own. We got a puppy 1 week from vacation and both our dogs had kennel cough so even our oldest couldn’t be boarded. Anna was prompt to schedule our meet and greet and very easy to get to know and trust with our dogs and our home. We were gone 8 days and she made us feel so connected with pictures everyday and a quick update. She even started crate training for our puppy. She’s absolutely amazing and we will 100% be repeat customers.

I booked an international trip last year but recently relocated. I did not have any local sitters, and my family was unable to watch my girls. Jaclyn was a life saver! At our meet and greet the girls were instantly drawn to her playfulness and her professionalism helped me know they would be well cared for while I was away. She kept them on their schedule, walked them daily and sent just enough photos! 10/10, and will definitely book again!

This was our second time having Lisa check in our guinea pig, Storm, while we were on vacation. Storm was comfortable with her right away, and she shared the cutest photos. Lisa took extra time and care around the house. Would gladly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for trustworthy and reliable pretty care. 😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rochester Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rochester Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rochester Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rochester Hills. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
