“Melissa was wonderful. Right on time, followed instructions, and took excellent care of my puppy. Definitely would recommend her to others and will be using her again in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m a dependable and compassionate pet sitter with hands on experience caring for animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities. During high school, I worked at an animal hospital where I learned about animal behavior, handling techniques, and the importance of providing attentive, individualized care. In addition to my experience, I’ve cared for many dogs and cats through pet sitting and understand how important it is to keep pets comfortable, safe, and happy while their owners are away. Whether your dog is a playful puppy, a senior companion, or anything in between, I’m committed to treating them like family. Because I work from home, I have the flexibility to provide plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and regular updates throughout the day. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving loving, reliable care in a safe environment. I work from home full-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. Because I’m home, your pet won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of companionship, potty breaks, playtime, meals, and attention. I can also easily accommodate your pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable while you’re away. I believe every pet deserves individualized care based on their personality and routine. I take the time to get to know each pet so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure their needs are met. I follow all feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, keep litter boxes and living areas clean, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own.
“Brooke was a great sitter for our dog while we were on vacation. She sent lots of pictures and updates. Our dog was very happy and well taken care of. We will definitely book Brooke again!”

“We are so happy we booked Christina! She sent me daily updates of Layla with some photos, which we love! She was also very respectful of our home and helpful to being in mail and some packages and take the trash out to the curb(thank you!!). We had no doubt Layla was a happy girl in Christina’s care and we will definitely book her again! :)”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy spending time with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that’s going for walks, playing, sticking to feeding schedules, or simply keeping them company. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, because I have a pet of my own. I’ll always treat them with the same care and respect I treat my own. I’m reliable, communicative - I work two customer service jobs - and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working part time, so I’m available in the afternoons most of the time, and I’m very flexible with times and days. I like to feel active and take dogs on walks because it’s a great activity for all parties involved! Your pet’s safety and happiness are my absolute top priorities. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I love sending photo and video updates throughout the day so you always know your pet is having a blast and is in great hands!
“Bonnie is the best! It’s obvious how much she cares about animals and is so professional. She has such a kind heart. She was very prompt, kept us updated on how Marley was doing throughout the day, and sent adorable pictures. She even brought a special treat and a little fall bandanna for her on the last day. I have full trust in Bonnie, and would not hesitate to have her care for Marley, or my dog Tucker . Thank you for everything Bonnie. You’ll be seeing Miss Marley again.🩷”

“Sarah was wonderful with Shelby while we were away! We could not have asked for a better in-home sitter for our dog and it was so nice to know she could be at home where she was comfortable.”

“Lily is great ! I have no worries when she stays with our Goldendoodle and I’m able to enjoy my time away knowing that she will feed, walk and play with Ollie during her stay!”

I’m a high-level professional by day, which means I’m organized, punctual, and communicate clearly. When I’m with your pet, I’m 100% focused on their safety, comfort, and happiness. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so I make it a point to keep you updated with photos and notes so you never have to wonder how they’re doing!! I work from home full-time, which allows me to provide your pet with the dedicated attention, frequent potty breaks, and consistent companionship they deserve. Because I am home throughout the day, I am able to offer a stress-free environment for dogs who might experience separation anxiety or those who simply thrive on having someone nearby. “Can never say enough nice things about Cynthia! She always takes wonderful care of our 3 active furr-kids. She is our #1 go-to! Always sends us pics with updates and we can see how much our dogs enjoy being with her. She even gets them to play with toys they won’t touch when we are around 🤣. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Yates
Melissa was a great house sitter for our blind frenchie. He immediately accepted her into his home, which he does not often do with strangers. Melissa understood how to approach him and develop his trust. He quickly bonded with her and became her friend. She followed his basic schedule and adapted to his needs without any problems. She sent multiple photos throughout the evening. We felt comfortable leaving him in her care and would not hesitate to book her in the future!

Can't say enough about DJ! He was left with a unexpected task following us leaving on vacation. The smoke alarms were beeping indicating a battery change. He changed 11 alarms on theee different levels of our house but with no change they continued to beep. He called at 10:30 that night to notify us our dogs were trembling still due to the loud noice. We asked if he was able to unplug them all and it fixed the problem!! He is an amazing caring and great young man. Left the house immaculate and the dogs loved him🩷🩷. I am so glad to have met him😀
Andrea was wonderful house sitting our two dogs. They are anxious with strangers but Andrea was patient and gentle with them and was able to get them comfortable with her. She kept us updated, sent pictures, took them on walks and kept them happy and comfortable. We would love to have her house sit again and recommend her!

This was our second time having Lisa check in our guinea pig, Storm, while we were on vacation. Storm was comfortable with her right away, and she shared the cutest photos. Lisa took extra time and care around the house. Would gladly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for trustworthy and reliable pretty care. 😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yates. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
